The bed was firm and the bedding made of very good, smooth cotton. The shared bathroom was a bit of a hike away from my room #10 but usually unoccupied and well-equipped. The breakfast was generous, fresh crusty rolls, good selection of cheese and cold cuts. The owner was helpful and informative re: local transportation. I was dependent on buses and the location was rather far out for me, as I needed to be more central, but the price was very reasonable for high season. The local buses are at least a 10 minute walk from the hotel but reach the centre of Lübeck in ca. 15 minutes.

For me, the location was a problem without a car or bike. It would've been great to be able to borrow a bike.

Despite my late arrival (outside reception opening hours), there were no problems with check-in. I received detailed instructions beforehand. Very clean and pleasant room. The shared bathroom was also perfectly clean. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of fresh meats, cheeses, vegetables and crispy rolls.

Everything was perfect.

The room was large, with a small lounge suite. A door gave out onto a terrace. The breakfast was very good. Overall, good value for the money.

I happen to like creaky old traditional hotels with worn decor of faded glory. If you don't, then go elsewhere, but be prepared to pay much more. The beds were uncomfortable. There was neither secure nor covered space to put bikes overnight. The busy road was noisy.

A more traditional, old-school hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of space. Friendly owner. Good value. Decent base for a 2 night stay.

A minor thing. The location is a good bus ride from the centre of Lübeck. They are reasonably regular during the day, less so at night, and, whichever stop you go to, you’re still a good walk from the hotel.

The location is great for those arriving from the ship and only a short drive from the port of Travemunde. Self-service check-in is easy for latecomers. Free on-site parking for those traveling by car or bicycle. The bathrooms in the corridors are large and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is sufficient and good. This was my second time at Schweizerhaus and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to all travelers whose journey continues the next day.

Everything was just fine.

Our room is well decorated with a blue-white color. Everything was well-equipped. The staff was nice. The area around has many beautiful houses, good for walking. The breakfast was basic with bread, croissants, jam, boiled eggs, cheese, ham, filtered coffee and juices. But with the price, we also didn't expect a fancy buffet.

Spacious room and good bathroom in a lovely, traditional and quirkily decorated hotel, well located for access to the city centre. On site parking was easy. TV was good and tea/coffee provided in the room. A nice garden area out the front to sit.

Toiletries for shower (small sachets) were limited, better to have a dispenser. Very little around the property for eating, etc. so you need to be mobile. The wifi was not reliable, kept dropping out and having to be reset.

The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. There were several options for breakfast and as a whole it was very good with its pretty cups and plates. The hotel itself is quite charming like a little wonderland, lots of articles placed all over! Very cute. The situation cannot be better when you come from the ferry in Travemunde late in the evening and the price is reasonable

Hotel Schweizerhaus has very convenient location, just 15min drive from the harbour. Room was very reasonable priced and the bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The breakfast was good and there was big sortiment of food to choose. This was the third time I was staying there - but wont be the last time :-)

The hotel is definitely a character property. It's a classic German hotel that's full of charm. The rooms are clean and lovingly maintained. Breakfast is an excellent value. Fresh rolls and a good selection of cheese and meats. Really good value.

The Wi Fi was a bit slow.
