We did not go to breakfast. It stopped at 10 AM and we could not be ready by then .... In the past we have loved the breakfast: it was in the lobby then and stopped at 10:30.... We liked the room: the balcony was used every night as we sat out in the heat of the night drinking wine or water and talked. We have been at the Ariston many years and know the owner and staff. It was great to get a welcome hug from Matina. Also, the rest of the people recognized and welcomed us. We ate at the restaurant on the 6th floor for dinner / two of the three nights we were there. It has a great view of the sunset and of the Larissa station area as well as the hills. The menu has few Greek dishes but we had moussaka and tomatoes stuffed with rice (Greek) ... another night we split the generous chicken club. I don't believe the fries were from fresh potatoes and that is a minus on the menu. We also ate at the newer part off the street. They wanted us to try it the first night. not good. It was noisy and difficult to speak without interruption. We felt the 6th floor was far superior. Regarding getting there: It is a one block (maybe less) walk from the Larissa train and metro stop. If you take the elevator up you are literally on the same side of the street and just 1/2 block. (Oddly we found that the last night we were there thanks to a bunch of concerned Greeks who helped us find the elevator/lift) LOVE Greeks.

The bed was hard. We talked about the addition of a half or one inch foam on top to make it easier to lay on. It was a double bed and we would have loved a queen but : if wishes were horses, beggars would ride (as my mom always said) The linens were very nice .... towels were soft and new.

This is a beautiful house, very well equipped from kitchen utilities to bathroom toiletries. It has everything you need to have a wonderful stay: a very comfortable and functional kitchen, two bedrooms, and two living areas. One of the living rooms has a daybed that can sleep another person comfortably. The unit has a lot of bedding and quilt covers to keep everyone warm and comfortable. It is well maintained and everything looks new. The furnishings are of elegant classic style. The water pressure is very good with ready to use hot water. The unit also has balconies on two sides and a big terrace at the front door as the main outdoor sitting area where guests can enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast. It is fully stocked with toilet tissues and kitchen paper towels. The location is also the best. Right across the street is a big supermarket where you can find everything you need. Few steps to the right is a nice little restaurant for a quick bite. The unit is only a 4 minute walk to the train station (the rail system only operates a bus connection to Paleofarsalos at the moment). Two minute walk in the opposite direction is the main drag of the town that connects you to all the other places you want to go, with tons of restaurants and shops. Our host, Maria, is super nice and accommodating. We really appreciate the restaurant recommendations she provided. We had some of the best food in the world. The meats were incredibly well cooked and tasty. There is coffee, tea, wine, candies, and water in the kitchen ready for you when you walk in. This unit is genuinely a home away from home. I can't recommend it enough! It's really good.

We spent 2 nights here in June 2024. After arriving opposite Larissa Station by coach from Kalabaka on our Meteora Thrones tour, we walked two minutes to the hotel. The main reason for choosing Ariston Hotel is the proximity to the drop off point for the tour coaches and easy access to the metro. Although it was already 10.30PM, we were met by a friendly reception and checked into Room 35. It was a compact and cosy room. Towels were nice and fluffy and air-conditioning was greatly appreciated and a relief from the summer heat. Wi-fi connection and television works well too. Due to a late evening transfer to our next destination, we were also allowed a late check-out at 2.00PM upon request. Thank you very much!

We spent 1 night here in June 2024. After arriving at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, we took the Metro Line 3 which connects the airport to the city centre at Syntagma Square. From this interchange, we easily transferred to the Metro Line 2 and arrived at Larissa Station and walked two minutes to the hotel. The main reason for choosing Ariston Hotel is the ease to board the tour coaches to Mateora outside Larissa Station early next morning and the easy access to the metro. We were met by a friendly reception and checked into Room 22. For a small and compact room, there were plenty of mirrors. Towels were nice and fluffy and air-conditioning was greatly appreciated and a relief from the summer heat. Wi-fi connection and television works well too.

The hotel is only a few minutes away from M2 metro line and railway station. The staff was able to get the room ready for us hours earlier the defined check-in hours. AC was already on when we arrived. Fantastic restaurant on the 6th floor.

The sound isolation of the hotel room door was not the best. We had a bit trouble sleeping when other guests were talking in the hallway and frequently opening and closing their doors, which was noticeably loud as well.

I stayed there for 4 nights. I got the room 53 which is on the corner and had a good view. The room was spacious. I loved the size of the room. The AC was perfect. The washroom was also cleaned and good. No complaints about the room. Cleaning was done every day. The beds for me were comfortable. I had a backache due to the soft beds elsewhere. There was a refrigerator as well in the room. They had a weighing scale but a damaged one. Hence add nearly 5 kgs to what it shows. Perhaps instead of doing good it might do bad for the traveller and cause them to pay additional at the airport. The breakfast could have add more choices. But it's not a deal breaker! The place is opposite to Larissis train and metro station, and on the main road. Hence, you don't have to go through any dodgy areas. I would say that for a solo female traveler this place is safe! All the buses for meteors leave in front of this hotel. And all the other Athens Touristic places are few metro stops away. Opt for the 5 day athens travel pass for 9 euros. It is very affordable! They have 1.5 ltr packaged water bottles for 1 euro available at the reception kiosk. Overall, I had Superb stay.

It would have been nice to have a kettle. But on the 6th floor there is a restaurant and they filled my flask with hot water twice a day for free of cost. Hence I was good.

Perfect location, Metro across the road from the hotel so easy access to many attractions around Athens, next time l'm back in Athens this is a place l will start from, metro station and the underground great price for money (5 day ticket) you can go all over the area. I can not fault this hotel in any way, staff very friendly helpful with pure family run focus to detail, make the customer happy.

Nothing, if you want the Ritz 5~6+ star gold lining you pay way over the odds. This hotel for its star rating went above that it was rated at. Again l can not fault this hotel in any way shape or form.

Great compact room with air con, clean, comfortable bed.Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Not too far from city centre, half an hour walk or easy metro ride from the front of the hotel. Easy to get to the airport aswell with only one change of metro lines. We loved the restaurant/ breakfast area on floor 6 🙂😘

The coffee at breakfast was not great but might be just my taste 😝

the internet connection is poor no internet and was not repaored in 5 days. brekfest is ok accept the eggs is allways cold and the bacon is cold too. the stuff is awsoome !! the airconditioner did not work as should as eighter was on full blast and cold as siberia or off. thats it annoying as heck . and as soon you leave the room the power for the whole room shuts off so when you back the room is as warm as can bee.

The property is very close to the metro and bus station, so that was super convenient. There was also a supermarket and some restaurants within a 1km radius which was great. The staff were all very kind and helpful!

The breakfast was a little underwhelming, but I arrived very early so maybe they were still preparing some more items to bring out. But the lady working there gave me a free coffee from the proper coffee machine which was very kind and made up for the lack of variety available at that moment in my opinion.
