Staff were fantastic - welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic and because we could eat it on the rooftop restaurant the panorama was beautiful. Rooftop bar and pool area were exceptional! Easy access from the hotel onto the metro (with the station entrance just around the corner from the hotel).

Surrounding area is very grubby, busy (constant heavy traffic) and noisy, as the hotel is on a big roundabout. The hotel doesn't activate the air conditioning until the clocks go forward (end of March) so bedrooms were too hot during most of our stay (late March). It wasn't practical to have the bedroom window open at night due to constant traffic, music and car horns sounding well into the early hours of the morning. However, the hotel did provide an electric fan and bed sheets (instead of duvet) on request.

Roof area and breakfast locations were very good. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff were helpful and friendly.

The surrounding area around the hotel seems a little unsettling. Hotel has a security guard patrolling the street outside which gives the impression that there may be a criminal threat. Not sure whether there is actually any crime, but given the security presence, it does seem make one a little nervous. That said, I had the same feeling walking anywhere outside of the main tourist areas in Athens so could be entirely normal for this part of town.

It was lovely. Nice breakfast with lots of options. The staff were professional and kind in their approach. Good value for money.. would recommend it to anyone I know going to Athens in the future.

It's a 9/10… it's only that where the property is situated isn't the very best of Athens.

We stayed at The Stanley for 5 nights in Feb 2024 and our overall impression was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. As some of the reviews have mentioned, the proximity to the metro entrance is a definite plus. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, as was the quality of the food at the restaurant. We didn't use the pool as it was quite cold when we went, but it was certainly very welcoming. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and thought it offered good value for money too. The ACroplois view from the rooftop restaurant was pretty cool too.

Perhaps one of the slightly misleading parts is that there is AC. Yes, the rooms do have a temperature regulator, but it's only used for heating during the winter months. However, some of the nights and mornings were warmer than expected - so not having the option for the AC despite it being advertised as an amenity wasn't great. Having said that, the staff did get us a powerful fan which did help. The location in general, as some of the other reviews said, is not necessarily central - and it can get quite noisy at night - so leaving the balcony open wasn't an option.

The staff were very helpful, friendly, well trained, and with an excellent level of professionalism. There was an incident with a fire alarm in the afternoon (which, at the end, was a false alarm). The fire announcement was loud and clear through speakers and clearly could be heard inside the room. On each floor, there were 1-2 members of the staff guiding and helping people to get outside the premises through stairs and fire escape safely. Each member of the staff were in their positions helping out, this shows an excellent level of professionalism. The room was clean. Every day, the bath towels were folded piled neatly, and generally, the bathroom/shower area was spotless. Kudos to the housekeeping team. Breakfast was good with a variety of options. The restaurant/bar on the 9th floor had a nice atmosphere with a nice view of the area. It was a great option for a drink or lunch after a long day. Right outside at the corner of the hotel, next to the metro station entrance, there is a small café where you could get a coffee or juice "for the road" with a variety of sandwiches, wraps, pastries, etc.

Even though the hotel is located in a busy and noisy area, it was soundproof from outside noise, but this was not the case for noise inside the hotel. There were times we could clearly hear people talking in the corridor and doors opening and closing.

Excellent choice, quality & cleanliness/hygiene at breakfast. Room comfortable and bonus fridge. Shortage of clothes hangers but this is endemic in every hotel I have visited. Excellent small gym with dumbbell free weights and variety of resistance machines, not just usual jogging. Cracking little sauna. Lovely roof terrace with swimming pool and superb views of the city and Acropolis. Acropolis is 1.6miles so walking distance and main old town with bars (recommend The James Joyce Irish bar with great Guinness and good value food just one mile away so walking distance. Staff very friendly, helpful and courteous. Nice little bar across the road from the main entrance along with adjacent hand painted pottery/artwork shop. Theatre also directly across road from entrance. Marvellous cake shop on the roundabout (The Bread Factory) plus kiosk selling all sorts.

The sofas in lobby were not the most comfortable to sit down into. Location on huge roundabout is ok for shops, bars, restaurants, taxis, around but the overall area is somewhat depressed.

First of all..they provided 2 hours early check-in for one of our rooms...gave a good comfort. Everything around the reception desk were fast, accurate, effectiv...thanks for the front staff, esp. to Ms. Vicky ...Garage service is fine, for just 12/day. Breakfast -althought pretty repetative- is excellent, variety is wide enough, good quality things are served ...for 5 days you can select 5 diets. The bathroom isnt' big, equipped however, overhead shower, gels, soaps , etc, and good towels are there. The bed is big, maybe queen-size, 1st class matrace, and white bedclothes ...immaculate. Small but well equipped ( Technogym) gym, 5PAX finnish sauna are on the 4th floor!!! And , the cream on the top....on the top floor, there is an open-air roop terrace, with bar, restaurant, and a swimming pool with 22C water, and panorama of course. ( OK , I found cheaper bars here and there....but not on the top of good hotel in Athen) On one day one of our company had her birthday....I asked recepcionist Ms.Vicky, where could I get a little cake and flowers , as a surprize present for her. Instead, the house produced a fine chocolate cake - free, on the house - and served on a way I asked to.....and above all, this was the most fine , tasty cake we ( at least ..I) had in this year....

In the pre-set TV channels selection there are 4-5 English language news-channel (OK) but only one German speaking sport.

A breakfast buffet of dreams Delicious food and drink in the 9th floor restaurant Very comfy bed, spacious room and good extras in the room (sewing kit etc) Room rate is very reasonable for the type of hotel provided

Needs better information about the swimming pool in room information (opening times, seasonal opening etc) and on the 9th floor, to help people navigating their way around the rooftop restaurant/bar/pool area - looks like you can only access restaurant when you come out of the lift Advice in room was to not touch heating/cooling system unless you wanted it warmer but I was too hot even with door open and would have liked to put on air con

clean room, friendly staff, direct at the metro station, city centre easily reachable, very nice view from the pool area, delicious breakfast

the only thing we did not like was that the sunbeds at the pool were often reserved with towels and no one was present for a long time and thats why sometimes we could not find a place to sit or lay down. There is a 15 min rule for it (at least it is written at the towel cabinet) but the staff do not do anything about it. Please take away the towels, if noone present for a long time, so if someone really would like to use the sunbeds, they could…

The roof top area was beautiful and the view to the acropolis was amazing. The renovated rooms were really nice. The hotel location is great as the metro station is directly below. The buffet breakfast had every option. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.

The TV in the superior renovated room only had satellite, there was no foxtel or Netflix options which we felt should have been available for the price of the room. The pool area was very slippery, even the steps into the pool. We felt this was a bit unsafe.
