Beautiful hotel in a picturesque setting with a view of the nearby glacier if the weather is clear. We loved the restaurant in the hotel and our service was excellent. This was the only Fosshotel our group stayed at while in Iceland as they were generally more pricey than our other accommodations, but we thought it was well worth it!
Not sure if it's seasonal but we were told there were very small biting flies around the property and were advised to keep our room windows/doors closed. Because of this we didn't make use of our balcony which would've been nice. Didn't get any bites though.

The views were incredible and staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good and it was an easy drive to Hofn from the hotel, where we went to have an amazing dinner at Pakkhus (highly recommend).
Unfortunately, while we were there, they warned us about biting flies and recommended we keep our windows closed. We did as told, but it discouraged us from spending time outside at night, and we would have loved to enjoy the view more from their back deck.

When we arrived we were offered upgraded rooms. Rooms were beautiful with great scenic views. Good included breakfast. Convenient for an evening trip to Stokknes under the midnight sun. Clean and spacious rooms.
Connecting family rooms were more expensive than 2 separate rooms. Would have preferred to have the rooms connected, but refused to pay more for that. As a result, we were on 2 separate floors which was inconvenient. Location is a bit out of the way if you don't want to eat at the restaurant so we ate on the way.

Hotel is comfortable, quite new, has good view (if you are lucky with wheather) to three glasier tongues. Dinner is ok, although price is high (as everywhere in Iceland though). As an option- you can drive to Hofn, it’s 10 minutes by car.
Bad soundproof. Price is too high for staying in the middlemof nowhere, but maybe that’s the reason.

Rooms are OK, but a little bit far from center, view of bar is nice, staff are nice, except when we arrive the credit card machine is broken. But few hours later it works again.
Our bathroom is suitable for disabled person, so there is no shower curtain which caused the whole bathroom floor wet after shower, I think this could be improved.

The hotel was clean. Lobby and the bar area were spacious. Rooms were nice
There are no hiking trails anywhere around the hotel. Restaurant chairs and tables feels like you are somewhere cheap. Very minimalistic. I understand the Icelandic decor, but this one feels very cheap

The hotel was in a beautiful setting with wonderful views. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The shower drain seemed to be blocked as the water took a very long time to disappear. The room was small & a little cramped, especially for the money we paid.

The view was amazing and we had the chance to see the northern lights! the staff was friendly and helpful. they answered ahead of our arrival and helped with setting up a welcome surprise for my partner. the room was spacious and clean. the beds were comfortable and we were able to fall asleep looking at the sky. very quiet and isolated, with easy parking. we were at a good distance of activities in the Vatnajökull park, but also short distance to Hofn, where there were great restaurants.
the breakfast is pricey for the offer, but there isn’t much around. very hard to see the entrance for the hotel from the road at night - make sure to have your gps on! the toilet and shower are in two different places. while it is ok, the mirror/vanity was strangely placed on the counter in the main space. not the best lighting or location to do your skincare routine.

The room was tiny. The dinner was good but extremely expensive, the most expensive meal we had in Iceland. Good breakfast
Bigger room with some room to get into our luggage would have been nice, more affordable dining

The view was breathtaking. It is definitely not in a city - but the views were worth it. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel (expensive) but great quality - and again there isn't really anywhere for you to go near by. Recommend making reservations even if the hotel looks empty.
