Convenient location and the laundry facilities were a lifesaver a week into our two week trip! It was clean and quiet and the kitchen was convenient for preparing food. It was nice to have a private bathroom as well for a good price. I would stay here again if I go back to Reykjavik!

The Student Hostel was the perfect place to explore Reykjavik and visit the university. The room (we had the deluxe one) was small with two beds and a desk, but it was all we needed thanks to the large storage spaces. The room came with linen and towels. The location is perfect, everything can be reached by foot (University, City and the BSI Bus Terminal for trips). The rooms was quiet, the beds comfy and the bath was functional with a good shower. The staff was excellent and super helpful. We had several questions and all were answered perfectly. The common kitchen is a great place to store food and meet people. Value for money is excellent and I highly recommend it for a stay in Iceland.

We stayed for a week and I would have appreciated a cleaning at least once. The shower had some hairs from the previous people, but that was removed easily. Apart from that, room and bath were clean.

The Hostel is very central, Reykjavik Center is very near by foot (not even 10 minutes), the hostel in itself is modern, nicely decorated, calm, had a fantastic kitchen and the staff was really nice! The beds were super comfortable, we love that there was a sink inside the room, making things as skincare or brushing the teeth more private and it’s nicely separated from the beds with furniture in the middle. 5 points for the window blackouts as well, since at this time of the year it’s important to have darkness in the room at night. Showers/WC were very nice and private. Lovely stay! 😊

We enjoyed our stay here. It was relatively low cost, in a great location for walking downtown, very clean and with comfortable beds. It is a hostel-type accommodation, so very basic rooms and bathrooms but perfectly fit for purpose. Heating worked well and it was very quiet. Communal kitchen was clean and the lounge was pleasant to sit in. The chap in reception was very friendly and helpful. Would certainly use this again and have recommended to friends and family already.

An electric socket in one of the rooms was hanging off the wall but we reported it.

Good location, across the street from the city park, close to the center and a bar/cafe nearby with student prices. Spacious parking. We had a room with a private bathroom. Small but clean. Spacious kitchen with dining table and couch, where you can easily prepare any meal. Our part of the hostel was quiet and with nice neighbors. Nice staff who tried to answer every question. They didn't make a problem when I wanted to check out later because I wasn't feeling well at the morning.

Student rooms with twin beds and own bathroom, shared living/dining area and a large shared kitchen with well organised cupboards and fridges. Friendly welcome from staff at the reception. Comfy beds. Convenient location for the city centre, just 10 minutes walk. An ideal base for a few nights.

The wifi wasn't great. The staff acknowledged this on checking in. You could sometimes connect in the common areas but not in the bedrooms. Located on a busy road so it could be noisy at night with the window open.

First time staying in a hostel and could not have been happier. Loved everything about the place: main common area was lovely, with plenty of comfy chairs, books, games, and a coffee machine; the kitchen was large and well supplied with everything you might need; the bathroom was clean and the showers had amazing water pressure; the rooms were basic but very comfortable. Wifi was available in the common areas. The hostel is a beautiful 5 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik. We also took advantage of the bar/restaurant housed in the university and got a great food for a bargain!

Comfortable beds, spacious room. Friendly staff, flexible check in. Very modern. It's okay for short stays, good price value. Free parking next door at the university on weekends.

No shower gel and shampoo, the shower doesn't hold the water in, the bathroom becomes a swimming pool and you can't clean it up. Bad sound insulation of the windows. There is one tiny tiny window that you can open, it's not enough to even let out the humidity from the bathroom or to get fresh air. Checkout is very early, at 10am.

I had a comfortable room with two narrow beds, useful for organizing myself during a nine night stay. The shared kitchen was very well equipped, better than my kitchen at home! The staff were particularly helpful re bus routes, etc. The cleaning staff were very good. Laundry facilities were available. The large lounge was very pleasant. The location was good, within walking distance of museums, art galleries, Hallgrims church, Harpa centre, etc.

The shared shower/toilet room was a disappointment, as the showers leaked and we had to walk on the slippery floor to get to a toilet.
