I loved absolutely everything about my stay at the Dutch Bungalow. I wondered if extending my plans for a 4 night stay in Kochi would be the right thing to do. But it absolutely was. My room was huge and really comfortable in this beautiful colonial building which oozes character. The pool was so nice, really refreshing temperature and really clean. In fact the whole hotel was in great condition. Service was A* particularly from the restaurant staff. With lots of care going into attention to detail in service and the quality of food. Prices were also well placed for this calibre of hotel. Great location just a short walk from the amazing Water Metro that can take you across to the main city. But also nearby to all the local places of interest. An added bonus for me was the amazing yoga studio literally around the corner!! As a solo female traveller I felt completely safe during my whole stay. Already looking forward to returning one day. 😊

Nothing!

We had a wonderful experience during our stay! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, even checking in on us regularly to see if we needed anything — even when we were already fully satisfied! Room service was prompt, and everyone we interacted with was incredibly sweet and friendly. Even security staff was kind and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and looked after throughout our stay. After we checked out, we asked if we could leave our luggage while we explored the area one last time, and not only did they gladly accommodate us, but they also offered a changing room to freshen up when we returned. Their kindness and thoughtfulness truly made this trip even better. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful heritage hotel. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and charm of the place stood out. The architecture and decor evoke a sense of history, yet the rooms are well-equipped with all modern amenities. Breakfast was delightful, served poolside with good live menu options. The staff were attentive and eager to share the stories behind the hotel’s rich past. The property itself is very well maintained — it feels like staying in a living museum. The central courtyard and pool were perfect spots for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates history, culture, and authentic local experiences. Would love to return!

A 1600s Dutch bungalow. The staff were excellent, professional, and eager to help. The location in the old town Fort Kochi is excellent to experience the Portuguese and Dutch influences. The Heritage room was large, with a comfortable king bed, access to an internal lounge and verandah overlooking the pool. Delicious breakfasts were a choice of buffet and a la carte items. The wait staff were very polite and helpful. The pool provided welcome relief from the heat... A very nice property.

The bathroom was very dated and could do with a refurbishment...an improved shower head would be welcome and places for soap, conditioner and toiletries in reach of the shower.

The breakfast spread had usual choices local cuisine and continental with interesting and unusual twists in terms of additional ingredients. Great restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride.. Many of the well known and historical tourist sites are in Fort Kochi. again easily accessible. Live Kalari cum Theyyam-ancient martial arts and dance art forms demonstration centre within 5 minutes walk of the hotel in the adjoining street,

There was no fresh filter coffee. On our last day, there was a problem with hot water shower.

This is a beautiful place to stay . We stayed for 8 nights and I would stay here again . The staff can’t do enough to ensure you have everything you need . They were so kind they invited hotel guests to join them for lunch to celebrate Onam . . The breakfast variety of food is amazing both western and eastern . The restaurant staff will make some fresh food such as omelettes, dosas . There is a local yoga/cafe nearby and other places to explore including Kochi beachfront all in walking distance. I would recommend this place and I will definitely be going back there.

The Dutch Bungalow is a beautiful heritage building that we wish we had more time to spend staying in. We got to stay in a room with a tiny balcony overlooking the pool. It was comfortable with the much needed fans and air-conditioning. The service was great and friendly. I think it was lovely Nazia who hosted us at the reception and helped complete the formalities. They were happy to provide us with enough bottled water. And the kind porter or door security took care of our luggage when we stepped out after room check out. The breakfast was also nice and fresh with a lot of options. The hotel is in a brilliant location and one can walk around the narrow lanes of fort kochi area and not be bored. The beach is just a short walk away. There are autos normally parked outside the hotel. Although many try to sell you a tour, the people were quite decent and helpful.

The wifi was okay and the bedding had some stain.

Impressive historical building. Huge heritage rooms and shower rooms. Nice vintage design. Well maintained. Good location. Staff were great and accommodated every request. Nice food.

Shower could be cleaned better - a touch of anti-calc or bleach wouldn't hurt (area near the drain was dirty, as well as the bottom tiles on the walls). Room floor should be vacuumed and not just sweeped. It wasn't clean enough.

I recently stayed at the Dutch Bungalow in Fort Kochi, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This charming heritage hotel is a perfect blend of colonial architecture and modern comforts. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated, reflecting the rich history of the place while providing all the modern amenities one could need. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The service was impeccable, making me feel truly valued as a guest. The on-site restaurant offered a delightful array of local and international dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. One of the highlights of my stay was the location. Situated in the heart of Fort Kochi, the Dutch Bungalow is within walking distance of many of the area's top attractions, including the famous Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church, and the vibrant local markets. This made it easy to explore the rich culture and history of the area without any hassle. The serene garden and the inviting pool provided the perfect setting to unwind after a day of sightseeing. It was a peaceful oasis where I could relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Overall, my stay at the Dutch Bungalow was nothing short of perfect. The combination of historic charm, outstanding service, and excellent location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting Fort Kochi. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.
