We booked a gorgeous villa with a private pool to experience Ubud in a different way, and we definitely made the right choice! The villa was absolutely beautiful, full of charming details that gave it a true boho vibe and made the whole stay feel so special. From the intricately designed entrance gate to the artwork in the dining area, everything was thoughtfully styled. The bathroom was a highlight as well, it really completed the whole atmosphere! One thing to note is that the humidity inside was quite noticeable, not in terms of smell, but just the general moisture in the air. We believe this was due to the heavy rains that had been falling for several days. Also, the villa is located a bit outside of the main center, up in the hills, which may contribute to that. Breakfast was great, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and unique stay in Ubud!

We stayed at Govala Villa for 3 nights and absolutely loved every bit of it. The views are simply spectacular, offering a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. It’s located just 4 km from Ubud Central, which makes it the perfect distance — close enough to explore, yet far enough to enjoy complete serenity. The private pool was a highlight — clean, inviting, and a perfect spot to unwind. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Always smiling, always going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable — their hospitality made us feel truly at home. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic getaway with genuine Balinese hospitality, Govala Villa is a hidden gem.

As for what I didn’t like — honestly, there’s nothing I can think of. Everything was just right.

It is set in a quiet and tranquil area called Kelabang Moding. The condition of the suites was way past expectations. What I loved best was the long table outside my room facing the rice fields where one can sit and watch ducks play around the rice fields. The bathroom was exquisite with a stone bathtub and an exterior shower area in a lovely garden setting. There was also an AQUA water filter/dispenser that provided hot and cold drinking water, which was really useful. The bed made a terrible creaky noise, which was my only complaint. Other than that, the property is an excellent choice for a two night stay.

The rooms were absolutely gorgeous. The staff were so lovely and very helpful. We both had massage in the spa room, which was incredible and would definitely recommend, and afterward, the staff provided a super delicious healing tea. The view from the rooms were lovely and the pool was fantastic. Our meals were delicious.

The bed was gorgeous but very uncomfortable. There were a lot of bugs in the room. The tiles got very slippery when wet, which was quite dangerous after leaving the bathroom as I had slipped over. The only alcohol available was Bintang.

we like how quiet the surrounding area was, the villas are stunning, the staff and manager Aris, are very friendly and helpful. the pool is very lovely and clean, the bath tub was clean and had a eye-pleasing view of the outside pool and garden, i highly recommend the villa! the distance from ubud's center was 15-20 mins on motorbike.

nothing tbh, except there were lots and lots of lizzards and geckos outside, which is not the villa's problem of course as it is part of nature, but if you have some sort of phobias (like myself and my husband) you should keep that in mind.

Beautiful, peaceful place next to the rice fields in Ubud. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was big and comfy. Only a few rooms here and a nice pool area and sun beds for relaxing. You can enjoy breakfast at the restaurant or at your own terrace and there was a nice choice of things for your breakfast. The staff was super friendly and attentive and made us enjoy our stay to the fullest. This place is a little bit outside of Ubud centre but we used grab and it worked out well. Perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing stay!

We absolutely loved the villa — it was even more stunning in person than in the pictures! Super romantic, with beautiful spaces to relax, enjoy a meal, and just unwind. The room was lovely, and the washroom was honestly incredible!

It’s a bit far from the central area — not walking distance to any shops or restaurants. Also, the food at the resort was quite disappointing, so we’d recommend skipping the breakfast option and trying out cafes in the central instead!

Very spacious and staff are excellent. They are friendly and nothing is a problem for them. Room was cleaned every day and we wanted for nothing. Not in downtown Ubud so peaceful and tranquil.

The villa is clean except for the corners in the bathroom - an oversight I’m sure.
