What impressed me the most was Mr. Abdulkadir, the receptionist. He was truly exceptional in his manners and the way he treated me. He made the check-in process smooth and easy, followed up on everything I needed, and even arranged an airport taxi for me. So, I sincerely say to him: thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I did not like the way I was treated at the hotel’s swimming pool, as the staff’s attitude was not friendly. At the restaurant, my request for a specific type of egg was neglected. I had to follow up on my order twice, but I didn’t complain much and simply took my order after some time. But I did not like this attitude.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Everyone at reception spoke perfect english and went far beyond what is to be expected in making my stay as pleasant as humanly possible. I cannot praise them enough. Breakfast was great and the rooms very spacious and clean. I stayed in two different ones since I was visiting another city for a day in between stays. They were both great. Comfortable beds, high speed wifi without restrictions or extra fees. Affordable mini bar with water, snacks, juices, soft drinks etc. Tons of channels albeit pretty much all in Sorani or Arabic. Bathroom had packaged combs, shaving kit, toithbrush and toothpaste and two sets of small shampoo, balsam and shower gel bottles. A steady supply of free water bottles each day and more at the ready if you call reception. Also the AC worked beautifully and was easy to adjust. Another great thing was the how quiet it was. Plenty of huests but I didnt head a single thing coming from other rooms or the spacious corridors. If I'm ever in Erbil again I will be returning here, no question.

If I have to think of anything The outside of the hotel windows could do with a quick wipe down. But considering the climate maybe this isn't a feasible thing to do on a regular basis. Not a big deal.

It was a wonderful stay in Van Royal, everything in our room was clean and comfortable. The Hotel location was good and near to many markets and Royal Mall. The staff of the hotel was gorgeous, especially Mr. Abdulqader in the reception, he was a very nice, friendly, and helpful man. The swimming pool and sauna room were very clean, as well as, the swimming was amazing. The breakfast contained variable dishes with different kinds of Middle East food of very nice taste. I recommend this hotel to everyone searching for a clean, comfortable, and luxurious stay in Erbil.

Everything was beautiful, the hotel is clean and neat, the room was big, clean and well organized when we arrived, the staff is very friendly and always smiling and they were very helpful especially the guy in the reception desk. The hotel location is also very good near to everything and like 8-10 min from the airport. Highly recommended and will revisit this place.

The people at the reception. They were very polite, friendly and accommodating, both on arrival and at the checkout.

My family had a newly refurbished room and they were excellent, but I didn't have the same standard of room. However, the staff did offer me an alternative room on the 2nd, but it was on a different level and distanced from my family. Again, the staff were extremely polite and understanding, and cared to make me happy. This to me was more important than the room itself.

I liked the room ,the facilities wasn't as good as I was expected for a 5 stars Hotel, and when I was checking out iv had a shock when they couldn't find my passport unfortunately some one put it under the wrong room number

Love the place employees were so helpful and very professional. Love everything about the place. l. By the way, the place is very secure and safe.

One thing I did not like. The gym is located in the pool area and so hard to run because it is very hard to breathe normally. You would get dizzy easily because that is not enough oxygen because the pool chlorine is very strong.

The hotel is very clean and very comfortable.. it is recently renovated and modern.. the location is in the heart of Erbil city.. very recommended.
