I loved the property. My room was nice and bigger than expected. The place was clean, my bed was comfortable, the water pressure great, and complimentary water on the fridge. I liked history of the place and the decor plus the rooftop terrace had an amazing view. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The staff was great especially the front desk guy that could remember everyone’s name and room number. Location was great. Right near train station, restaurants, the out door market, and the duomo.

If you are short, 4’11” , the towels and extra toilet paper are a bit too high. Though they had an elevator to get to my room I still had 7 stairs, but I guess I should have mentioned my bad ankle. The elevator goes up to the 5th floor and you had to walk up stairs to the roof top terrace but it was worth it. I just took it slowly.

Perfect location. If I got lost in incredible Florence I could just ask for directions to the train station Breakfast servers and selection was very nice. My first introduction after traveling Sicily and southern Italy for 3 weeks was a lovely welcome Miss Bonanno from Lucca. He was professional, always cheerful and ready to answer my questions. The Hotel is very lucky to have Lucca with his excellent customer service skills. My room was always clean and comfortable. I will make my next visit stay in Florence at the Hotel Machiavelli. The staff was AMAZING

Location was perfect, right next to the train station and within a twenty minute walk of the majority of landmarks. Street behind also has some wonderful restaurants that are beyond where most tourists would roam, so food is great quality and good prices. Balcony view was absolutely amazing both day and night. Staff were extremely helpful and the desk is manned 24/7. Had an issue with the shower fitting on the first night but we mentioned this to reception and it was fixed the next morning. Bed and pillows were extremely comfy and got a great night's sleep every night.

Room is on the smaller side and is a little bit dated, but this definitely wasn't a major issue. Air conditioning is limited to heating only in January but we were made aware of this by the hotel and the balcony door provided more than enough ventilation.

Location couldn't be better. It's 5mins walking distance from the train station. It's also close to many good restaurants. I also used a laundromat 100mts from the hotel. It's also at a walking distance from Academia gallery. I had tours booked to Tuscany from here so i didn't do lot walking, instead i had booked an electric Tuk-Tuk or Golf Cart City tour with hotel pickup. I was told by the guide that most of the sightseeing places are at a walking distance from the hotel. Hotel breakfast was good, rooms were spacious. Mattress and pillows were comfortable. Our stay was very pleasant.

I missed having a water kettle in the room. Everything else was great.

Lucca at the front desk was an incredible host. He took excellent care of our needs. His recommendations were spot on. The view from the rooftop was incredible. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety. And the bed was the most comfy of all the places we stayed in Italy during our holiday vacation. The hotel is situation within easy walking distance to all major attractions in Florence.

For me personally, I have a lot of respiratory issues and allergies. Unfortunately the rooms were scented with perfume of some kind which was difficult for me and I could only stay one night for this reason.

Great little hotel in the centre of Florence - just minutes away from the train/bus stations and an easy walk to major attractions in the city. Rooms were a good size and well appointed. The hotel has a calming atmosphere and is a great place to come back to after a day's sightseeing - especially the rooftop bar & terrace with views over the city. Special mention to all the staff who were helpful and greeted everyone with a smile. I highly recommend!

I could hear the noise from the street if I opened the window, and when shut the noise was minimal. I loved being close to the action and having lots of nearby options for breakfast or dinner. Own bathroom facilities and airconditioned room made my stay so comfortable in the peak of summer.

I did not pick this venue from the outset of my trip, it is so conveniently located (walking distance) from the Santa Maria train station and major attractions, good dining and shopping options available.

The location is amazing! Five minutes from the train station, ten to fifteen minutes to most everything you want to see or do Florence! We had a balcony and enjoyed the amazing views. The roof top bar is a nice touch!

Everything was really quite lovely. The only drawback is also of the reasons to stay here. The street noise is substantial at night. I just used a portable white noise machine. It did the trick!

The location is great for exploring the city and S.M.N. train station is in close proximity. We had a nice large room and everything was very clean. The hotel staff is very friendly :-)

Our neighbours were a bit loud in the late evening as was the street life (not for everyone a problem). And: We missed the roof-top terrace, which was being renovated (march 2025). So, if you want to book this hotel in the next days only because of the city view from its terrace, better ask before.
