The hotel was in a convenient place, 5 minutes' walk from the station, but, being five floors up, you felt a long way from the hurly-burly of the streets outside. The room had a good view across Florence but the best part was the panoramic view from the rooftop. It is an unusual hotel in that it has an ancient lift to get to the top floor and the reception is not staffed for much of the time, but that doesn't really matter.

I like the cranky old lift, but not everyone might agree.

It is a nice small hotel located on the last floor of the old but nice building. All major attractions are in walking distance. Our room did not have a special view but we really enjoyed rooftop terrace that provided excellent views to Medici Chapel and Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore considering free snacks and drinks it was one of the best places to meet sunset in Florence. The hotel also have 2 private parking spaces available the entrance was quite narrow as usual in historic buildings but with compact SUV it was not much a problem. The room was clean the people were extremely friendly and helpful and small pleasant things like free coffee, tee and collections of sweets throughout the day made our stay very pleasant.

Very central hotel, close to train station and very short walk to market and main tourist square. Fabulous roof terrace for guests to use with views over the city (was nearly worth it for this alone). Excellent location, easy to check-in and out off, helpful staff, clean room. Plenty of toiletries in the bathroom.

The room we had was very noisy during the night with traffic noises and bin lorries starting from very early. I think this was the location of the room, overlooking the main street. Would stay here again but would request a different room.

The view from the roof top was outstanding — we took plenty of pictures. Newly remodeled facility had super nice and beautiful features in the room. We also took a video of the elevator in this historic place. Staff was very helpful and accommodated all our needs. The location is close to the train station and a 15-minute walk to all the main attractions. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

The size of rooms are as limited as in all the European hotels in major cities.

The balcony was our favorite part with the view of the duomo. We didn’t get to use the sauna because it was really hot during our stay (June). We only stayed for 1 night and the staff was really helpful and let us checked in earlier than expected and gave us plenty of time to explore florence. The room is clean. The free water was a plus. They gifted us a free pasta which is really thoughtful. There was no reception after 7pm but the instructions on how to get in to the hotel was not difficult. Really closed by the station an easy walk. Felt safe around the area. The walk to the center/duomo is approximately 15mins.

The staff made such a difference to our stay they are lovely.

The room was not the best. The shower was very small. Smaller than in our RV! The had no real veiw. But over a busy street. There is an upper terrace in the hotel but the hours of use are restricted we went up for a few minutes 1st night but there were other guests and not enough room for us to sit down. The next morning we wanted to take photos from the terrace but we're told it is closed during that time of the day. We tried again one more time but it was busy with other guests. If we return we will book another room.

On the 5th floor so great views from the hotel window and indeed on the roof top. Super sunset views overlooking the duomo and palace! Complimentary cold water, coffee, biscuits, cakes and fruit in the ‘waiting area’. Joannis, the receptionist was very welcoming and informative. Valerie, the cleaner, was fantastic. Perfect location for the train station/tram station (3 mins walk), supermarket (1 min walk) and the city centre (5 mins walk)!!! We were at the back of the hotel so it was extremely quiet.

It is a hotel that we can recommend to everyone. It is a clean and comfortable place. The location is away from the chaos, close to shopping areas and the leather market. You can reach anywhere in the city by walking for 5-10 minutes. It was rainy when we were there. We went back to our room and changed clothes at every opportunity. Quiet rooms, hot water and facilities were sufficient. There was a hospitable staff and they took care of everything. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS, after checking out, we vacated the room and left our bags at the hotel until the evening. When we returned to the hotel, we rested, drank coffee and changed clothes in the guest waiting area. Many thanks to Hotel Bellavista and its staff.

The room was clean, the furniture was simple but very functional. From the property you could access a rooftop terrace with the view of the historical centre. We were allowed to leave our baggage at the property after check-out.

There was a lot of noise from the street, also at night (even if we were on the 5th floor, and promised soundproofing). The room (number 4) was small, and the shower box was small as well (we were promised 17m2). There was no promised landmark view from the room.

The rooftop view is excellent. The room was a decent size and it was quite modern. The shutter and Aircon were great. Loved the lift. It was nice to have a fridge with water and nuts.

Black mould under the window needs removing. The beds could also do with a topper to make them more comfy.
