Everything was great. Right in the city centre, next to the train station which allowed us to get anywhere. The whole vibe of the hotel was great, everyone was so kind and welcoming. There was free coffee and tea with biscuits. The room was very comfortable as well and the air conditioning was a must. No noise during the night. Will definitely come back.

The shower was sort of open without any curtains so it was a bit hard not to make a mess. Everything else was perfect.

The hospitality and friendliness of the staff far exceeded my expectations. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. I had a lovely and immaculate room with a great view. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. The 24 hour coffee/cappuccino/latte machine made some of the best coffee I have ever had, as well as old water and an ice machine. It was a 2 minute walk from the train station, making travel to and from the airport quite easy. They had my room ready early so I was able to unpack and freshen up before I got on with my day. There is a supermarket next door so I was easily able to grab snacks. I would sty there again without pause!

The only thing I can think of is possibly a small refrigerator in the room. I didn't miss it much at all.

We had such a great experience at the A-Train hotel! From the moment we arrived, the front desk folks were so friendly, kind and helpful, and went above and beyond to help us with anything and everything we needed during our stay. We had a standard room, but it was designed so well that it felt roomier than it was, and it was extremely functional, cool, quiet, super clean and the beds were extremely comfortable... The bathroom is also very well designed, though the lighting in the bathroom could be better. We were also blown away by the beautiful, healthy breakfast they provided each morning… delicious muesli, eggs, yogurt, incredible raisin toast and other breads, croissants, cheese, meats, fruit, and a variety of delicious coffee options too:). It’s also in such a great location, with the train station steps away, and great restaurants and beautiful canals close by. We loved the hotel so much that we decided early on that the A-Train will be our “go to” hotel whenever we are in Amsterdam! It’s not surprising to us that it was voted (something like) the “Best Small Boutique Hotel” in Europe.” Can’t recommend it enough.

The staff made you feel like family, so nice and friendly. Great coffee machine with hot chocolate 24/7. Breakfast had deli meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt and tomatoes. The dining/ lounge area had booths which were comfortable and gave a feeling of privacy. People used them all day. A good place to have a coffee and chat, play games or use a computer. Perfect location for all transportation, canal cruises, etc. There is a supermarket next door where we got cold sandwiches, drinks and treats. There are many restaurants in the area. The hotel was older and had so much character. Loved it!

The rooms and bathroom were a bit small but true European size and you could move around easily. Our lamp didn't work and it was fixed immediately Great service! The shower floor is a little slippery

The most charming room with a view towards the backside of the hotel, with windows that could be opened for fresh air, and with limited noise despite being close to the railway station and other communication lines (trams). Efficiently furnished, bathroom included sufficient space to keep your toilet requisites - also windows for light and which could be opened and an extra blanket was provided if cold. Shower provided hot water instantly even on the 2nd floor. The breakfast was very good, including fresh produce like a variety of fruits, cucumber and tomatoes, and both cereals and bread/croissants etc. with a good selection of spreads. Hot and cold drinks of which several options of coffee/tea/water were available 24/7. A very good hotel for a stay, close to public transport alternatives and to stroll in the old city and catch a cruise boat. Charming decorative themed breakfast room/lounge.

As always in Amsterdam, be prepared for steep and narrow stairs. The bathroom was not (separately) heated, but with a shower, as I prefer it. The single bed is narrow, and to me very soft with a too big/thick pillow, which was good for reading in bed, though. No fridge. This said, the room provided just what I needed for a comfortable stay and I really enjoyed the windows that could be opened which to me was the best part to have a good night's sleep.

Location and friendliness of staff superb. Breakfast also very good with cold cuts , eggs , fruit croissant and fabulous coffee machine . Have never seen such assortment of coffee choices . They also have tea bags and these all available 24/7 , that’s a great convenience.

We were 3 persons , so that particular apartment was very tight downstairs , with just enough room to sit on 3 straight back chairs . Upstairs the 3 beds were quite comfortable. It is not a place to hang around and lounge in …but it was not intended to be . We were out all day . The cost for this accommodation was significantly more than far more luxurious places we enjoyed to be in . Here it was all about the location which was right across the railway station.

We had a wonderful stay at the A-Train Hotel with my mum and dad. From the moment we arrived, the reception team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, setting the tone for our entire visit. Every staff member we encountered was kind, patient, and attentive, making us feel truly at home. The hotel itself is spotless—immaculately clean throughout, including our rooms, which were well-kept and comfortable. Without even having to ask, our rooms were thoughtfully arranged next to each other, which was a lovely touch that made our stay even more convenient. The continental breakfast was fresh and satisfying, offering a great selection of breads, fruits, cheeses, and cold meats. A coffee machine was available throughout the day, which we really appreciated. We were also impressed by how accommodating the staff were on our departure day. They happily stored our luggage and encouraged us to relax with a drink before heading out, which made our last few hours feel just as enjoyable as the rest of the trip. Highly recommend for a comfortable, well-run, and welcoming place to stay in the city.

I arrived at 11am and they kindly stored my suitcase and backpack in a locked room. They told me that my room would be ready at noon. When I returned I went to my single room 108. The elevator was large enough for 4 people. As I entered, there were 2 small stairs to climb. Clean room but small, so I had to leave my open suitcase on floor next to bed. Great bathroom with nice shower. Tight space, but what I expected based on website.

Recommend skipping the free breakfast and enjoying the nearby restaurants. No view out window, but for sleeping it was quiet.

The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. The Aircon worked excellent especially with the heat on the day I arrived. The staff were super friendly and helpful and happy to be of service. On check out day I had plans in Amsterdam and the hotel were happy to keep my luggage secure at no cost. The breakfast offering was superb. There was a lift to make it easier to get to the rooms. The photos and models on display were really interesting and varied causing a bit of collectors envy. The bed was comfortable and the desk was handy for planning my activities.

A Train couldn't be in a better location - about 5 minutes walk from Centraal Station. For a hotel in this location, the price is really competative, especially with breakfast included (many more expensive places do not include breakfast). The breakfast is exactly to my tastes - a buffet with cereal, toast, pastries, cheeses and cold meats, salad - it really sets you up for the day. My single room was quite compact, but there's everything you need. The staff - very friendly people who can't do enough to help you. They absolutely make you feel more like a friend than a customer. Thank you.
