This was a great experience. The staff were very helpful and very friendly, indeed. I would recommend the breakfast - a great choice and the possibility of ordering additional cooked items for a modest additional charge. Two mornings, I had a cheese omelette which was very tasty and, on one of the mornings, I had a poached egg on toast which was very well executed. I miei complimenti allo Chef!

I liked everything - and I would offer especially praise to Basil who was a great help with luggage and a special thanks to Luca in the bar and Christian and Alfred G. in the breakfast room - all four of them were a great credit to this hotel. I would certainly stay here again.

Excellent breakfast. Very good room, elegant, on corner so with two aspects and good windows, good bathroom. Wide comfortable bed. Vary friendly and helpful staff. In particular Angelo, who supervised breakfast, was assiduous in helping us , my wife and myself, to a good table, good coffee. And we would also like to mention Alfred who both at breakfast and later in the bar in the evening, went to lengths to provide a good service, even though he was under pressure.

A common problem but surely not in a 4 start hotel: the bedside lamps were too low and too dim to allow for reading in bed. This really is a necessity. And although there was an electric kettle plus tea/coffee in sachets: -there were not enough sachets, if one wanted more than one tea a day. And the cups provided were paper!!! Totally unacceptable in a hotel with 4 start pretensions!!!!

Location was perfect and the room was extremely comfortable and big. If I'm ever back in Bologna I will 100% stay there again. Front desk staff were present 24/7 which I always find comforting when staying in a new city and they were very helpful and nice. We checked in early and they were very accommodating and we checked out at very early which was no problem and they offered to call is a taxi to the airport The hotel itself was so beautiful in general and I really recommend it

There was a thunderstorm outside so we decided to head to the hotel bar for a few drinks and wait it out. Bar seemed closed but then a bartender came out who didn't really seem to glad to have us (but i'm not saying he was rude) and we ordered drinks that were not really good. Breakfast was also just OK

Overall the experience was very good, the room was tidy and clean and all facilities were available. It was in a good location near almost every main attractions. But what made the experience 100 times better, was the receptionist girl that worked in the morning shift. First of all with each and every customer she was always smiling and greeting them warmly. She spoke at least 5 different languages in which was very impressive and also she had lots of information about tourist attractions and also guided us how to get to Imola for a concert. She was by far the BEST!

There are only 2 things that I didn't like. 1) The routes around the city and around the hotel were under construction and made the view slightly worse. 2) The late check in. This is mentioned in the description so overall its not the hotels fault, but as we had an early flight and we hadn't slept at all, we had to wait some time to be able to check in.

The staff! From the server we had in the restaurant to the lady that checked us in, such friendly, helpful people. I was on a trip with my grandmother who has trouble walking, and they provided her with a great handicapped room and adjacent rooms for the rest of the family. They even helped me get a cab in the evening after I checked out. The location of the hotel is also incredible, as you step out onto the main shopping street from the entrance. From there, its only a short walk to many of Bologna's most iconic buildings. Really comfortable beds.

The rooms did not have convenient outlets near the nightstands for charging a phone. I would have liked ceramic cups for making tea in my room. Minor nitpicking, really.

Central location - sub 10min walk from station - straight route. Short less than 10min walk from main sights. Maybe 15-20 min from Ponte Vecchia. Super helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms, though hairdryer plug was not snug in socket & kept cutting out. Good variety of options for breakfast - hot and cold. Great restaurants stones throw away

Hairdryer plug did not fit snugly in socket so kept cutting out. We didn’t complain as we didn’t use it too much but did feedback on leaving and member of staff was very receptive. Complimentary Water only provided for first night of stay.

Excellent location, friendly staff, buffet breakfast was reasonably good choice each day. Our room and bathroom was large and overlooked the south facing garden area so reasonably quiet with windows open.

Room air conditioning not effective, we were lucky it wasn't so much of an issue as peak temp was 25 degrees C in April however would be very uncomfortable in the summer. 2 of the many windows opened so that's a positive. Shower in room was great but to get to it you had to climb into an enormous corner bath :) wouldn't suit those with reduced ability.

Very spacious rooms, comfortable beds even for the third person in a room (we've booked two triple rooms), baths were clean. We could have good rest in quiet, well kept and nicely decorated interior after few hours journey. Breakfast was nice surprise as there was quite a large selection of hot and cold. Also coffee was good. It's within 10 minutes walk form train station and also perfect base to look around old town.

As many other guests had mentioned: there was unnecessary confusion about extra tourist or city tax. While you pay via Booking.com you get an information that you've payed whole amount but at the check out they charge you extra few euros. Somehow I was prepared for that after reading other comments but still it would be easer to charge whole during the reservation process.

It was a good central location for exploring Bologna.

I reserved the room and was listed on the reservation as the main person (gender female). But the hotel still displayed welcome Mr. Giacalone on the TV screen (my husband). I could see if he made the reservation or was listed first but they made an effort to welcome the “male” and that was disappointing. And the toilet hinges was broken in our bathroom so the seat slid around. Other that that it was a great stay, the staff were very kind (especially Angelina at the front desk) and we enjoyed our stay.

Handy location, 5 min walk from train station, and 15 min walk from centre of old town. The breakfast buffet was good, with a nice variety of options, all of which seemed fresh. Better than many hotel buffet’s i’ve encountered. Internet signal was good in my room. Needed to “sign in” online every 24 hours to renew access but it’s a basic system where you can just enter a made up name and email address to get in; there is no password required.

Lifts are a bit slow - sometimes quicker to take the stairs. Not the hotel’s fault, but be aware you will be charged the “city tax” on top of the basic fee. It’s not much, but it is extra.
