Excellent location for both walking from the railway station and also walking into the heart of the city

We were allocated a room on 6th floor where the air conditioning system was very poor. We asked at reception how to adjust air con but were told temp was fixed only fan speed could be adjusted. It was so bad that we did not sleep on first night. Next day we were moved to 5th floor and the air conditioning was excellent. On check out the receptionist felt they did us a service in moving us to another room. I felt we should not pay for the first night but she disagreed. We also noted another person had same issue on 6th floor but do not know the outcome.

Location was excellent and near the train station, hotel could store our luggage for pick up for a train later in the day (mark of a fantastic hotel in Italy!), room cleanliness was fantastic (seriously - props!), the provided soaps were lovely, bed was comfy, rooms were quiet after all the tour groups were tucked in for the night (caveat: One night a tour group came back late, and the guide was clearly giving instructions at around 11:30pm and woke us up. I'm a light sleeper.) Overall we enjoyed our stay, but wished the price was a bit more palatable, and included breakfast for such a steep price.

This did not change our stay at all, but think it's worth mentioning. - I'm not normally one to care about landscaping of a building, but after having lived in Italy for several years, I was a but surprised that for a $250+/night room that the landscaping/roofing, canopy's were in such disrepair. The pond/pool out front looks like a swamp, and from the 6th floor the canopy's below looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. The price seemed overly high for the value of the room and lack of breakfast being included. Again, I've traveled all over Italy at all different times of year, and a room this value in many other cities would be $125-$150/night not $250+.

The photos on booking website does not do the hotel justice. The interiors are designed with old grandeur in mind, so while the property may give off an outdated look, it is not. The carpets etc everything is brand new, place is well maintained including the exterior, the gardens etc. The hotel location is excellent, close to the main shopping areas and walking distance to main piazza - actually nice after a nice vino and meal to walk back home. Extremely handy Bologna Centrale train station too so easy to jet off to other parts of the region. The room itself was equipped very well - big rooms, modern bathrooms. They also have a gym, which does is good. Breakfast was ok, typical food you would expect at any hotel.

Stayed here 4 nights in a twin room with a friend - it was a comfortable stay in general. However, only issue was that the air conditioning changes temperature automatically overnight even when you set it at a constant temperature before bed - which means, a few times at night, I had to wake up as room was too hot (like automatically switches the AC switches to 26 degrees). But then after reset to 20, it would cool the room down - not sure, if there is a fault to this. Similarly, the gym temperature was set at 26 degrees and locked (which means guest cannot change the temperature setting of that room - it was way too hot like a sauna) - it is a gym and you want guests to use it without heat exhaustion - something that also needs to be looked into.

It was comfortable and a central location and the staff were very friendly and helpful .

It was a bit tired and needs some general maintenance especially in the bedrooms . Our room showed leaks stains on the ceiling from a water leak above , stains over the bed and over the tv and the same in the bathroom where the cornice and ceiling were damaged . The carpet was grubby and needed a steam clean and was not vacuumed before our stay . There were crumbs on the floor near the chair and table by the balcony door and near the right hand side bedside near the bed . This made the whole place feel unclean ……. Also I hate using paper cups for coffee and not China cups ………….

Staff was amazing. Particularly Eleonora at the counter and Annalissa at the spa. They were so kind and helpful and made our trip extra wonderful. The spa was really great and a great value. The decor of the hotel itself was nice. The location is fantastic if you plan on using the train from Bologna centrale. Very easy to walk to the center of the city.

The shower setup in the room needs improvements. The showerhead in the room would not stay up - it would keep sliding down - and the moveable wall/blocker did not prevent water from leaking out onto the floor at any orientation, so we had to be extra mindful of the direction of the water. Bed and pillows were less comfortable than at other hotels, but fine. There was some constant construction outside so the room wasn’t as quiet as it could be, but no fault of the hotel.

The breakfast was wonderful. The pastries and the selection of fruits and yogurt was plentiful. The sauna circuit was very relaxing. The beds were firm and comfortable. We could connect android phone to the TV.

Pricey for the extras - spa and massage. The washroom had no circulation so it was very stuffy every time we came back to the room. The hotel was full due to basketball tournament, so the wifi got worse the last night and we could no longer connect. I was asked for espresso or cappuccino the first morning but had to ask for it at the end of my meal the second morning.

Located near the train station- the main reason for choosing this hotel- the building might not look much from the outside, but inside is sumptuous! Tastefully decorated, spacious, and helpful staff. I was sure our room would be nice, but we received an upgrade to a suite, and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere quite so grand. Jacuzzi bath a delightful bonus. Breakfast buffet had everything you could want, served in a stunning ballroom amidst chandeliers and classical statuary. Amazing.

To be really picky, bedside sockets were a bit awkward to get to, and the TV wasn’t connected- but I wasn’t there to watch telly!

Location convenient to the train station. Grand, well-kept hotel. Large comfortable room, well furnished room, with a nice bathroom and amenities. Courteous room cleaning staff. Of the many places I've travelled and stayed, I think this was the best and highest quality hotel breakfast spread I have ever had, with good service.

Reception individual who dealt with us on arrival was neither welcoming nor particularly competent. Not able to find our reservation, he immediately suggested it was my problem to sort out with Booking.com and that the hotel was full. Fortunately his colleague stepped in, found the perfectly valid booking and all was sorted. There was no welcome, or info given about the hotel facilities or breakfast. But we worked it out. I believe the aircon was turned off centrally during the night. Is this a common practice in Italy?? Initially cool and comfortable in our room, by the middle of the night we were sweltering, and then aircon was restored for the start of next day.

Overall a really nice hotel, I would recommend it to anyone. It was definitely catered towards corporate guests, but we didn’t feel overly out of place there. Staff were friendly, and we liked both the interior of both the hotel lobby and the rooms. The location was perfect for us as we didn’t want to carry our backpacks too far from the station, and it was only a 10-15 minute walk to the centre

The air con wasn’t very powerful, so the room was very hot. The hairdryer wasn’t great to use, although I probably should have realised it would be one of those small hotel-bathroom hairdryers and brought my own! The room was perfectly clean, but dusty and worn in places.
