Loved this hostel and the staff was super friendly. The view from this hostel is phenomenal and the doors in the female dorm and the mixed dorm with shared bathroom have balconies that open up to the best view, overlooking the main square. In beautiful and amazing to get such a pricey view at the hostel price. That being said, the noise is just as much until late night but I was fine with earplugs and I sleep late anyway. The included breakfast and dinners were a great add on!

Cleanliness could be a little more and curtains could be thicker. My bed light was disturbing people in the room at night as curtains are thin and it was going out.

The hostel is wonderful and has very good and clean facilities, with nice spaces for sharing with people from other countries. The staff are excellent, offering a good breakfast and free pasta in the evening. It has a rooftop with an exceptional view of the historic center and also of Volcano Etna, and there offer excellent cocktails.. Oh, and there's also happy hour for guests. The room I had was in perfect condition. Definitely one of my favorite places in the world to host.

I absolutely loved this hostel. It’s literally in the centre of the city so you can basically walk anywhere from it. This was my first solo trip and the hostel made me feel really safe, the stuff were amazing and very helpful. The breakfast every morning is so free, as well as the evening pasta (8:30pm everyday). On the top there is a rooftop bar where you can chill and enjoy a drink. I stayed there for 4 nights and really enjoyed the whole experience.

The best hostel in Catania. The hostel is conveniently located in Via Etnea - a buzzing and vibrant square in Catania’s old town that overlooks notable attractions such as the noble Elephant monument and the foreboding Mount Etna in the distance. The rooms are stunning and ornate given the hostel being a former palace in earlier days - my room had a gorgeous terrace outside as does the common room so you can eat your breakfast whilst overlooking the notable Piazza El Duomo. What I particularly loved about Ostello was that you have a free breakfast and pasta every day which included generous servings of brioche croissants, a delicious selection of fruits, a hot drink and the renowned pasta alla Norma. This saves the expense of eating out and was a life saver on my first night after an arduous day of travelling. What’s more, you can leave your bags safely in the lockers hours before your check in time which saves the trouble of lugging a bag around. The team at Ostello Degli Eleganti are professional, welcoming and so kind, always greeting visitors with a smile on their face and extremely helpful when giving recommendations to various attractions in Catania. I met so many lovely people here and an very sad to be leaving. I would definitely recommend Ostello Degli Elefanti and will certainly be coming back again. Thank you so so much everyone for making my visit to Catania so special.

Great location. Right between two squares. In a historic building, view from the room balcony to the square, from the kitchen balconies to the passage between the squares.

this is also a minus, in the evening there is karaoke under the windows, in the morning the construction crew starts making noise in the building opposite ☹️ breakfast - had to stand in line to get it, although its composition is almost the same, it is distributed by the guys at the reception. I think it would be logical to distribute it in sets, if the goal is to save money, or to make self-service.

The facilities were Amazing! Plenty of beautiful rooms to interact with other people, ping pong table, football table, lots of balconies with a great view to the main two squares. A roof top bar with a great view to the city and to the volcano - this bar is so popular that you’ll find locals there too. There’s also several rooms for working remotely. Staff were very friendly and made my stay there even better - thank you guys, I really appreciated everything you did for me!

Toilets were not very clean. Toilet paper run out most of the days I stayed there. After I made this comment to a member of staff toilet paper was no longer an issue.

Great, smiling and helpful staff. The interior of the hostel is impressive and there is a lot of space in the common areas. The location is perfect, right in the center, but you have to take into account that it will be noisy. Small breakfast and dinner included in the price (delicious pasta). It was very clear. I highly recommend

Due to the fact that the main square is quite noisy at night, I was there out of season and it was noticeable. It may be difficult without earplugs ;) but you have to take this into account when choosing such a place. The lockers have a very small hole for a padlock, mine, quite small, did not fit.

Great access to everything in the locale, beautiful building, it felt safe and the staff friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast and pasta in the evening, even changing the menu for my dietary needs. I was suitably impressed that they had a choice for female only dorm, too many places do mixed only. The beds were comfortable, had charging points and privacy blinds.

It was just too noisy for me. I'm a light sleeper and the external environment ended at midnight but started again at 05.00am.

If you are going to catania, this hostel is absolutely the best. Located in the heart of old town with a bar at the rooftop (residents can get without reservation and have special prices), a lot of shared spaces that look like you are inside a castle, free breakfasts and pasta for dinner, super friendly and helpful staf, really clean. The only thing I regret is not staying longer! Exceptionally good hostel. (Pictures I upload are taken from the rooftop)

It's really a hostel in the center of Catania. The location is very good, the beds were comfortable. The cafe on the terrace was very nice.

The lockable cabinets were very small and the doors were metal so they were cramped and very noisy. It was also extremely noisy because it was right in the center. It is impossible to sleep without earplugs, especially on the weekend. I brought my earplugs with me after seeing them in previous comments. However, there were people in the room who could not sleep at night. Earplugs should be given to customers as standard when checking in.
