We arrived quite late, check in was a rather strange experience, akin to an arrival at the North Korean border.. Our room was at the top of the hotel up a couple of flights of stairs, luckily we are fit (ish). The location is convenient on the edge of town and parking within the hotel is extremely easy. Breakfast is standard and the cappuccinos are excellent! The girl on the hotel reception the following morning was extremely helpful and gave us some great recommendations for our day.

The hotel feels a little tired which is a shame as the outside of the building is beautiful.

The location, with parking, was a fab bonus, with a short walk downhill into town, which was fine for us, and a good work out after over indulging at dinner. The hotel staff are amazing, very kind and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, pastries, meats and cheese.

The only minus for me was the strong smell of air freshener, or cleaning agent, which was used throughout the hotel and more noticeably in our room. However, when I mentioned this to Alicia on reception, she promised no products would be used the next day, which resolved the problem.

The staff were very helpfull, arranging taxis and booking a table at one of the towns restaurants. The recommended restaurant was superb too. The hotel is a great location to see Matera, even if the walk back up the hill was a bit strenuous, definitely worth the walk.

While out for the evening the underfloor heating came on, we arrived back to a room like a sauna, we had to leave the main door to outside open until time for bed. It was still 23 degrees at 3 in the morning. Needless to say, even though the bed was extremely comfortable there was very little sleep to be had. It was unfortunate, but would not deter me from staying again.

Well,where do I start ! I always find something negative about a hotel but not this one The hotel is beautiful, it is absolutely spotless. The room was big & spacious with a huge balcony to sit out on. The bed was so comfortable & slept really well. Breakfast was amazing & catered for all with, fresh pastries,breads,meats, dried fruits, yoghurts & wide selection of freshly cut fruit,Juices & hot drinks plus many more .... The outdoor pool was a positive addition to the hotel & was cleaned every morning. Private parking was also a plus. The staff were very attentive & looked after us very well. The walk Into the centre took no more than 10 minutes & was straight forward. Alessia was so pleasant & gave us lots of recommendations for our onward travels.( Thank you ) 😊 you are a credit to the hotel. If you need a beautiful hotel to stay in Matera choose this one, you will not be disappointed.

Lovely room with patio on ground floor. Beds were comfortable, but quilts and pillows were all synthetic. There were a lot ants crawling on the desk top and the underfloor heating took a long time to regulate room temperature (although set at 19°C, it got too warm during the night). Breakfast was ok- very carb-heavy. Nothing hot and the meats and cheeses were quite bland. Tons of cakes.

Travelling by car to Matera the hotel was easy to find and with secure parking. There was a lovely pool which was adequate for short stays. The room was clean and thoughtfully furnished. The terrace of our room was huge and while the hotel is surrounded mostly by housing there is a view over the hills to the side. Breakfast was tasty and with plenty of choice.

There was nothing I could think that this hotel could change. Location into Matera was a 15 minute walk downhill but then there was the advantage of easy parking and not having to drive into the centre.

I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel in Matera, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Giuseppe and the ladies at reception. Their kindness and helpfulness truly made our last day of vacation exceptional. We had to leave very early, and they thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us to take along, which we really appreciated. The hotel is a stunning villa with a lovely pool and a beautiful garden. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, equipped with all the necessary facilities. The location is excellent—near the center of Matera, yet wonderfully quiet. I will definitely return to this wonderful hotel. Highly recommended!

The room 104 I stayed in has a mixed furniture between old and new: bed with wrought iron frame, vintage chest of drawers, futuristic bedside tables, TV embedded in a giant mirror. The vaulted ceiling of the room is also impressive. The balcony is very small 1 square meter. I appreciated the clean pool, large enough. Unfortunately you do not find sunbeds but only S-shaped chairs that are not practical for sunbathing. The reception staff is great. I am grateful to Miss Alessia for all the help she has given me.

Matera is built on hills and this hotel is somewhere up. At temperatures above 36 degrees to go up and down steeply, it was not a pleasure for me. I mention that it is difficult to find a taxi in the city. It is recommended a hotel close to the center, by default restaurants. Being a 4 star hotel, the breakfast seems to me to be of the most average level, no hot food.

A very good location for visiting Matara. The Staff were very helpful, welcoming and willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Lovely gardens and pool. Very considerate of dietary requirements.

A garden room would have been preferable to a standard room in the main building for more light and access to outside seating area. Only a very small window in our room restricting the light. No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. We asked to change rooms but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked but we are sure the staff would have changed our room if it had been possible.

The staff are excellent, the hotel is lovely looking, the breakfast buffet is great, the room looked is very good, the pool area was a good place to relax.

The internet has restrictions, couldn’t download kindle book (had to download in cafe at lunch), also VPNs are blocked so couldn’t watch RWC. TV’s are fully encased in a “mirror” so can’t access HDMI ports. The Hotel location is 600m from nearest restaurant (no lunch or dinner in hotel) and 800m from the old city area so many steep walks back to hotel each day. There are mosquitos by pool late in afternoon. The room AC is hidden by the bed but blows on you all night. As I said its a lovely hotel by in several areas design has overtaken function.
