The welcome by Donna Gina was warm and friendly - in fact she was a wonderful hostess. Gina could not do enough for us and could not have been better. Our room was modern, clean and fairly spacious. The bathroom was good with an excellent modern shower. For breakfast Gina was always present at the time we wanted and she would source anything we wanted. The kitchen and fridge were always available and were well stocked with teas, coffee and snacks. Although we seemed to be in a modern part of town on arrival, in fact we found we were only a short walk from the wonderful historic centre.

Parking could be a problem if all the spaces near the flat had been taken.

The private room with its bathroom in an apartment close to the historic center of the city. Very convenient location in a quiet place: 10 minutes walk to the city's old part, 25 minutes to the central train station. The room is small but comfortable and clean. The very friendly hostess met us near the apartment, showed us the apartments, told us how to get to the sights of the city, answered all our questions, and recommended where to eat deliciously. She also personally served a delicious breakfast in the morning. The property definitely deserves the highest value-for-money rating and the best recommendation.

lovely host, room was a little bijou - compact but had everything you needed. parking was free. breakfast was good, you got a choice of croissant which the host brought in the morning. free water was available. the accommodation is about a 15 to 20 minute walk into Matera.

you had to climb 3 sets of stairs to get to the apartment, which meant leaving our heavy suitcase in the car and just decanting what you needed for the night. The 3 rooms are very close to each other, so you need to be quiet.

Overall, the room was fantastic! It’s spacious, spotless, the bed is super comfortable, and it has a hairdryer and everything you need for a short stay. Nicola was incredibly kind—he prepared a delicious, full continental breakfast for us and gave us the best tips for sightseeing and eating in the amazing city of Matera. I would definitely stay at his property again.

The location of this property is excellent. It is a 10 minute walk to the historic centre. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The property has free parking. Our host was most welcoming. He gave us lots of advice about places to visit. Breakfast was very nice and there was lots of juice, yogurt., jams and confectionery.

Stefania had saved us a car park when we arrived at the agreed time. The location of the apartment is approximately a 5 minute walk from the edge of the main tourist area but it is quiet. The room is very comfortable and Stefania provides a lovely breakfast with local goodies provided. Stefania provided us with a map and highlighted the main attractions which were within walking distance. Stefania is a proud resident of Matera and as such is a strong ambassador for her unique but beautiful city.

Gina is absolutely marvelous host - very pleasant, gave us lots of tips. Must visit the terrace on top of the building. The apartment is in a residential neighborhood, 10min walk to city center. It is an apartment split into 3 independent units, kitchen use. Very good breakfast. Easy, free parking, helped by the host.

The room is on the smaller side, but nothing to complain really.

We liked everything about Donna Gina. The check-in process was easy, there was parking at the location for our rental car, and the historic area was an easy walk. Our room was very nice; clean, quiet, breakfast was wonderfull; but most of all we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and engaging with Stephania every morning.

Bruna is perhaps the most wonderful host we’ve ever had at any property in any country. Incredibly helpful with everything. The place is really good too, with a great selection of breakfast, local bread delivered fresh by Bruna. Location is simple perfect! Will not look further if we’re in Matera again. Highly recommended!
