Everything about this hotel is exceptional. If you only have 8 hours in Naples, stay here. It is without doubt the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in. It is an actual, perfectly preserved Neapolitan palace. The decor is authentic, and amazing. The rooms are beyond fabulous, there are frescoes on the walls, and incredible chandeliers in every room. Fredericka who was on reception etc was just amazing, so helpful, and knowledgable about the property. I cannot stress this enough, if you can, stay here.

Nothing, everything exceeded expectations.

Our biggest regret is having to leave Palazzo Doria. This place is out of this world incredible. It’s like nothing you’ll ever stay in again in your life. We truly felt privileged being here and are still counting our lucky stars to the fact we were able to get a room. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, they spoil you and a fully stocked mini bar included in the stay, just topped it off. We’ve been travelling for 5 weeks throughout Europe and booked this an hour before arriving in Naples, for ‘a bed to sleep in’ before we commence our journey home- do not do this! It was by far the best accomodation we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Dedicate a few days just to enjoy this place. Naples is an underrated area full of culture and honestly the most genuine Italian people you’ll meet anywhere throughout your journey. Thankyou Palazzo Doria. We will be back!

Absolutely LOVED staying here! The detail of the decor, accessibility, convenient location, incredible amenities.. everything was perfect down to the tiny details. The staff were prompt and attentive, and made check in/check out super easy as well. 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back, an absolute must when visiting Naples!

The decor was beautiful and so unique, we absolutely loved it. The breakfast room is so special! The staff were all very kind and willing to help in any way they could, including ordering us a taxi and suggesting places to visit during our stay.

Due to the location it can be a little noisy into the evening, especially if you stay at the weekend, but the staff very kindly provide earplugs and we just closed the beautiful wooden doors which was more than enough to reduce the noise. It wouldn't put us off staying again!

Perfect location, elegant breakfast when there is one. Ima, who works there is lovely and helpful.

First morning there was no elegant breakfast. I got a voucher to local bar which didn’t have anything except cookie and small espresso. I was very upset as I paid for this night full price and breakfast included and I felt they made a good joke or scam. Next two days it was up to the pictures on internet. Also the whole room was shaking at night. I am not sure if this were small earthquakes or something going on underground but all the cups and objects were literally clinging on and off all nights including my bed. I forgot to ask staff what it is as I had very intense schedule. It is not sound proof.

We were treated like royalty from the moment that we entered the Palazzo. Sipping a delightful Prosecco during the check-in process was just one of the wonderful details that enriched our experience. Walking through the meticulously restored common rooms from the 1800's was transportive to a more refined time and standing on the balcony from which Garibaldi delivered his 1860's address to Naples strengthened the ties with the Palazzo's historical past and the sense of immersion in a truly magnificent period of history. We had two rooms on the Nobel floor--both of which were exquisitely decorated. Danilo and Alfredo were the consummate hosts. Always ready to brew an espresso, mix an Aperol spritz, arrange a cab, or suggest a restaurant, there was no detail or amount of assistance that they weren't prepared to offer. Their courtesy and professionalism enhanced the beauty of the Palazzo and transformed what might have been a cold museum-like experience into an enchanting memory.

We had a wonderful experience and can not think of anything that could be improved upon.

An insight into a forgotten age, right in the historic centre of Naples! Our bedroom was huge, with a painted ceiling and an enormous gold-framed picture on the wall - but comfortable nonetheless. The staff were extremely helpful throughout: we felt as though we were partly staying in a hotel and partly at a luxury homestay. The palazzo has particular connections to Garibaldi whose bust is in what is now the breakfast room (presumably formerly the ballroom, judging by the gilding). You can enjoy an excellent buffet breakfast whilst admiring his profile!

The hotel isn't actually signposted as such - there's only a brown sign indicating its historical significance. The entrance is through the big doors fronting onto the small roundabout, and the doors are sometimes closed, as the hotel doesn't occupy the whole site (you need a code to get in) - so it may be necessary to contact hotel reception for help on arrival.

Our host Daniello was both gracious and helpful. His English is excellent, and he knows Naples very well. The location is amazing, in the middle of everything and within walking distance of all local attractions and restaurants. The underground and the train station are very close for trips out of town (to Pompeii?). The antique-furnished rooms are very comfortable. There is no desk or table to do work in the room, if that's what you need. But there are public rooms for your relaxation, refreshment and entertainment. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of options. The residence has a large television, a self-service bar and turn-of-the-century pool/billiards table, but we spent most of our time out in the neighborhoods of Naples!

The lift is small and the stairs to the 1st floor number 60, so I think it would be challenging for some with limited mobility. However, it's a 240+year old building so I can't suggest an easy improvement.

Gorgeous hotel/B&B. Every detail is exquisite. Very quiet. Luxurious.

Very busy (and noisy) location. They provide ear plugs and ensure you close the wooden shutters.

Location was fabulous- the history of the building-the frescoes and artwork were amazing, the rooms are each unique and large with great views. The beds so comfortable, the showers were hot and strong. The toiletries fantastic. Breakfast was outstanding in a magnificent room. Free minibar (with Prosecco ) There was a full bar and sitting room- many rooms to sit and relax. Imma at the front desk was so polite and friendly. Fantastic location by shopping and great food and sites. They arranged transport- recommended great restaurants. Like being back in time and staying in a museum of history.
