We could not have wished for a better location to be in! The property is located in the heart of Palermo in front of the Royal Palace and next to the cathedral, a nice, secure and attractive neighbourhood for those who want to visit Palermo! The hosts Simona & Gaetano are literally the best, they have helped us allot by recommending us tourist attractions, wonderful restaurants and even parking places when we did not know where to leave the car! I was amazed by their devotion and kindness! The room was spacious and very clean, just what we needed for our little family of 3. We will repeat surely!

The location is wonderful. Across the street from the park Villa Bonanno and then Palazzo dei Normanni and around the corner from Palermo Cathedral. All the other sites in Palermo are walkable from here. The host was super responsive and available. She provided an excellent list of restaurants and made a reservation on our behalf the first night. The beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend if you are visiting Palermo.

Excellent location, directly opposite to Palermo cathedral. Balcony on a side alley, so not noisy. We loved staying at walking distance from all sights in the old city centre. Though we never met our host Gaetano in person, he was very welcoming and helpful over WhatsApp: he even indicated a suitable parking spot for our rental car; gave valuable restaurant suggestions.

The room was on the small side with a narrow bathroom. Elevator not working (we were warned beforehand). We did like to experience staying in a (converted) apartment in a typical south Italian apartment building, even though there were these practical small drawbacks.

Absolutely loved staying here so much so I extended my stay for a few more days‼️ Simona and support staff are wonderful people and so are the neighbors that I had the pleasure of meeting‼️ The location was everything, right across the street from the Palermo Cathedral, in the center of everything‼️ The City Bus Station, Interstate Bus Station, Railway Station and Tram Station are all situated about a mile walk away‼️ Restaurants, museums and shopping, everything within walking distance‼️

Disliked not having a “lift” aka an elevator readily accessible.

The location was first rate, you couldn't be closer to the major sites, right on the square with the Palatine Chapel and the Palermo Cathedral. The unit was walking short distance from the Real Orleans station coming in from the airport. Gaetano and staff were really amazing. They helped us with suggestions for restaurants, attractions and transportation.

There were a few hiccups that were outside the control of the Unit, such as the municipal water lost pressure on our last day and the trains shut down because of a strike. But we still had a great time.

Loved the location and the friendliness and recommendations from Gaetano. Easy to communicate with the property using WhatsApp. Very responsive. Also enjoyed the neighborhood and “vibe”; it’s across the street from the Cathedral, which is a great place to visit. Walkable to many restaurants and shops.

The STAIRS. There is no lift - and they are very clear about that. Even so, we found ourselves planning our days to minimize the amount of stair-climbing. Please note this property is not handicap-accessible due to the lack of a lift.

We had our first stay in Sicily at Residenza del Castillo, and it was a great experience. The location is very nice, close to everything we wanted to see. Our suite had a balcony with an amazing view of Palermo Cathedral, which was a real highlight. The host, Gaetano, was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Such pleasant and beautiful experiences and hotel haven't happened in a long time. Simona is extremely friendly, she gave clear instructions for entering the building, entering the hotel and the room. I recommend booking a suite, which has a view of the cathedral itself, two balconies and a beautiful room. Thank you Simona for all your kindness. I will definitely return to this hotel if and when I come back to Palermo.

Residenza is at the heart of historical Palermo, just steps away from the cathedral and the Norman palace, and the main pedestrian thoroughfare Via Vittorio Emanuele, a beautiful old street with lots of history, shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel area on the second floor is lovely, well appointed, and secure. It is very quiet for being so central and in a bustling part of town.

Parking is tricky. You have no access to the lot in front with booms but need to find street parking - white lines free, blue lines pay, yellow lines residents only. The host is very helpful with instructions and tips, but you don't actually meet him or any staff during your stay (text/call only). We got really fit climbing up and down several flights of stairs because the lift was not working. The way up is poorly lit with no clear switches (tip: do not ring neighbours mistaking their doorbell for the light switch). Once in the hotel area, you figure out the main lights. The bathroom is just one sliding glass door away from the bed. There is no window view except a narrow alleyway.

I highly recommend. Very good location of the facility, despite the fact that the residence is located in the center, the rooms are quiet and have air conditioning. The host gave us a list of places worth seeing in Palermo, which was very useful because I was there for the first time. Friendly service, very good contact. Unfortunately, I left a few things in the wardrobe that I forgot about, the owner agreed to send them by post, for which I am very grateful as well as for the amazing time in Palermo.
