Location is superb. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. It represents very good value for money. It was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and tons of hot water Yes, it is a little scruffy and the décor hasn't been changed in decades, but I found that kind of charming in its own way. The breakfast room is cosy and the outside terrace (open in warmer weather months) looked very nice. I was very happy with choosing Hotel Umbria.

It was probably the world's tiniest shower cubicle. It would've made more sense to have set up the bathroom as a shower wet room.

This is a charming little hotel, tucked away on an ancient pathway near the top of the hill in Perugia's "Centro Storico" district. This hotel could serve as the stage set for a 1950's detective movie (sans the cyncism of film noir). For example, you return the key to the desk each time you leave. There is no lift. The rooms are small, but comfortable for a short stay. I found the staff exceedingly helpful and friendly, but be prepared, not all speak English.

Despite signs near the main plaza on the top of the hill, and on other roads approaching the hotel, there is no "front oor drop-off" access for vehicles. You can get close via taxi, but the last 10 or 20 yards up-hill will be on foot. Further, when you leave to visit the main tourist areas on the top of the hill, you will need to climb another 20 or 30 yards up a steep incline. It's all healthy walking, but it means it is not a good option for anyone with mobility limitations.

The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help and respond to queries. Even helped when I had laptop connectivity problems. The available breakfast was good value. The hotel is in the old town of Perugia, and conveniently located to all the cafes and points of interest. The town is accessed via the Mini-Metro. Look for the elevator when getting off the Mini-Metro. It is not immediately obvious.

More absorbent towels in the bathroom (terry towelling variety) would have been good, plus a powerpoint near the desk. I realise that with an old building installing electrical outlets is not easy.

Everything. The hotel was tucked just behind the main square very close to the gallery and the cathedral. The staff at the hotel were genuinely welcoming and lovely and made me feel right at home. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and looked after. There are also a range of beverages that you can buy from the desk. The breakfast is perfect for someone who wants to fill and go - a coffee and croissant for €4 is incredibly good value.

The gentleman who assisted us at the reception desk was incredibly kind and accommodating, which greatly contributed to our overall experience. Additionally, the location was ideal for anyone wanting to stay in the historic center of Perugia. (also, good wifi!)

While there were aspects of our stay that could be improved upon, there were still some positive elements. Despite the lack of an elevator, the hotel's central location and attentive service were notable highlights. The beds were not very comfortable and the room didn't seem very clean.

The location was great, near restaurants and sights in the historic centre. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a large TV, fridge, hairdryer, etc. - everything we needed. The breakfast was really good, especially for the price. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Perugia.

Perfectly located in the historical centre. Clean, cosy and also offer good Italian breakfast . The staff was extremely helpful and gave Ali’s a lot of tips in terms of parking and where to go.

As the property is in the heart of Perugia and there is a lot of up and down the hill walk, I would recommend to carry a cabin luggage rather than a big suitcase. The streets are also narrow within the historical centre and if you are planning to rent a car, get a small one:)

Very cosy, small old fashioned place. Excellent location (very close to main square but you do have to go down a short steep little road ). Friendly, helpful staff especially the gentleman who checked us in and was also at breakfast !

Nothing, maybe the size of the room and bathroom could be uncomfortable for a longer stay. Shower was not really modern but for the price it was all fine.

Location is right at the heart of Perugia. Perfect. This is a two-star hotel, which met our needs. No air-conditioning, but we knew that. We didn't expect temeratures of 37C! Breakfast fine for us - we don't do full English. We would stay there again.

Tiny shower cubical - I had trouble fitting in!

Perfect location in the historic centre of Perugia. Comfortable and well equipped rooms. Good value for money and the staff were always friendly and happy to store our luggage on our last day after check out.

The hotel could be modernised a bit as certain things could do with being replaced.
