I really can't say enough nice things about this place or its caretaker, Hamza. The building is in good condition and extremely well located, a few steps from the Campo but quiet. There is a functioning elevator. The welcome is warm and the air conditioning is cold. The water pressure is great. It is impeccably clean. The rooms are large for Italy and stylish. The internet is reliable. There is bottled water and coffee freely available.If you are a maximalist traveller who wants lots of amenities at your accommodation, this might not suit you. But if you want a beautiful place to stay in the heart of Siena with a host who will do anything he can to make your stay more comfortable, this is for you. I'll definitely be back.

This beautiful guest house deserves a 10++ review! Our room overlooked the street which was quiet and a very short walk to Piazza Del Campo. Whilst it wasn’t a huge room it was more than adequate given we were out all day and really just needed a bed to sleep in! Everything about Palazzo Del Papa was perfect, from the beautifully appointed rooms, historic building and the perfect location to the exceptional attention of the manager Hamza. He went out of his way to ensure we had a comfortable stay and was a great source of information about what to see and do in Siena. His best advice was to catch the bus from Siena to Rome, not the train! It was quicker and way cheaper to travel by bus. Thanks for the recommendation Hamza. We will certainly recommend Palazzo del Papa to family and friends. Couldn’t fault the place!

Not that we didn’t like the bathroom, it suited us perfectly, but, yes, it was a little compact.

Superb location—so close to the Campo! Hamza was an amazing host—so helpful in every way! His suggestions for restaurants were excellent.. we felt like family. The premises are spotless!!The bed and linens are high quality. Coffee, tea and bottled water are available 24 hours. Our room was very quiet and attractive. Thank you Hamza for making our stay so memorable!

It didn’t bother us but the bathroom is very compact. It might not be comfortable for larger guests.

This place is truly a jewel in Siena! The location is amazing. It is only steps to the main square, where there are many cafes and restaurants. Yet, it is very quiet and cozy in the evening. Hamza, the owner, greeted us upon arrival and insisted on carrying our bags. He escorted us to our stay as he gave us a brief orientation with recommendations to restaurants and things to do in the area. His place is decorated beautifully and we felt very safe and comfortable. It is actually in a building with residents. My husband and I agree that Hamza is one of the nicest people that we have had the pleasure of meeting and his place is fantastic! Palazzo del Papa will not disappoint!!!

We loved everything about the place!

Fantastic location, superb care by Hamza who is just the nicest host you could ever wish to meet. Everything in the rooms was fabulous and the unlimited water, cakes, tea and coffee were a great addition. The property is so quaint and quirky and we felt incredibly fortunate to be able to stay there. We will undoubtedly visit Siena again and definitely stay in Hamza’s accommodation. We will also be recommending the experience to family and friends, and saying how wonderful Hamza is. Thank you so much!

I stayed here for the Palio and it was very conveniently located right next to the Piazza del Campo. My host, Hamza, kindly showed me how to get into Piazza del Campo during the Palio, and I was able to reach my destination without getting lost. They told me I could take as many bottles of water as I wanted, so I didn't have to worry about drinking water even during the Palio.

Perfect location just steps from Il Campo but quiet at night. Exceptionally clean and Hamza was an amazing host. He met us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Make sure to get his recommendations for restaurants as we lived two he recommended. We parked at parcheggio il Campo and was a 10 minute walk to the car. Easy in and out and he gave us a QR code to save 10 euros.

The property was less than half a block from the Il Campo,Piazza del Campo ‼️This square is the heart of Siena with restaurants and bars and what a beautiful view of the City Tower and where twice each summer it is the site of the famous Palio horse races. Our host Hamza was fantastic and so helpful for any of our needs ‼️

Our stay was brilliant, the room was clean and comfortable. The Aircon worked properly (after having stayed at a few places in Italy in the heat this was a priority for us!) And it was quiet and comfortable. Hamza was also brilliant, helping us find the place and making us feel welcomed and comfortable. He also gave us some fantastic recommendations of where to eat and also helped us in arranging transport to the railway station when we were ready to leave. We will definitely be staying there again. We had such a great night's sleep we had to check the mattress and order one for our home!

It was slightly difficult to find as it's in a building of historical significance so no signage is allowed but Hamza gave us instructions and came to find us (we were right outside and hadn't realised). Not a big deal at all but just something to be aware of when planning how to get there.

The location is superb, within 50 meters or so of the main plaza, convenient to everything. The rooms are newly renovated and immaculately clean. The rooms are located in a condominium complex with an elevator. It does require walking with luggage from the parking area as only locals with permit are allowed to drive in the city. Hamza is a wonderful host, and he communicates very well. This is important to coordinate the parking and check in. Highly recommended.
