Breakfast choices and presentation were excellent, and service was accommodating and pleasant. The view from inside dining area and especially from the outdoor patio was magnificent. Accommodating us with our rental car (and parking) was wonderful. Yes, we paid for it, but knew it in advance, the car was always available to us when we wanted it, and directions for getting into and out of Siena clearly explained. The location, at the foot of the steps leading up to il Campo main square, was fabulous. Most of all, Claudio (owner) and his lovely daughters, Costanza and Ginevra, were always helpful, and their English is excellent. TRAVELERS NOTE RE: OTHER PROPERTIES .... If they are listed as "just outside the city walls" the walk is NOT short nor pleasant. Villa del Sole is INSIDE the walls and is very easy to walk to all attractions -- albeit uphill. This is a very important benefit for those who do not know Siena.

I reserved a standard room, which did not have the large window view I would have liked. But a view room would have cost more, so this minor disappointment was of my own choosing. Guests should realize they are making this choice.

This is the perfect spot to stay in Siena. The location is on the edge of the city, allowing an easy walk to the center of town, but also stunning views of the rolling green hills of Tuscany. The hotel itself has a common area with a coffee & tea station, an indoor seating area for breakfast, and a terrace with stunning views of the city and countryside which can be enjoyed any time of the day. You can bring your breakfast out on the terrace or order aperitivo (drinks and snacks). We loved the breakfast, which consisted of various pastries, fruits, toast, yogurt, eggs (made fresh for you), cappuccinos, etc. There is also a restaurant in the hotel, but we didn't get a chance to try it. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Perfect location that is close to the main places of interest, from the Duomo to shops and restaurants. We chose a room with a beautiful view of the city. Our requested paid parking spot was worth it because it is close by and secure. I enjoyed the complimentary amenities provided in our room, from the shower cap to room slippers. The room was clean and comfortable. They provided a lift so we didn't have to drag our luggage up the stairs. And the breakfast was most satisfying for a picky eater like me. They offered pastries, fresh fruits, yoghurt, hot drinks and fruit juices. The croissants were perfect - crisp flaky crust with soft inside with no rubbery doughiness (like those found in many other places). I also enjoyed the freshly cooked savoury breakfast (e.g., eggs with ham or cheese). The eggs were well-cooked and the ham - yummmmy! Top marks also for the service. The father and daughters team should be congratulated for providing such an outstanding service, which made our stay in Siena most enjoyable.

We loved absolutely everything about this property! The friendly staff, the GORGEOUS room, the views and the brilliant location. Only 5 min walk into the main piazza. Breakfast was perfect with fresh fruit, eggs of choice and all the extras. The bed was THE most comfortable bed of our holiday. Our total favourite was the view from our room. We genuinely loved our stay and wished we had booked for an extra day. Siena had so much to offer in sites, shops, and sips.

The location was stunning, right in the centre only a short walk to the main square and the shops and all the sightseeing. Absolutely beautiful landscape around, I can only imagine how beautiful it looks during the warmer months! (we travelled early March). The breakfast was great, a good selection, plus a choice of eggs done the way you want, meats, cheese etc. Great coffee too. The family that runs the hotel are amazing, very helpful, friendly and professional. Very very pleased and highly recommend this hotel.

The girl at the desk was lovely upon arrival. Rooms are beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Gorgeous view from their terrace. We had a loft room so the air conditioner had a hard time keeping up. ( pretty warm outside) The breakfast was ok. They do not put everything out on the table. You have to order your meat / cheese and they bring it to you. They also offer eggs as well, just have to ask. Otherwise it’s pastries, fruit and yogurt on the breakfast buffet.

I personally prefer a bit bigger selection for breakfast.

We had many heavy suitcases there are many steps to the entrance, no one to help although we arrived before reception closed, normally would have some men to help luckily the reception opened the back door and we were abled to park on hotel only one place outside the hotel on the street so we could trolley the suitcases inside and she kindly upgraded us to the suite room on the ground floor enabled us to trolley in easily, otherwise we wouldn’t like to imagine how we will get into the hotel with all the suitcases to the room from their private parking which we paid below! When we left, there were men helpers.

Only one choice of normal loaf bread in the package which we have to ask for the exact piece from the counter as it is kept behind counter. Can ask for ham, salami and eggs, but not buffet style, only cakes, fresh fruits, yoghurt, tea, coffee are buffet.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were big and comfortable, including the bathroom. There was a skylight in our room though and we couldn’t figure out how to close it the blinds for it, but we didn’t bother to ask the front desk either so that was partially on us. Other than that, the hotel was lovely and there was an outdoor area for eating where the view of the city was beautiful. It was also walking distance to the piazza del campo which had a lot of shops and restaurants around it. Would stay again!

The hotel is conveniently located. With just a few minutes walk, then you can arrive at the centre of Siena. The room has a spectacular view of Siena in the morning. The front desk staff is very helpful in helping us with our car parking. The hotel offers private parking space with a cost.

The room is clean but the decor is a bit dated. The temperature in the room is too high and we wake up sweating in the middle of the night. We need to open the window and switch off the heater completely in order to go back to sleep.

The hotel is lovely. The rooms are spacious and super clean, and the shower was one of the best we had in all of Italy. The hotel sent super clear and helpful instructions for entering the city and navigating the ZTL zone and helping us with our car. The hotel has beautiful views and is in a great location for accessing the city while also being relatively quiet overnight. The staff were lovely and made great recommendations for where to eat in town! We wouldn't even consider looking for another hotel next time and would absolutely stay here.
