Great location just outside of Island of Ortigia. Off of the main road that goes into the island. Very friendly host with helpful information. Small balcony with a nice view of the area. Comfortable beds and very clean apartment. A delicious breakfast with local treats of good quality. We were lucky enough to have a polish couple in the other room which were very friendly during breakfast.

We were unlucky to not be able to find parking spot right outside of the apartment building. The host directed us to streets that we may find a space, and if not to a parking lot. We ended up in the parking lot which was a 5 minute walk from the building. We were able to park right outside to unload luggage and check in with no problems. No elevator. The stairs to the room were a bit tough with luggage and for my 86 year old father :(

Absolutely spotlessly clean, with a tasty and varied breakfast. Our host, Anna, did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and easy, including helping us find a parking space and recommending places to eat. The bed was very comfortable and the room very stylish. We loved the little balcony too.

The down side of being located so close to the Ortigia bridge is that there is a bit of traffic noise from the main road so I would recommend ear plugs for sleeping if you are bothered by noise

This whole property is absolutely stunning on the inside, occupying one floor of Anna's family home. We had an absolutely lovely room, stylish and spotless with a nice balcony overlooking a wide street. Anna, the owner, is lovely and really made an effort to make our stay a good one. She advised us on parking and we were able to find a free space yards away from the entrance. We had our best breakfast here in 3 weeks of travelling Sicily in the cute little breakfast area. Location is great, just over the bridge from the atmospheric old town of Ortigia Not the cheapest B&B but very 'boutique' and in our opinion, worth that bit extra.

The B&B is in a great location. Our host, Anna was amazing - she sent us messages prior to arrival to let us know about parking and made several recommendations for food. There is free parking but it can get busy. The breakfast was tasty with fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, cereal, bread, cheese and meat.

The room smelt damp but it is an old building and perhaps we were one of the first guests of the holiday season. This would not stop me staying here again but just something to be aware of.

Perfect location. Two minutes to Ortigia Island. Many excellent cafes and restaurants just steps away. Delicious breakfast (sweet and savoury) and I loved that Anna had some little snacks and an excellent coffee machine (and coffee!), kettle (and teas) and microwave in the breakfast area that you could enjoy outside of breakfast time. Immaculately clean and very nicely decorated. Very spacious and comfortable room, bed, shower. Anna is a very hard working and lovely host. I would definitely stay again.

Calafatari advertises as a B&B, Thus, my ratings are based on truth in advertising. The place is great, I think maybe 3-4 rooms. Very comfortable. Easy check in. Absolutely, great location to the old Siracusa island area. A block from the bridge. Worth every cent. For us, as an added bonus, there is a laundry mat right across the way. We planned for this and washed our clothes in the evening. There is a cafe next door. You can enjoy a meal while your clothes wash. Big bonus for us to help pack lighter for a 2 week trip.

The location was absolutely amazing — right before the bridge to Ortigia, which made it super convenient to explore. Anna was a fantastic host who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and cared for. We really appreciated her warmth and attention. The breakfast was generous and delicious, and the room was very clean.

Excellent breakfast with choice of meats, fruit and breads. The owner even bought in some decaff coffee for us. Excellent location near to restaurants on Ortyga

The parking can be a bit tricky. Have to hang around for people to vacate a spot. We had to pay 2 taxes. Didn't quite understand why as only paid one tax everywhere else in Sicily

Spacious room for 3 people. It was clean and the host, Anna went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast choices were varied and local. We were very pleased with everything. She helped with our luggage and even kept it for us after check out. The location is excellent.

The only consideration are the stairs to reach the property which is on the first floor. It can be an issue if you have trouble climbing stairs or have large luggage.

Anna, the host, was amazing. So helpful and made us so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were lovely, and used lots of local products. The accommodation was in a perfect position. Easy to get places. A nice area. We would definitely stay there again.

Really it was so good. There was a breakfast room so we got to talk to other guests sometimes. But she spaced visitors so you had the buffet to yourself when eating
