Absolutely stunning property, hosted by the kind, helpful, and magnanimous Francesco. I believe it is newly renovated, as everything inside this older building feels brand new, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The property backs to the smaller Ortigia harbor. Gorgeous front reception area. Beautiful high tech rooms with attention paid to every architectural and furnishing detail. Excellent shower with great water pressure and heat. This was our first shower in more than a month that was completely enclosed so no water leaks on the floor! Stunning floor tiles, draperies, and wall decor. Spotless. High quality linens, and towels. Very comfortable bed. Nespresso, kettle, and refrigerator in room with 2 complimentary waters. Excellent, quiet air conditioning. Great, quiet, central (to Ortigia) location. Excellent daily cleaning service. We couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation in Siricusa, and are already planning our return.

To sum up Fortaleza Charms House in one word: fantastic. A brilliant location, 50 metres from the footbridge to the island, on a quiet road close to all the main attractions and 10 minutes from the station. Good view from the balcony, in a very modern, clean and fresh room. The staff were great, and front of house was Francesco, who was excellent - a font of knowledge and extremely helpful. He really helped, from ordering a taxi to a vineyard, to recommending the best wines and places to eat, nothing was too much. A great stay.

This place is just exceptional. The room was beautiful and so well equipped. It is perfectly situated less than a minutes walk from the bridge to Ortigia . It was quiet and peaceful but so convenient. The bed was comfortable, the towels and sheets luxurious. There were bathrobes and slippers provided, plus a generous sized fridge with water. A coffee machine and a kettle - everything we needed. Francesco is a wonderful host. He made everything run smoothly and arranged airport transfers and taxis, and recommended excellent places to eat. He is a great communicator and you feel very well looked after when you stay here. We will return and recommend without hesitation.

Nothing - it really was brilliant. We are very happy to have stayed here and couldn’t find fault. It rained heavily one day - they have umbrellas which you can borrow and Francesco recommended places to visit in the rain. He found us train timetables when requested.

I can’t tell you enough how welcome Francesco and Silvia made us feel at Fortaleza Charme House. We had decided quite last minute to squeeze a day in Siracusa into our Sicily trip and booked our room based largely on good reviews and great location. We weren’t disappointed! The property was quaint, our room was lovely, and all major points of interest (spectacular BTW) were just a short walk away. Silvia even messaged us a detailed list of places to eat and drink she thought we would during our short stay - we tried a couple and she was right! The housekeeping staff was equally friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we return to Siracusa. Grazie Mille Francesco and Silvia!

The rooms where so big and beautiful location is near the bridge leading to ortiga and Francesco was an excellent host

The location is great, just over the bridge from Ortigia. The rooms are very recently refurbished to a high standard. Our rooms each had a balcony overlooking the working harbour which for us was fascinating as we watched the fishermen at work! The service from the staff was exceptional, they couldn’t have been more helpful with organising taxis, excursions and recommendations for restaurants.

Nothing really - the surrounding streets and harbour are not “shiny tourist” streets but we liked that, and the main attractions are a only few minutes walk away over the bridge

Extremely conveniently located to explore Ortigia and a lovely neighborhood in Siracusa. The host, Francesco, was very helpful and is a super nice guy. The A/C was fantastic, which was a great relief after the heat of the day. We only stayed one night but would have been great for a longer stay too. 10 AM checkout is a bit early but we left around 10:30, and no one said anything to us :)

Free parking is difficult to come by. Francesco arranged for us to use a private garage, so that was very helpful, but it’s 25 EUR per day.

Everything! Great location. Huge, beautiful room. Great views from some rooms. Our room had a city view, not a water view, and our balcony was very nice. The water view rooms are even nicer. Our host was very present, helpful and informative. The place is just across the bridge from Ortigia, where we spent most of our time. It’s also one block away from the hop on / hop off bus to take you other places in Siracusa. There’s also a wonderful pasticceria right around the corner. Delicious!

A beautifully refurbished building in a side street very close to the bridge onto Ortigia island, just a few minutes from anywhere, really. The room took the form of a lovely ground floor suite directly alongside the reception with an amazing feature stone arch between the sleeping and living spaces, all beautifully furnished and decorated, with discrete air conditioning and subtle lighting, and fabulous ceramic floor tiles. A very neatly designed mini kitchen in the living space was useful, with complementary tea, good coffee and water. Francesco, our host, was extremely helpful, pleasant and attentive and a great contact for all the delights of Syracusa and beyond. The building has a roof terrace but we never actually quite got round to making time to see that in our three day stay! I recommend the Fortaleza Charme House very highly, and that you follow Francesco's guidance for a stylish and delightful stay in the city.

Our particular room which was located on the ground floor did not offer a view - the large arched window opened straight out onto the pavement - but this was compensated for by a lofty ceiling, that wonderful stone arch and the general charm of the space.

All credits go to the famous Francesco! We was an amazing person who was massively helpful. He started communicating with me even before I got there and helped with parking, recommendations and reservations. The location is amazing, the place is charming, my room was so spacious and so well designed, there was even a jacuzzi in the room. The lights, colours, Sicilian tiles, and super comfy bed. I loved every minute in the room. Highly recommend it.

There is limited parking since the hotel is in the heart of town and the two other parking spots Francesco suggested for me were full due to G7 happening on those days. So I had to park at a 10 minute distance which wasn’t a big deal. I would still stay there if I go again. Only a slight issue.
