Amazing clean and comfortable hotel in the hills of Sorrento. Being in the hills means that the hotel is quieter and cooler than in the centre of Sorrento. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you

This hotel is about a 15 minute bus journey away from the centre of Sorrento. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel every hour which generally runs to time. When we read the hotel reviews it was mentioned that the hotel was in walking distance to Sorrento however, it is not safe to walk down into the town along narrow windy roads

A Perfect Stay at La Vue d’Or – Sorrento ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at La Vue d’Or from 27th June to 4th July 2025 as a group of four friends, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything was wonderful. The hotel sits about 15 minutes up the hill from Sorrento, but this was never a problem thanks to the complimentary shuttle bus running every hour from 7:45am until 11:30pm daily. In fact, being slightly outside the town meant we could enjoy peace and quiet, along with gorgeous panoramic views over the Bay of Sorrento – the perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday. The hotel itself is authentic Italian charm at its finest – a small, friendly, family-run gem where the warmth of the hosts makes you feel instantly at home. The family who run it couldn’t do enough for us and genuinely cared about making our stay special. Breakfast was excellent every day, with a wide choice of cereals, cooked items, meats, fruit, and more – all enjoyed while sitting on the terrace overlooking the stunning bay. The rooms were spacious and beautifully presented, each with a small balcony to soak in the scenery. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, mostly eating out, but the meals we did have at the hotel were delicious. The pool area was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds, and we especially loved the roof terrace – a hidden gem with comfortable seating, breathtaking views, and a refreshing breeze. We also booked two tours through the hotel – a trip to Capri, and another to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Both were fantastic value, with hotel pick-up/drop-off and an air-conditioned minibus. Highly recommended! La Vue d’Or offers everything you could want – comfort, beauty, friendly service, and unbeatable views. We would 100% return and absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Sorrento.

The hotel was really well kept. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, also very helpful in assisting us with our plans and airport trip. We got a free upgrade on our room and the view from our balcony was exceptional, the location is stunning or views of Vesuvius and the whole coast. Room was great too had everything you needed.

The only small negative I would have is the location with regards to getting to Sorrento. The shuttle bus service is great and very much appreciated. It runs every hour from around 8am-12pm and then 3pm to 11pm. The only setback is that if you miss a bus or there isn't a time that suits your travels, the taxis to the hotel and from the hotel are very expensive for the mile and a half trip. around 50 euros. Although this should not be on the hotel, just a small negative of our trip.

The staff were very helpful. Views are beautiful. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Room is cozy. We got a great price and were absolutely thrilled with our stay :)

The location is somewhat inconvenient. There is a shuttle and city busses to take you to town or elsewhere but difficult to plan around that and traffic especially in the mornings if you need to make a tight connection to a train or ferry.

The property has fantastic views , is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Lovely place to have breakfast which was really good. Staff are all very friendly and will do anything to help. We had a sea view and it’s more than worth that bit extra you pay. Nice pool and a nice quiet area to relax on a sun bed by the pool or up the stairs on a roof top, always plenty of beds available. Being half way up the mountain, you have to rely on the shuttle bus to get to and from Sorrento. It’s runs on a regular basis but can be absolutely rammed coming back at night to the point where all 52 seats are taken And there can be 20/30 standing as well but it’s all friendly.

This hotel was brilliant we were a group of 7 with children in the group. The staff were amazing and accommodating with our requests and very helpful, it is a relaxing place to be. The food was beautiful and the staff were always smiling and very kind to all of us. We were a group from 6 years old to 70 years old and it suited us all. The view was amazing and we were blessed with the weather. The trip to Capri was beautiful and a great time to spend together. Well organised and gave us time to see the island. The free shuttle service was brilliant into Sorrento itself. The rooms were immaculate, the pool area was clean and the cocktails were good. The kids loved the hot chocolate and the ice cream.

We absolutely loved our stay here, what a charming little hotel! The room was lovely, the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the food was delicious and there was also a car park attached to the hotel which was great! We would definitely come back here! A real bonus was the shuttle, which ran regularly taking you up and down from the hills into Sorrento town, a free service that gives you the best of both worlds. Easy to get down into the town and the stunning hillside views!

Friendliness of the staff, who were always on hand to help with advice on day trips and getting around. The breakfast was excellent. Rooms cleaned every day. Offered a free upgrade on arrival for 2 days which we were pleased to take up.

Nothing! A very minor suggestion - would have liked a kettle in the room to make tea.

Wonderful stay. Outstanding breathtaking views. Clean comfortable rooms, delightful helpful staff, great pool area, entire place in immaculate condition. Fine breakfast and restaurant. Shuttle bus was convenient but beware can be overcrowded in evenings returning from town. One small issue is electricity to room is off when you leave with the card key, which means the fridge in the room goes off when you are not there, so you cannot keep any food or drink cold.
