Amazing clean and comfortable hotel in the hills of Sorrento. Being in the hills means that the hotel is quieter and cooler than in the centre of Sorrento. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for you

This hotel is about a 15 minute bus journey away from the centre of Sorrento. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel every hour which generally runs to time. When we read the hotel reviews it was mentioned that the hotel was in walking distance to Sorrento however, it is not safe to walk down into the town along narrow windy roads

The staff were very helpful. Views are beautiful. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Room is cozy. We got a great price and were absolutely thrilled with our stay :)

The location is somewhat inconvenient. There is a shuttle and city busses to take you to town or elsewhere but difficult to plan around that and traffic especially in the mornings if you need to make a tight connection to a train or ferry.

A Perfect Stay at La Vue d’Or – Sorrento ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at La Vue d’Or from 27th June to 4th July 2025 as a group of four friends, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything was wonderful. The hotel sits about 15 minutes up the hill from Sorrento, but this was never a problem thanks to the complimentary shuttle bus running every hour from 7:45am until 11:30pm daily. In fact, being slightly outside the town meant we could enjoy peace and quiet, along with gorgeous panoramic views over the Bay of Sorrento – the perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday. The hotel itself is authentic Italian charm at its finest – a small, friendly, family-run gem where the warmth of the hosts makes you feel instantly at home. The family who run it couldn’t do enough for us and genuinely cared about making our stay special. Breakfast was excellent every day, with a wide choice of cereals, cooked items, meats, fruit, and more – all enjoyed while sitting on the terrace overlooking the stunning bay. The rooms were spacious and beautifully presented, each with a small balcony to soak in the scenery. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, mostly eating out, but the meals we did have at the hotel were delicious. The pool area was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds, and we especially loved the roof terrace – a hidden gem with comfortable seating, breathtaking views, and a refreshing breeze. We also booked two tours through the hotel – a trip to Capri, and another to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Both were fantastic value, with hotel pick-up/drop-off and an air-conditioned minibus. Highly recommended! La Vue d’Or offers everything you could want – comfort, beauty, friendly service, and unbeatable views. We would 100% return and absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Sorrento.

This hotel was brilliant we were a group of 7 with children in the group. The staff were amazing and accommodating with our requests and very helpful, it is a relaxing place to be. The food was beautiful and the staff were always smiling and very kind to all of us. We were a group from 6 years old to 70 years old and it suited us all. The view was amazing and we were blessed with the weather. The trip to Capri was beautiful and a great time to spend together. Well organised and gave us time to see the island. The free shuttle service was brilliant into Sorrento itself. The rooms were immaculate, the pool area was clean and the cocktails were good. The kids loved the hot chocolate and the ice cream.

Friendliness of the staff, who were always on hand to help with advice on day trips and getting around. The breakfast was excellent. Rooms cleaned every day. Offered a free upgrade on arrival for 2 days which we were pleased to take up.

Wonderful stay. Outstanding breathtaking views. Clean comfortable rooms, delightful helpful staff, great pool area, entire place in immaculate condition. Fine breakfast and restaurant. Shuttle bus was convenient but beware can be overcrowded in evenings returning from town. One small issue is electricity to room is off when you leave with the card key, which means the fridge in the room goes off when you are not there, so you cannot keep any food or drink cold.

Beautifully positioned above Sorrento . Nice swimming pool and sunbathing area . Car parking . Lunchtime menu was very good. Bar was well stocked . Bus down and back to Sorrento every hour . Staff were very friendly and helpful . Rooms were clean. We had a quadruple room and it was a good space for us to. I would recommend this hotel .

Nothing really . One thing the bus to Sorrento is shared by 4 hotels and at certain times it will be full and you may need to stand .

This hotel, while somewhat dated, exuded a great deal of charm. The pool area was a lovely spot to relax, offering beautiful views, and the staff were genuinely kind and attentive.

However, a few issues detracted from the overall experience. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, consisting of two small single beds pushed together. On our first night, we found ourselves constantly slipping into the gap between them. Though the staff kindly added a mattress topper upon request, it did little to improve the situation. Additionally, the walls were quite thin, making it easy to hear everything—from conversations and televisions to the sound of toilets flushing—which can be disruptive for light sleepers like myself. The location was also somewhat distant from the town center. Despite these shortcomings, the hotel had its positives, particularly the ambiance and the lovely pool area.

The hotel and rooftop views and hospitality are incredible. Sorrento is an amazing place to be, but sitting above it is even better. There were walking paths, convenient shuttle to downtown, the beach and the best staff. Delicious daily breakfast and a clean room. It was a bonus that Napoli beat Calgary and we got to watch hundreds of fireworks all around the bay of Naples. It was the perfect place to start our Amalfi vacation and we can’t wait to go back!
