The location of the hotel is very good. Torno is about 15 minutes by car from Como. We did not try it but a "boat bus" leaves from the hotel and goes to Como if you do not have a car. The view of the lake from the room was beautiful. The hotel is "in its juice" and quite typical which gives it a lot of charm. The rooms are not very modern but they have the comfort and practicality you need. The breakfast was very good and varied. We also ate very well in the hotel's restaurant whose terrace overlooks the lake.

The walls of the rooms are a little thin, it was not disturbing for a few nights but I imagine that in the long run it can bother. It is not possible to go to the hotel by car (be careful to read the sign at the top of the street of the hotel) which can bother people with reduced mobility. To park your car you have to go to the private parking lot 400 m from the hotel for a price of 15€/night.

We loved our stay at Hotel Vapore — it’s one of those places where you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The staff are outstanding: Manager/Sommelier Osman makes dinner memorable, and host Maria runs everything with warmth and care, and servers like Murat and the whole team treat you like family. The location is perfect — right in front of the port, so catching the aqua taxi is easy. Note: it’s not directly accessible by car; you park above and walk down some steps, but if you’re visiting the Lake Como area, expect a few steps everywhere — it’s part of the charm! The hotel even has a vehicle that runs up and down to help with your luggage, which makes things so much easier, especially with kids. They were super friendly and accommodating with my daughter — that personal touch makes all the difference. Even though many famous people have stayed here, they make every guest feel like a VIP. The restaurant is cozy, with a well-chosen small menu and an unbeatable view — a perfect spot to unwind after a day on the lake. Warm, family-friendly, perfectly located — highly recommended, and we’d stay here again without a doubt!

The staff were wonderful! Both the hotel and restaurant staff were very attentive and helpful. There’s a bus stop about a five minute walk away, so although the location is a little out of the way, it’s easy to get transport to other places. There’s also several food options in the plaza that are less than a minutes walk across the square, and you’re right next to the Torno ferry station. The restaurant is wonderful, everything we ate was delicious for breakfast and dinner alike. The room was very comfortable and spacious, and we had a balcony with a lovely view of the lake.

We did have a few ants in our room, but nothing unmanageable!

Absolutely everything !! I had corresponded with Seka, the lady at reception, received instant responses. When arriving we called the hotel, Maria was extremely helpful. I can't remember the name of the gentleman that we met with. He showed my husband where to park (this is a gated parking area) He explained that we would not need the car while we were there. (Wonderful news) Ferry and buses are available regularly. He drove me and the luggage :) down to the hotel. We both received the warmest welcome from Maria, very helpful and professional. She also provided necessary information about the ferry's, which we made use of. So convenient and close to the hotel. Purchasing tickets, also easy..steps from the hotel. Maria told us about dinner at the hotel and we booked. Servers were excellent, as was the food. The view of the lake was amazing. Very warm and romantic dining area. Free breakfast was included and was amazing! Marianna was so helpful and kind. An absolutely lovely woman. (View from the breakfast dining area, was the lake view as well)She even offered to take a photo of my husband and I.😍 Our room was cute, cozy and clean. The balcony, well it was mentioned 'room with a view of the lake' This was so amazing, the view was brilliant!! So this hotel delivers all that is advertised. Booking out was easy, once again a gentleman (also don't remember his name) drove me up with our luggage. We would not even think twice about staying at this hotel again. Perfection❤

I loved so many things about our stay at Hotel Vapore, the staff could not do enough for us and we were always greeted with a smile. The hotel itself is beautiful, absolutely spotless and had a sense of romance about it. The restaurant is a feature all on its own, the meals from breakfast to dinner were to die for. I would recommend this to all, a must destination in Italy. I will return.

That I didn't book longer, we had 3 nights, I could've stayed a week at least.

Hotel Vapore is charming and welcoming. Moreover, its location is perfection. One cannot help but relax and just enjoy the beautiful views and surroundings. The wine list is impressive and the restaurant dinner was good. Breakfast was excellent (including the coffee).

More choice of traditional Italian dishes would be great on the lunch and dinner menu. However, if you ask for something specific then the waiters and kitchen staff always attempt to create something especially for you 😎

Parking was a mess. Needs a renovation, hasn’t changed since 1985 our last visit.

Four nights at this wonderful hotel was the perfect start to our tour of Italy. Our hosts and the entire staff were friendly and helpful. Fabulous location with views of the lake from our beautiful room, which had a small balcony. The breakfast was delicious as was dinner. Only a short walk to the ferry.

The stay would have been even better if tea and coffee making facilities were included in the room.

Beautiful, charming and traditional hotel with amazing views. Reception staff were so friendly and the restaurant was wonderful with excellent service. Perfectly clean. This is a rustic but authentic hotel - easy to get the ferry or bus from Como. You can access the lake from the front of the hotel. Definitely recommend
