Communication via Booking messages was smooth, but when we arrived, it turned out the owners weren’t there, and we would have been waiting if it hadn’t been for a neighbour who told us they run their own bar nearby and suggested we go there. The owner is very friendly and always smiling. The house has a rustic style and a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was prepared by the owner in her garden, mostly using homegrown products and mainly sweet options. There is no Wi-Fi at the property, and there is no parking space, so you need to look for paid parking nearby. Our stay was enjoyable overall. I would recommend installing a key box with a code for situations when the owners need to be at work when guests arrive.

Nice apartment in small town with a view to the lake. Beautiful bedrooms, two upstairs, one downstairs. Breakfast was brought to apartment because it was too cold in the garden. Breakfast included home made cakes and jam. Spacious parking space but not next to the apartment.

Note that there is no living room and only one bathroom which is upstairs.

lovely place, excellent hostess with delicious breakfast!! only one bathroom and shower little claustrophobic. rooms not sound proof you can hear anyone in the kitchen.. comfort beds, only one room with separate single beds. overall would recommend!

This was our second time at Paola’s place. She is a lovely hostess, and nothing beats her garden breakfasts!! A highlight of our stay on Lake Como! We also love an early morning dip in the lake, very accessible from her house!

We arrived during an Italian heatwave! No air conditioning made for difficulty sleeping, though the many fans Paola provides made it bearable!

Gorgeous location with the most breathtaking views! Very rustic traditional old property with lots of character... The owner of the property is such a friendly woman and the breakfast was plentiful.

Breakfast was delivered to the kitchen of our accommodation and there was a generous amount! It included local specialities and homemade preserves and cakes. It was delicious! Views from the apartment were fabulous. There was a bus service nearby but not that frequent, so we mainly used the hire car.

We were told by other holidaymakers that taxis were quite difficult to get to come to Carate, hence we mainly used the car. Would have liked a few more restaurants within walking distance

The breakfast was exception. Camilla offered freshly picked fruits from her garden. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for cozy stay. Both Camilla and her husband made our stay memorable. Looking forward to coming back again :)

The hosts made the trip! It’s a bit out of the way from the crowds so it’s not a choice if you want to be accessible to the main towns, ferries are complicated and taxis are expensive. We had a wonderful time exploring the local villages with the hosts & eating at the hosts cafe down the road. breathtaking views but not too far up the hill!

we have 2 children and a baby and it was a bit challenging to get from the car but other than that it was great

Very lovely owner and the breakfast was superb. Home made, big selection and fresh to start the day, Parking was top and room was good.
