Completely uninterrupted views of the lake, we didn’t find a more beautiful spot for the view. The Villa is stunning and has beautifully maintained gardens and pool area. Staff were attentive and friendly. It was nice to have access to the small private beach to swim in the lake. Breakfast was nice, we didn’t eat at the restaurant as we preferred to explore and find a busier atmosphere. If you like very exclusive, this is for you.

Located on a busy road, about 20 minute walk (if you’re brave enough) to the main town with train station and ferry port, we didn’t mind but keep in mind if you don’t have a car and want to explore other towns on the lake or visit other restaurants/bars. Our door handle on the room was broken for the duration of our 3 night stay, would have expected more from a 5 star hotel.

Amazing Villa with a 5 star views of the Lake and restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and all the amenities were great, including the pool and the garden. Location is also very nice, walking around town was very pleasant.

We had some issues with the shower, if we wanted to use the big shower head, the whole bathroom was getting flooded. Also hot water was not available one of the evenings, and nobody reached out to us to tell us, until I called reception to ask. I'd expect better for the money we paid.

Absolutely wonderful stay. My wife and I visited for our honeymoon, and were treated like absolute royalty. The property itself is gorgeous, with sweeping views of the lake. Our room was finely furnished, and had a large circular window looking out directly onto the lake. However, what really stole the show was the service, in particular, the concierge Lurde. She is so friendly and knowledgable and kept us from making more than one travel blunder. Yes, Villa Lario is expensive, but we felt it was more than worth it.

A few things - Villa Lario is not easy to get to, and you have to take a taxi to get to the main ferry stop in Varenna. It also would've been a bit better if there was a cheaper dining option on site. Amandus, the restaurant, is very good, but it is an upscale restaurant.

The hotel was stunning and the staff were very helpful. The drinks and food were amazing and they offered a hotel taxi service for less than any other taxi you could book away from them.

Even though the gardens and pool are stunning, they had hundreds of flies on the pool furniture that made it impossible to use. It was probably because of the time of year and it was hard to control nature being so close to the lake.

The resort was outstanding and we had a wonderful time. The view from our room was exceptional. The reception staff were very helpful in suggesting restaurants. The restaurant staff were very attentive.

I did think the drinks at the pool bar and in the grill room were a bit overpriced.

This is one of our favourite places in the world:) we love Lario and all of the stuff, we had our wedding here 5 years ago and the place is just stunning as well as its amenities, food and people who takes care of the guests) thanks a lot to Lurde, Alice, Thomas and chef Luca for making our stay superb and making us feel that we are welcomed. We feel like we are at home when visiting Lario.🩵

Beautiful lake-facing property. Had one of the two rooms built into a cave on the water which had a fun mini private beach/jetty area. Very lucky to be here in the first few days of the season in Spring with sunny weather. Splashed out on the tasting menu with wine pairings which was a very memorable special meal.

This hotel provided us with a perfect stay next to the lake, they were kind enough to upgrade our room upon arrival as we had our 9 month old baby with us, the grounds of the hotel are really beautiful and scenic, the staff were all wonderful and because of the limited number of rooms it felt very private. we were interested in doing some hiking in nature and managed to find a couple of lovely paths not far from the hotel, would happily recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

They have a beautiful restaurant in the hotel however we just felt the food fell a bit short of our expectation when we had dinner there.

The villa is absolutely beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. The grounds are beautifully kept and the view is breathtaking. The rooms are very clean and stylish. We stayed in a converted cave room which was very different and so unique.

Dreamy boutique luxury hotel on the Lecco side of the lake. It had only a few rooms and give the feeling of home away from home. Very exclusive, a hidden gem Property absolutely stunning. Beautiful view overlooking the lake with a very extended and well preserved park with a fantastic pool. We had the suite with the terrace and having breakfast on the terrace with the lake view was amazing. Very relaxing place and fantastic service We will definitely be back!
