This is a beautiful hotel with fabulous rooms, in a wonderful location on the lakeside, it is so well run with lovely staff who are all so friendly and helpful, the restaurant serves excellent food and across the way is a ‘sister’ restaurant which is owned by the same family and is also excellent, it is right next to a regular ferry service to Como and many other locations around the lake. Torno is very quiet and maybe a little isolated but the ferries and also the buses, which can be extremely full, mean you can get around the area easily.

For us everything was perfect!

- the room was very spacious and spotlessly clean - the view from the room cannot be better - it was just perfect - location cannot be better - the ferry stops literally in front of the hotel. And the village itself feels so authentic! - staff was very polite and competent - the restaurant of the hotel was absolute top notch

If you enjoy sleep-ins the noise of the boats / ferries may wake you up. They start from 8-ish in the morning and don't operate at night so no issues even for light sleepers like me.

The location of this property is right on the water, which was my one of my reasons for booking our stay here. The view from our suite was just breathtaking! The property also offered breakfast and there was a restaurant onsite that was very lovely with a beautiful open view of the lake. The people on staff were very helpful and accommodating.

I opted to book the Deluxe King Suite with a terrace, and while the view and size of the room didn’t disappoint, unfortunately the size of the bed did. The bed is advertised on Booking.com as a king sized bed but it is in fact a full sized bed. There was just barely enough room for two people to sleep comfortably. I addressed this issue upon check-out and was told the difference in sizing was due to the fact that European beds are a bit smaller than American beds. However, I think this should be corrected on Booking.com as it is misleading.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The room was great and we had a view and a terrace that looked out to the Piazza. The staff were beyond wonderful and kind and helpful - from the front desk people to the restaurant people to the person who cleaned our room every day. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The town is lovely. We took a short boat tour on the lake with a wonderful guide. I'm so glad we stayed there and hope that we will be back.

We had an unusual situation where we were travelling for awhile before we arrived and needed to do some laundry. We did it in the room and dried it on the towel warmer but we should have asked about using a clothes dryer or laundry service. This was nothing against the hotel - we just never asked about it. We still got it all done! Thank goodness for the towel warmer!

Il Belvedere is located in small town called Torno on the shores of the Lago di Como. Location of the hotel is right on the shore and you have a look on the small marina with boats. Room had a lake view on the forementioned marina. Staff is exceptional: a) we were a bit late after the check-in time because of a crash on Milano highway but there were no problems, they even helped us with carrying luggage from the car to the hotel because parking lot is hundred meters from the entrance to the hotel, b) we were able to reserve a late dinner, c) on the short notice they helped us with printing tickets for Fiera Milano. Great service all together. Restaurant is cozy, dinner meals were delightful and wine was good. I would recommend it if you want to be away from the bigger cities like Milano or Como, right at the lake, with great view on the lake and surrounding mountains.

Everyone in the staff was exceptionally friendly and hospitable. From the minute I stepped inside, the lovely ladies at reception were expecting me and prepared for all the ‘wish list’ I had messaged them about prior to arrival. The dinners at the restaurant were exceptional- delicious, friendly staff and incredible views of the lake. During the day when you want to explore around the lake, the hotel is located in front of the ferry stop. And if you want anything outside the menu of the hotel, the cafe nearby has everything. Do not hesitate to book here, I will definitely be back again

The breakfast menu and coffee machine was not my taste, but thats my personal take. I enjoyed breakfast in the cafe next door instead.

The best service I’ve received in a hotel anywhere. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely appear to enjoy helping every guest have the best experience. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, there was an elevator for bags, 2 restaurants, a great pizza place (hole in the wall) and a bar + ferry nearby. The continental breakfast in the morning every day was great and I recommend the veal Milanese + Ben Rye dessert wine for dinner. Top tip - make sure to call the hotel in advance with your exact arrival time to get a small jeep to pick you up as it’s difficult to access the hotel down a steep hill).

No gym. Ferry times were limited.

Chiara and the front desk staff were very very helpful and very friendly. Torno is an adorable town and this hotel has the perfect location. Amazing view from window. Room exceptionally clean and beds very comfortable. AC worked well. Breakfast in a lovely room w a view. Parking was easy and a very nice gentleman will help you get into lot and then drive luggage to hotel.

Restaurants had amazing views. Food was good but not amazing. Service at the main restaurant in hotel better than at Vapore. Our waiter at Vapore made us feel rushed to order, but meanwhile main course took almost an hour to come out. Would absolutely stay at hotel again but not too sure about restaurants. Wish they didn't try to be so 'foodie' as perhaps food would be better and match the quality of this little hotel which is incredible.

The Il Belvedere is a true oasis of peace and tranquility. You will be greeted warmly upon arrival and cared for with genuine sincerity throughout your entire stay. Located directly on the lake, you will experience a visually picturesque and auditory feast from all angles! The property is perfect for relaxing and point of return from exploring which is easy to do through various means of reliable transportation available. The Il Belvedere is an extension of its natural environment, both rustic and elegant. You feel connected with the vibe of the lake and its town, Torno. And the cuisine of both of their restaurants is amazing!!!

There is absolutely nothing not to like or love about this property! It is just a perfect place to rest and enjoy.

The hotel is truly lovely and so, so clean. The staff is really the highlight though. What a delightful group of people working there, from the owners to the front desk staff to the waiters - everyone was so kind and helpful. They really all work together so well, it made the whole stay warm and familial.

This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I booked our stay at Il Belvedere because there is a ferry stop right outside. Unfortunately the dock is being renovated and so the ferry doesn’t come there. We were sort of stuck there unless we wanted to drive, so we didn’t see as much of the lake as we’d hoped. Also, our room’s thermostat and temperature control was not working properly. We were very warm, and leaving the windows open isn’t possible because of the noise outside.
