Francesca gave us a very warm welcome on arrival & although we arrived in the morning, she allowed us to leave our luggage until check-in time. She was very friendly throughout our stay and offered plenty tips eg the vaporetto stop at Madonna dell’Orto from where you can reach Murano & many other stops around Venice, it is a really convenient way to get around & see Venice from another prospective. Francesco also told us about the Traghetto, a €2 gondola crossing of the Grand Canal at 3 locations- a great tip to get that IG gondola photo. Very easy to find & only a 20min walk(with luggage) from the Piazzale Roma bus station. Fantastic location in Canneregio just a few steps from the vibrant canalside bars/cafes/restaurants on Fondamenta de la Misericordia/Fondamenta de la Capuzine. The hotel had a lovely breakfast area with some tables at the canalside. All members of staff from reception to breakfast servers & cleaners were very friendly and always wished us “Bon giorno”. The room was spacious, clean & comfortable. I would definitely stay at Al Mascaron Ridente if I visit Venice again & recommend to anyone planning on visiting Venice.

Beautifully decorated room with exposed brick from its original use as a sugar refinery. On check in we were given a map that the hotel had had modified and featured their recommendations and itineraries. Some local information was given to us which proved to be very helpful. Location is along a quieter canal with a more ‘locals feel’ which was lovely. It was about 5 mins max from the busy tourist streets. Venice even in March was busy so the peaceful nature of this hotels location was very welcomed.

Soundproofing in the room was amazing. Couldn’t hear any adjacent rooms once they were in the room but could hear them when they were in the corridor. This wasn’t too much of a problem though as we never noticed it after 9pm or before 8am.

I had a very pleasant stay at this 3-star hotel. It offers great value for money, with a convenient location and plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were polite and helpful. While I understand it's a 3-star hotel and didn’t expect luxury, the breakfast could be improved. The selection was quite limited—mainly few pieces of cheese, ham, boiled egg, and some heated pancakes. Additionally breakfast you need to request the day before. Otherwise, the standard breakfast includes just coffee, some baked goods, and fruit, which felt a bit minimal. Apart from that, everything else was great.

Nice little hotel located 10minutes from city center. The hotel is easily located and they informed you about all the details of arrival, departure etc via messages in this platform which is incredible helpful. The personnel working there are exceptionally polite and really really helpful. The rooms were cleaned adequately and provided all necessary amenities.

The only thing i did not like, but it is purely dependent on my personal view, is the fact that the breakfast is served in a very small room, the tables are really close to each other and is a bit uncomfortable. Other than that which again is my personal view, everything was ok.

Everything! Beautiful little boutique hotel in a small private piazza. From the moment we arrived the concierge Francesca not only booked us in with warmth and efficiency, but then whipped out a paper map and pointed out possible places of interest, warned us about the unreliability of GPS in Venice and organized for us to get the breakfast option which we hadn’t pre booked. She later on hooked us up with mosquito repellant when we opted to sleep with the window open (all those canals!) The hotel itself is located in Canareggio and as you step out you will have a ton of options for place to drink and eat including divine ciccetti. You will see other tourists but it isn’t drowning in touristy souvenir claptrap. We actually drank and ate right next door every night! As you walk out to the canal there is an awesome spot immediately on your right. note during the day you will see no sign of it lol Everything felt incredibly walkable - we never rode the vaporetto even once as it was a beautiful stroll which every direction we came from. Breakfast - our favorite breakfast out of an entire 5 week vacation! You fill out a form to compliment the general buffet. so you can grab fruit and croissants (best we had on this vacation and yes we were also France!) and juice and coffee or tea and then other items are made to order and served to your table like delicious bacon or pancakes. The dining room has large windows that look out over a canal and has a partial glass floor. The hotel itself is beautiful to be in and look at. There is a small open air atrium, lovely art on the walls, exposes brick and beams and incredibly high ceilings. Little additionals like a restroom in the hallway make for an extremely comfortable stay. Water pressure was good, Hot showers were lovely. Welcome little extras like racks allowed us to hang our socks to dry and there was even a shower stool. Eco friendly. 24 hr access with code.

Toilet paper is eco friendly so if you like a softer touch maybe bring your own!

The location is amazing! So many lovely little bars and restaurants nearby, and you can walk to the busier areas easily. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, too. Really loved our room and we were able to check in early which was so helpful. Had the most amazing time. This is absolutely not a criticism of the hotel, but just a note for other guests in case they find it useful: if you are getting the airport water bus then leave plenty of time, as the closest stop is the last one before the airport and it can get busy. We were unable to get on the first boat we tried to as it was too full. Luckily we still had time before our flight and managed to get on the next one, but that was at capacity once we'd got on it as well.

Absolutely everything. Great communication before traveling.. Excellent check in, staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely place to stay, 15 minutes walk from train station and about 8 minutes walk to water bus to the airport.. What's not to like. Breakfast was superb as were the ladies in the breakfast room. Always very polite, helpful and smiling. Breakfast was well catered for. Hotel was about 15 minutes walk from 'main' area but plenty of restaurants and places to grab a drink nearby. I had no hesitation. as a solo traveller, in walking around the streets at night. In fact I loved doing that. Can't recommend the place enough. Many thanks

We enjoyed the stay very much and would come again anytime. We had a canal view room in the annex and no noise due to the location at the end of the hallway. In the morning we had a beautiful view of the canal and a mystical silence. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and prepared a great breakfast table for my father's birthday. The location is unbelievably good as you are within 450 meters to a boat stop that goes to the airport. About 800 meters away is the F.te Nove stop, from which many lines arrive. The Rio Grande is also only 450 meters away. The alley in which the hotel is located is surrounded by great restaurants and bars. It is quieter area that is still lively. The parallel alley is also beautiful and spared from tourist crowds. The breakfast is absolutely adequate - I really enjoyed the pancakes every morning! Thanks for everything. :-)

The water jet was a bit weak and the toilet seat loose, but not really worth mentioning and will certainly be repaired. :-)
