Our stay at the hostel was generally ok. The location is beautiful, the hostel itself being somewhat part of a church and also a historical landmark. It is right on the canal in a very quiet part of Venice. Near the hostel is a really cool bar and also some really nice restaurants. Our room was very clean, the bathroom too. The staff was extremely nice, friendly and available during the day.

The only inconvenience was the heating. We stayed in a room with no heaters and the first night was quite uncomfortable because it was literally freezing inside. We got extra blankets and so on but the staff moved us in another room for the next two nights, so the problem was somehow fixed. We didn’t really find it appropriate that they gave us the room knowing that it doesn’t have any heating system (we visited in December and the temperature outside in the evenings was always between 0-1 Degree Celsius). We appreciate though that the staff was prompt and listened to our request to get another room.

I loved the room and the facilities with a full equipped kitchen and courtyard, which makes this place one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Also the location is incredibly helpful for reaching anywhere in venice with out any problems. Hostel rooms were also clean when we arrived with no problems in the room found a perfect stay.

With the rooms having no aircon, they provide fans which kind of help. But if you can't handle italian heat, I would recommend pushing your budget to grab accommodation with aircon. As it is quite unbearable to sleep in and kind of gave us a lingering dread to return back to the room.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Elisabetta waited late to check us in after our train was delayed which was greatly appreciated and was welcoming. Location was ideal, 15 mins walk from station and walking distance into centre. Recommend the street of bars/ restaurants directly behind the hostel. Courtyard was a nice large area to chill out. All round great value for money in Venice.

It is essentially student accommodation rented out as income for the university so walls are thin and rooms basic. Didn’t bother us as this is what we had expected given it was just a place to sleep. Don’t think there will be many better options in Venice for travellers on a budget

This place is one of, if not THE most beautiful hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff are very friendly and the location is excellent - if you're in good shape and enjoy walking, you're gonna be able to walk to all the main sights. For our three day stay, we didn't need to take any public transportation except for going to the other islands. What's most stunning is the place itself - having breakfast under trees within this old monastery's garden or sipping on some supermarket-bought drinks while sitting at the bank of a little canal is possible without even leaving the premises.

Of course, for a hostel, this place is not the cheapest - but for Venice, it is good value for money. Also, with the kitchen and everything, you'll encounter the usual cleanliness issues that probably all hostels face - but nothing severe. Reception only opens at 1 pm and there is only a non-locked, unsupervised luggage storage, so just keep that in mind. So overall I'd say: If you're looking for luxury, this is the wrong place for you, but if you're looking for a charming little place to start your adventure in Venice, you're right here!

An absolutely amazing hostel! Cannaregio is the perfect neighborhood to stay in Venice for a calm, local escape from the craziness of San Marco and San Polo. St. Mark's Square + Cathedral and Doge Palace is around 30 min by foot, and Fondamenta de la Misericordia, one of the best streets for an aperitivo and spritz is less then 5 minutes away. The shower and bathrooms were clean, rooms had lockers, and beds were not bunks which was a pleasant change. The hostel has free tea and coffee and a fully equipped kitchen.

Excellent location. A straight (!) and easy walk from the train station, in a quiet area but near to non-touristy restaurants. Supermarkets quite close, including a large SPAR supermarket inside a former theatre. Kitchen facilities with all the needed appliances like microwave, pots, plates, utensils. Common fridge where you can place items with your name on it. They also provide cooking basics (salt, oil, vinegar, spices) and pasta and tea. There is a vending machine with snacks and drinks. They have a table where other guest leave their unneeded for that you can take. Games and books available in the common area. Very friendly and helpful staff, before and during my stay. Each guest is given a large cupboard/closet with hangers and a key to lock it. You can leave your luggage after checkout for no cost...while it isn't monitored or locked, it is near the receptionist. Each guest has their own lamp and outlet by the bed, and many have their own mosquito zapper in the outlet as well. The hostel has history (Gallileo stayed here) and gardens (rare to have much green in Venice), and proceeds support students in Venice. As an older traveller I enjoyed the calm rather than the party atmosphere of some hostels. It was an excellent value for the money and I would stay again.

I would have appreciated shelves in the showers to hold my toiletries.

Very spacious rooms with single beds, spacious locker. good facilities, shared kitchen, good wifi, good location. Hostel is beautiful.

I found the number of showers to be very small, which must be difficult during high season. The bathroom drain was almost clogged, which caused the shower to flood, so it's worth paying extra attention to cleaning it. One thing that unfortunately can't be fixed is the hospital smell in the hallway and the room smells of humidity. Over time, you get used to it and it stops bothering you (its not so strong). I didn't think it was a big problem because the other positive points make up for it.

Great place to stay. The rooms are spacious, everything was clean. It is comfortably warm in rooms and bathroom, which was crucial for me while traveling in winter. They have the most equiped kitched i've ever seen in tostels. It's only 20min away from shuttle bus and railway station as well as from the center, like San Marco square. Nice location with bars and supermarkets nearby.

I was in the separate building and the internet wasn"t stable there, as the hot spot is located in the main building.

The hostel has a beautiful garden area to spend some quiet mornings and also loved the common space and their kitchen. The dorms were also pretty comfortable and clean. It take around 20 mins and enjoyed the walk from the train station to reach the stay. The staff is also super friendly and had a good time chatting with them and knowing more about Venice

The shower area could have a shelf to keep your toiletries. Also if there can be like a name plate or signboard to indicate where to press for exiting the hostel.

Location is in venice convenient to roam around and reach hotel when ever we can. They have common amenities like kitchen which has fridge, stove and all vessels we can use, they have even kept pasta for do it ourselves that felt good. At entrance they have aqua cols water dispenser which also dispenses juices for free which is also feel good facility. Of course common seating areas, bathroom and luggage deposit options. Room was decent.

No curtains in room and bathroom. No towels provided.
