The location was excellent and air conditioning was brilliant given the very warm weather on our trip. Inside the room was spacious, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfy and even better once we managed to get a second pillow after the first night. The breakfast was lovely and enough to set you up for a day of exploring. The host was welcoming and gave us great tips on what to see, highlights to visit and restaurant recommendations.

The shower itself was great and good water pressure. However, the cubicle was a little tired and the corner opening could be a little tight if you are on the larger size.

Don’t be put off by the outside of the building or that it is next to the fruit & veg/ fish market barely can tell your next to it or hear any noises. Highly recommend this b&b the host, Alessandro, could not be more welcoming and accommodating. He messaged us before our visit with the check in information and how best to get to the B&B from the airport, recommendations during our trip and was always available to help. This b&b only has 3 rooms and all have a very Venezia/historical feel to them and very tidy spacious and clean. Location was perfect- 3min walk to the Rialto bridge which in my opinion is the best location as close to tourist and restaurants however not too close to the hustle of san Marco which is only a 10min walk. We could even get a water taxi pretty much outside our b&b to the train station on the way back so didn’t even need to cross the Rialto bridge. Breakfast was a light option however this is normal for Venice and there was plenty of choice down to crossiants, meats & cheese and yoghurts etc. there was also a coffee machine in the kitchen we can help ourselves to. We would high recommend the Antico Mercato to anyone planning a trip to Venice!

I love everything about Antico Mercato and I'm so glad I booked here for a 2-night stay. Alessandro got it touch previously with all information needed for self-check in (which was very easy). I arrived early but was able to drop my luggage and come back later. The location is awesome. I walked from the train station to Antico Mercato (20 min walk, felt it was easy with a carry-on). Just a few steps from Rialto bridge, which was also VERY convenient to take the vaporetto for the airport when I left. The place itself is lovely. It's an old house, but feels very renewed and cozy. Decoration is lovely, room is spacious, every corner was clean. Breakfast was amazing. I couldn't finish it! Plenty of options in a fridge at the kitchen and there's more inside the room! Sparkling water available at the kitchen, which was great for me. Wi-fi was not always working properly (specially when trying to watch something on TV) but no big deal, you're out most of the day anyway. Alessandro provided a map and wonderful tips for places to visit during my stay and totally made a difference during my trip. Would love to go back.

Great location in the heart of Venice. Loved to have a sauna! It’s a really small one (max 2 people, sitting position) but the place has just 3 rooms so it can get too busy. Bed was big and really double, not two single mattresses like you get in general. Comfortable bed and good shower. All very clean, bed changed everyday. Really big attention to detail by the owner, we even got a bottle upon arrival as I had mentioned we had our couple anniversary :)

Breakfast is self service and basically cold version. The owner leaves stuff in the little fridge at disposal. You need to make your own coffee and everything yourself, in the common kitchen. We preferred to go out for breakfast rather than preparing everything ourselves while on holiday. But that’s ok, it’s not actually a hotel so I should have expected. If I had understood, I would have taken a no breakfast option.

Well located for many tourist highlights … Markets, Rialto Bridge, Doge’s Palace, Gondolas, many restaurants and interesting sights. Easy access to public Vaporetto on Line 1 from St Lucia Train Station. Wonderful supplies for a hearty breakfast including eggs, salmon, yoghurts, pastries, toast, coffee, juice & sparkling water on tap, in addition to supplies in our room. Our host Alessandro was very pleasant & helpful. The room was spacious and well appointed with a modern bathroom.

Not much … stairs to climb with our luggage but Alessandro also assisted with that.

Alessandro is the perfect host. He really cares that you have everything you need to make your stay the best it can be. He goes above and beyond to help and advise you about the area and where best to go. The bed was super comfy and large. There was a really good shower, well stocked tea/coffee making facilities and a lovely breakfast. The place was spotless. The location was perfect. Close to many of the main attractions but in a quiet and peaceful street.

I honestly can't think of anything. We had the best time..

Alessandro the host was very communicative; I had a travel snafu and he made sure I was ok. I appreciated it very much. The room was small and comfortable and located close to the Rialto bridge but far away from the chaos. There is filtered water and coffee at your disposal at all times. Room was very clean and had everything I needed. I had no trouble with the WiFi. There were several kind touches like a treat in the room in fresh flowers.

Solo female travelers should know that there is no staff overnight 24/7. I felt pretty safe though. I’m not breakfast person, but the breakfast is self service from the fridge and your room, which is a little strange, but was fine for me.

Way beyond expectations - amazing location, absolutely silent at night and the air con was on and silent so we slept so well. Fantastically clean, comfortable huge bed, brilliantly equipped and so clean bathroom, breakfast selection was brilliant , access to coffee and water are all times, welcome artisan biscuits and sweets in pillows but most of all Alessandro went out of his way to make our trip easy, responding so fast in answer to questions, brilliant suggestions and even checking we got in ok on his day off.

It was perfect

We loved everything!! The location of the appartment was close to all the important points, right next to Rialto. The room was stylish and elegant. Everything was spotless, it was the first hotel I have ever been to (and I've travelled a lot) that had perfectly white walls - no stains, no scratches, no cracks! Breakfast was delicious! Although we had the same for 3 days, we did not get tired of it and we had so many options!! The room was cleaned daily, the consumed snacks were replaced, the coffee machine made good espresso and cappucino, perfect for a new energy boost in the afternoon and for saving some money. The water dispenser was a blessing: not having to worry about buying water for the room, to have overnight, PLUS it gave cold sparkling water as well as still! Amazing! The heating works great, we were quite cold after walking along the canals in the evening, but the room heated up in minutes. The mattress was wonderful and the orthopedic pillows were a great surprise for us! The TV with Netflix was great to chill in the evenings. Alessandro was very kind an helpful and he prepared a surprise for us, since we were there on our honeymoon. It was absolutely great value for money!!

If I had to say something, it would be that the TV was a bit outdated, but it did not matter to us - one does not go to Venice to watch TV. 😊

Lovely B&B in a great location near the Grand Canal, markets & Rialto Bridge. Our room was spotless, spacious & the bed was really comfortable, with quality linen. Good choice of tea & coffee in the room, alongside some of the breakfast items. Chilled breakfast was in the lovely, clean kitchen & we were able to make our own hot drinks & fresh toast. Manager, Alessandro, was welcoming & friendly. He gave us lots of useful advice on where to eat & areas to visit, away from the tourist hot spots. Great value property, would highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing to dislike.
