Ca’della Scimmia was a dream stay! Location was excellent and every little detail of this apartment was amazing starting with Andrea, the hostess, who was so helpful, nice and available for all and any questions. She and her husband have thought of every last detail to make a stay at Scimmia comfortable and amazing. First off location! Near the Rialto bridge. So convenient to the Alilaguna ferry from the airport. You will have to go over the bridge and steps but after that, the building is tucked into a little alley, so safe and beautiful. You will be given detailed instructions by Andrea and she will meet you if you get lost. She is so available and so amazing with all her recommendations. After a long day of travel, it was so nice to be greeted so warmly and allowed to check in early. We had a second floor apartment and it was perfect. I’m sure the upper apartments were even better with the larger size and views but we were perfectly content with the apartment we chose. There was no detailed missed in this apartment. Things we loved: elevator, a/c, strong, hot shower, culti bath gels, shampoo and conditioner (we are addicted to the toiletries), Marvis toothpaste and mouthwash, two robes and slippers, so many bottles of water and two kinds of coffee machines, the kitchen has everything we needed and more - dishwasher and a microwave! And a mini washer! Absolutely nothing was missed and we loved every moment especially all the ingredients to make a spritz drink! If we ever come back to Venice, we are definitely staying here as it is in the heart of Venice and easy walk to everything we wanted to see. I couldn’t have chose a better place and lastly, the price was soooooo reasonable. I will be recommending Scimmia to everyone!

Absolutely nothing!!!

We were in contact with Andrea, the receptionist, before arriving in Venice. She kindly informed us which dock to arrive at by boat for easy access to the apartment. We decided to spoil ourselves and reserved a private water taxi from the airport, which dropped us just a 3-minute walk from Ca’ della Scimmia. Andrea met us upon arrival and was absolutely wonderful—she immediately made us feel right at home. She showed us up to our room and answered all our questions. Knowing we were celebrating our honeymoon, she had a chilled bottle of Prosecco waiting for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. I had asked her for some restaurant recommendations, and she promptly texted me a list of great local spots. Every morning, she greeted us in the lobby as we headed out for the day to make sure everything was meeting our expectations. When I say she was wonderful, I truly mean it! The property itself was spotless. The bed was very comfortable, and the decor was charming. We stayed in the loft apartment, which was cozy and had lovely views. Although there wasn’t a full kitchen, there was a small fridge, kettle, and espresso machine—plenty for a light breakfast or coffee before heading out. And honestly, who wants to cook when there are so many amazing restaurants in Italy? The location in San Polo was perfect—just a minute from the Rialto Bridge. I actually preferred this area over San Marco, as the restaurants felt more authentic, the prices were more reasonable, and the neighborhood a bit less touristy. San Marco and its main attractions are still less than a 15-minute walk away. Be prepared to walk (or take the water bus), as there are no cars in Venice, but that’s part of the magic. Do not hesitate to book this apartment—it was a wonderful start to our honeymoon and an experience we’ll never forget.

We liked everything about this flat! Wonderful location, very easy to walk to restaurants and shopping or catch a vaporetto. The check-in was easy, and Andrea (at the reception desk) was very welcoming and helpful, giving us guidance on restaurants and transportation. The flat itself was terrific - very spacious and well-equipped, with comfortable furniture, a great bed and pillows, and a large bathroom. We loved having a lift and laundry as well. The hosts even provided a complimentary welcome spritz for us! Would definitely stay here again!

It's a busy area, and there was some street noise late one evening, but this only happened one night of our stay.

This location totally EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I travelled with my husband and two young adult daughters who were seeing Venice for the first time. Although I'm not usually a fan of boutique apartment style rooms, I couldn't ignore the reviews already posted that raved about the location! Once I booked the rooms, the charming and super helpful owner, Andrea, reached out to offer any help and assistance I may need. Keep in mind that this is not a hotel. There is no room service or 24h onsite staff......but it is literally the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! We booked a 2 bd/2bth apt that offered the perks of a hotel, (well stocked courtesy minibar, comfy robes, hair dryers, high end shower lotions) with the comforts of a very clean and spacious apartment with a fully functional kitchen, cappuccino maker and full living and dining area. And regarding the location, we couldn't have asked for better! Located around the corner from the popular Rialto Mercado Taxi Stop, you are steps from the fun open air market stalls, numerous store fronts to explore and some of the best restaurants and gelato shops in the city. But the biggest draw is that you are a block away from the famous Rialto Bridge, literally the heartbeat of Venice! Everything was within an easy walk with St. Marco's Square maybe a 15m walk away! And Andrea was not only available for basic recommendations but she was also a HUGE help when we needed off hours transportation needs that clearly required a local for language assistance. Believe me when I say she is a gem and her hotel will not disappoint! It really did feel like your home away from home in one of Italy's most magical cities!

There were really no negatives.

We loved staying there! It's super central, and the Vaporetto ferry bus is right there, so getting to and from the train station and Piazza San Marco was a breeze. The apartment was huge and had everything we needed. It was also really clean and modern, which made our stay comfy. Free mini bar with snacks and spritz aperitivo were very much appreciated by us. Andrea, the host, was so welcoming, thoughtful, and helpful. We were provided with a detailed guide on how to find the apartment and which ferry to take. Andrea sent us lots of recommendations for Venice. She even gave our little one bubbles, and made him so happy.

It was perfect.

The location is unbeatable—steps from the Rialto and Grand Canal, yet surprisingly quiet at night. Our apartment was spotless, modern, and thoughtfully set up: comfortable bed, good blackout shutters, reliable Wi-Fi, strong air-conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchenette (nice touch with the coffee machine). Check-in was smooth with clear instructions, and the team was super responsive on WhatsApp for tips and quick questions. We walked everywhere—Saint Mark’s in minutes—and having the market and vaporetto close by made exploring (and airport transfers) easy. As with many Venice buildings, there are a few stairs, but it wasn’t an issue for us. All in all, a stylish, comfortable base in the heart of Venice. Would happily stay again and recommend without hesitation.

There was a lift and good working a/c. The two staff we met were delightful! Also they are very responsive to messages when asked a question through the Booking portal. We were in the large place that can fit 6 people and noise was no problem at all. The location was superb - very easy moving luggage there from the nearby water taxi and just a fantastic location to get other places. I saw other reviews that mentioned the beds being comfortable but I was sleeping on the pull out couch and realized this may not be the same - but I was pleasantly surprised that it was GREAT! If I ever went back to Venice I would move the dates if I had to in order to make sure I could stay here again!

So it was all great, but the one thing I recall missing was a typical kitchen staple. Most places I have stayed with a kitchenette supply salt/sugar/oil -and I believe there was no oil [to help prevent sticking when frying].

Location was awesome. Convenient to water bus, sites, food, and shopping. Safe entry off a smaller less busy side street. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean. No recycling requirements!! Check out was extremely easy. Quiet location. Air conditioning worked great. Place was great! We would definitely stay here if we return to Venice. Easy to get to Marco Polo even for our 9am flight to US. They had extra things (i.e. sparkling wine, extra towels, snacks, his/her robes..) that you don’t get in other properties to pamper you.

Showers were small but i believe more common in Europe. This is really the only negative and is pale compared to positives

Nicely updated building and apartments in a super central, very easily accessible location (few steps from the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop). Well equipped kitchen (which you will not use because you will eat out every day :) and two types of espresso makers with Illy coffee provided. Great communication with the host before arrival and during our stay, useful information on parking, etc. Bedroom is huge and king size bed super comfy. The sofa bed is a little bit crammed near the dining table but space is a luxury in Venice..

The only thing I'd mention is that the central location (which is the big ace about the apartments) also means that the nights can be quite noisy. Down the street there are a bunch of bars where young locals hang out till late and there's noise (till very late, on Saturday night especially).

The apartment was very comfortable and well-equipped with amenities. It is very well located making it easy to walk to main sights and to join walking tours. A highlight is the helpful and friendly service from our welcomist, Andrea.

The apartment's proximity to the market and outdoor seating for drinking sites meant that our first night was plagued by a very large group of drunk tourists making a lot of noise until very late. Unfortunately our 2nd floor accommodation and double-glazed windows couldn't keep the noise out. This is beyond the control of the accommodation and white noise from the air-conditioning unit helped with sleeping.
