Ancient, quirky, friendly, comfortable. It’s location, 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge and markets, couldn’t be better for accessing all the major sights of Venice. It is excellent value for money, spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and interesting pieces of antique furniture. The breakfasts are generous and the young staff very friendly and helpful. In short, it is authentically Venetian and it hasn’t changed since I first stayed there over twenty years ago.

Nothing to dislike, but a word of warning to elderly travellers: we are in our mid seventies and pretty fit, but the Pensione doesn’t have a lift, the building hails back to the C13, and access to the bedrooms is up several lengthy stone staircases. If you struggle to climb stairs then this, sadly, is not the place for you.

Shuvan (Front Desk) was fantastic. He gave us our takeaway breakfast as we needed to leave early.

Hard to carry suit cases up-down stairs

We stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved the location. It was the perfect location for attending the carnival festivities. It was super easy to get around, and really close to the Rivalto bridge to cross to the other side. The room was great in size and easily could accommodate 3 people (we were 3 girls). Breakfast was good.

The electricity couldn't support multiple plugs at the same time, especially if one was drawing a lot (like a strong hairdryer). Other than that, there isn't anything we didn't like.

Loved this place. Francisco, who was on the desk when we arrived was so welcoming, informative and friendly. And the other staff were warm and friendly too. The room was great, nicely decorated so that we really felt like we were in Venice. We had a view over the market and we could even see onto one of the canals. The bed was super comfortable and the shared bathroom and kitchen were clean and very well equipped..We will be back!

Nothing we didn't like though a couple of hooks for wet towels might be useful.

Perfect location for exploring Venice for the first time, sweet staff and most of what you need. No fridge or kettle but there’s lots in the area so you can find coffee, cold drinks, etc, very close. Price was excellent. Had a shared bathroom but never saw the other people so if you’re worried, it’s really no big deal.

For all the walking around, I need a more cushy bed, but that’s me. Some people love a stiff bed. Also, it’s not close to any of the biennale exhibits. I didn’t really realize that when I booked it. If you’re going just for biennale, look at the exhibit map and choose a more central spot.

The service was outstanding! Everybody was very friendly and helpful. They were the kindest employees during our entire week in Italy. Breakfast was very nice. The location was very nice. I’d love to stay there again. We were there on a Thursday night so the price was very reasonable. I think it gets more expensive quickly during the weekend.

They have no control over this at the hotel but honestly, it was pretty noisy until 3 AM. Otherwise great shower, comfortable beds and very very nice. We loved it.

The place is in a great spot and everything is super clean. Check-in and communication with staff is super easy. We found the staff to be super friendly and tried to make everything the best for us. Even trying to go out of our way to put together a small vegan breakfast takeaway for our early check out even though we didn’t mind. Super cute and would highly recommend.

Maybe the only thing if I had to be fussy was if the main shared bathroom was stocked with extra towels and soaps incase they were used or forgotten before going in. Also wasn’t sure if the shared bathroom door could be unlocked from the outside whilst locked and being used inside, sometimes was paranoid of that. But that’s being really picky. The place is super helpful, friendly and easy going and just really feel like the staff made us feel super comfortable.

The location of the hotel was great. It was only a short but scenic walk to all the main attractions, and shopping in the area. Breakfast was good, nothing crazy but did the job. Rooms were spacious and the hotel itself was very nice and cozy. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and made our stay amazing. Thank you!

The rooms were a bit warm due to the heat not being able to be turned off. The beds were also a little uncomfortable.

Hotel Guerrato (Pensione Guerrato) - My family and I stayed at this place on Mar 2024, we loved it and I am sharing my feedback. The hotel is very comfortable, hard to believe it is in a building that is few hundred years old and to be a very good family run business. The biggest advantage of this Hotel is the location, it is close to Rialto Bridge\Rialto Market for a stroll, day trip starting point, restaurants and water taxi stands. The breakfast at the Hotel is continental European and you would have schedule it at the front desk. The people at the front desk are very helpful and have good knowledge of the city.

The Hotel doesn't have an elevator, If you're carrying large bags or traveling with elders it may be a challenge.

Great location, super close to a vaporetto stop and close to the Rialto Bridge, which was handy both for viewing this tourist destination and for navigation around the city! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, giving great recommendations on places to eat, walking routes and places to visit. The rooms were spacious.

The pillows and beds were very firm. We left the windows open the first night and found it to be quite noisy, but with the windows and shutters closed the second night we had a great sleep. You do need to carry your luggage up a couple of sets of stairs, but the staff will help if you need it.
