The location is great, in central Venice near the Rialto bridge and directly overlooking the Grand Canal. The hotel is a beautiful old grand building and the rooms are large and quiet.

It is a four star hotel but it doesn’t have four star facilities. There is no restaurant or room service and there is a bar but it wasn’t open once when we stayed in October. The staff are very pleasant but the service is not what I would expect in a four star hotel. For example, refusing to open the roof terrace so we could have a look at the view. Maybe there was a good reason for this but they didn’t tell us. Telling us the bar was closed at 7pm. Not telling us about the 45 euro city tax until we checked out and then only accepting payment in cash.

Our accommodation exceeded our expectations from the first moment! Beautifully located hotel on the canal and next to Ca' d'Oro. Nice common areas - reception, dining room and very nicely furnished spacious room with a beautiful marble bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style - a large selection of everything incl. fresh fruit, very good homemade cakes - super cheesecake with strawberries. But the best thing is the view from the dining room on the canal. The gondoliers were just getting ready for their cruises - how romantic. We almost couldn't get up and leave! A bonus is the terrace on the roof of the hotel with the best view of the canal right across from the Rialto market. It was very nice to watch the busy life on the canal. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

We were return visitors to the Foscari Palace having enjoyed a stay in 2022. Our expectations were based on our previous experience and the price that we secured for our rooms last week. The hotel building dates back to the 1500s and that should be considered by anyone planning a trip..... it is typical of the area. We arrived at the Foscari in the evening from the train station and were met with a friendly welcome back, prompt check in and our rooms on the 3rd floor were ready for us. Our rooms were clean and of a good size with partial canal views which was nice. Beds were enormous and arranged with crisp, fresh linens. Bathrooms were well equipped and hotel addressed a hot water challenge promptly and successfully. Breakfast is plentiful and typical of hotels of this standard with hot options and continental choices. Service was good on the mornings that we had breakfast. The location of this hotel brought us back.... it is located on Campo S Sofia, adjacent to the Ca D'Oro ATV stop. The hotel sits on the Grand Canal and has magnificent views across to the Rialto Market and along the canal in both directions. The views from the newly restored roof terrace are stunning, particularly in the evening when the buildings are all lit up. Its location is very handy for exploring Cannaregio and it is easy to get about the wider city using the #1 water bus service from the Ca D'Oro stop which is just around the corner. The hotel reception arranged our water taxi back to the airport for us and provided helpful information regarding purchase of tickets etc. Would have no hesitation in returning to the Foscari.

See above - The building is old and it sits directly on the very busy Canal, anyone booking should take this into consideration.

The room was beautiful and really gave us a "Venetian" feel. We had one of the rooms with the terrace and really enjoyed sitting outside a bit. We like the ability to make the room very dark by closing the shutters. We loved being on the roof top terrace our first night and watching the gondola's and gorgeous water taxi's. Sadly we could not use it thereafter because the awning had come down and was not fixed during our stay. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Beautiful little waterfront room to enjoy breakfast in.

The front desk staff seemed to be inconsistent in friendliness and helpfulness. For a hotel at this price and the room as nice as it was, a simple tea kettle, instant coffee and tea would generally be expected. Also robes would really go a long way to add comfort to the stay.

The place exceeded our expectations, but I specifically wanted a view of the Grand Canal. I got a view but you kind of had to look left out the window to see it. It wasn't a straight on view. They do have a rooftop where anyone can go up to to have a glass of wine and get a spectacular view of the Grand Canal and all the island really. The Palace location is the best! You won't be disappointed. Their breakfasts are spectacular.

The cleaners lost my portable battery which was a bummer.

It was a great stay, one of the rooms had a great view and it really elevated our stay. Also, the location is great near the boat station and grand canal bridge. We had some complications with rooms being very far from each other and very nice lady Adelina helped us as much as she could.

Unfortunately, we had rooms very far away and one of them had a view on the wall of the other building, also the hotel sadly doesn't read the comments that we have wrote, which led to some complications.

The overall stay was good. We only stayed 2 nights for New Year and booked last minute but everything went well. The location is perfect to get around Venice and you have a gondola rides right next to the hotel. The room was clean and the beds were nice. Overall my wife and I were happy with our stay.

The only improvement I would say is on the breakfast. It’s nice that it was included in our stay but it was a bit underwhelming. For context in American so I don’t ever really expect the greatest from Europe breakfasts but I felt they’re room to improve. The coffee wasn’t great and the eggs were like custard/jello. The pastries didn’t taste fresh.

Great location close to the main places. One of the main streets next to the hotel, but rooms are really quiet and it doesnt disturb at all. 15 minutes walking to train station.

Bath was dirty or already too old and from the looks of it, it didn't make us want to take a bath in it. The shower nozzles and the shower corner in general would need to be replaced.

Location, patio over canal. Courteous staff. Good breakfast. Well maintained.

Directions to hotel difficult to follow however not sure how to make it easy

Great location and easy to get to from the water bus. Our large/generous room overlooked the square to the side of the hotel and double glazing kept the room quiet (although a little stuffy). The breakfast room had a good selection and in the late afternoon you could enjoy a drink from the Bar and sit on the deck out the front and watch the gondola’s and boats go by. An older hotel with character.

A couple of notes (not dislikes): if you want to have your breakfast on the deck, there is a charge. There was no aircon in the room. The shower was over the bath and abit bizarre (something from the 80’s). but all round great value for Venice and would stay again!
