The lady that ran it was just lovely and couldn't do enough for us. I got an extra pillow without asking and she always made my husband a second cup of coffee at breakfast. We were upgraded for free because it was our 25th wedding Anniversary (I did request it but by no means expected it) it was lovely and I would stay there again.

Seriously, I was very happy with my stay. Some of the decor could possibly do with a bit of love and the window leaks when it rains, but none of this affected our stay. It was also quite easy to find with Google maps unlike some other places!

The location is excellent. Easy access to the vaporetto to the classic Venetian sights. Then a short walk north through Cannaregio for excellent restaurants, pretty canals, and a peaceful setting.

The room could have been cleaner. It had been superficially cleaned just fine, sheets and towels were fine, but needs a deep cleaning on the walls, doors, furniture, and shower. BE AWARE OF THE BATHROOM FLOOR! The tile is very slippery and they provide you with a towel-like bathmat. I stepped out of the shower onto the bathmat, slipped and fell, and tweaked my knee. It made my one day in Venice far less enjoyable because I couldn't comfortably walk up and down stairs.

We had a wonderful experience at Alloggi Santa Sofia. The location is absolutely unbeatable—close to everything yet peaceful at night. The decoration throughout the property is beautiful and adds so much charm to the stay. The air conditioning was fantastic and a huge plus during the summer heat. Laura was spectacular—her warm welcome and exceptional customer service made us feel right at home. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options to start the day. Overall, this place is great value for money, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!Amazing location, decoration was beautiful, fantastic A/C. This was the most wonderful place!!!! We had the top floor, with our own private terrace, it was incredible! We had the most amazing lady that worked there help us with everything!! She even had rose pedals in a heart on our bed as i told her it was our 20th wedding anniversary! ❤️The breakfast was so wonderful!!!! The hotel is a few mins from the vaporetto stop. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!! I truly hope we get to come back again!! So much love from Canada!!

Nothing. It was all perfect!!!!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room is located in an old building in a narrow hall, which was very romantic. The building used to be an art school and has a very interesting history. The main attractions were reached on foot. We enjoyed strolling through canals and corners of Venice. The lady at the reception was polite and helpful. The breakfast had savoury and sweet choices. I enjoyed the cornetto (croissant) and cappuccino.

The towels and sheets may need to be updated but nothing to make your stay unpleasant.

The staff was great, probably the best staff hotel I have ever encountered while traveling! Free Wi-Fi, (Speed test 101 Mbps down /114 Mbps up) was able do download the Venice map in 10 seconds. (Note, there are quite a few data dead zones through the city, so I recommend downloading maps. Also the GPS service isn't 100% accurate in the small streets.) The breakfast was awesome with quite a few options! The staff made my wife coffee and my daughter hot chocolate. My wife absolutely loved the coffee. My daughter munched on strawberries and a chocolate brownies! I had some excellent jam filled croissants and the red orange juice was great! Location was GREAT! We were with in a 20 minute walk from any major attraction. Lots of cafes grocery stores and and basic needs stores near by. Even McDonalds and Burger King are near by if you're not feeling adventurous...

Our room was facing Strada Nova (Street) there was a lot of noise from other tourists at night, it didn't bother me, but my daughter who sleeps by 7:30pm had a hard time sleeping. The bed kind of stiff for my liking, but I have suffered several back injuries, could be just my back. Bedding (blankets) were kind dated, but some might see this as part of the charm of the hotel.

The hotel is very well located - only a few minutes from the water bus station, on the main walking street. The host is very friendly and hospitable, we loved how she treated us with care. Breakfast was great as well - everything you need is there, you even can drink tea with lemon (if you don’t drink coffee)! Room was spacious and we could hear people singing in church which was unusual and added to the atmosphere.

The only thing is shower doors that need mending

A highly recommended accommodation. It exceeded all our expectations! The lady owner is so kind, nice, and hospitable.... I haven't met such a wonderful person for a long time. She kindly offered a larger room with a private garden, even though we had booked a smaller one, which I have never experienced before. Also, since we were in a hurry, she offered to serve us breakfast half an hour earlier. Everything is clean and nice, even though the furniture is rustic. It actually adds a special charm to the ambiance! I strongly recommend it! We will come again and we know where to stay!"

Because of the green garden maybe a little bit more of moscitos

The facility was excellent in terms of both location and management. Compared to hotels in Europe, the room was much more comfortable and spacious. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with any issues we had. He was also understanding about letting us leave our luggage early. The room and bathroom were very clean. Most importantly, the location was perfect. It was only a 50-meter walk to the nearest vaporetto stop, from which you could easily reach anywhere you wanted.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed and made to feel at home. Throughout our stay, any extra needs we had were met with enthusiasm. Bathroom was great! The private garden was a nice spot to take a quiet break from the crowds. I fell ill during our stay, and our host went out of her way to check on me. Overall, this was just a very positive experience that added to our vacation.

I do wish that breakfast was available one hour earlier.
