Everything was smooth

I am a firm believer that beauty matters – not just in how things look, but in how they make us feel. Beauty nurtures the soul, lifts the spirit, and gently reminds us we’re allowed to feel good. At JW Marriott Venice, beauty is everywhere – in the quiet elegance of the spaces, the harmony of the surroundings, and the thoughtful details that speak without words. But more than the setting, it was the feeling – the atmosphere shaped by the people. Every single person we met was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The staff were like sunlight: gracious, quietly present, and sincerely welcoming. It wasn’t just good service – it felt human. It felt real. You don’t just visit this place – you feel it. This wasn’t just a hotel stay – it was something softer, more soulful. You don’t just stay here. You belong here – if only for a little while.

Our stay at JW Marriott Venice was an experience we’ll never forget. Everything about this resort radiates luxury, serenity, and thoughtful hospitality. The location is absolutely unique — set on its own private island, it offers the perfect balance between peaceful seclusion and easy access to the heart of Venice. The complimentary water shuttle, running every 30 minutes, was incredibly convenient and reliable, making the journey to and from the main city both smooth and scenic. One of the first things that struck us was the beauty of the grounds. The resort is surrounded by lush gardens and beautifully landscaped paths filled with vibrant flowers — it truly felt like a private paradise in full bloom. The staff were outstanding: warm, professional, and always eager to help. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort were evident in every interaction. Our room was impressively spacious — far beyond what we expected in Venice. It was tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and flooded with natural light. The modern design combined with high-end amenities made it a joy to return to after a day out. The resort amenities were equally top-tier: from the luxurious spa and wellness facilities to the spectacular rooftop infinity pool with panoramic lagoon views. Every corner of the property was designed with elegance and relaxation in mind. Breakfast was another daily highlight, offering a wide and generous selection — from freshly baked pastries and fruits to hot dishes and live cooking stations. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

If there’s one area that didn’t quite match the otherwise impeccable experience, it was the service at the rooftop restaurant, Sagra. Although the views and ambiance were wonderful, the service was noticeably slow and a few mistakes were made with our order. Still, this was a small blemish on what was otherwise a flawless stay. JW Marriott Venice is a rare gem — combining space, beauty, and tranquility with outstanding service and convenience.

The private island setting is magical, with an amazing view from the rooftop restaurant and pool towards San Marco. The staff go out of their way to help, especially Soda in the Sagra restaurant, and all the staff in Dopolavoro; the food in Dopolavoro is exceptional. The spa is also relaxing and the gym is quiet. The private shuttle to San Marco is regular and easy to find. Late check-out is possible.

The hotel's culture is very American, sometimes verging on sycophancy; tips are requested on everything and there are extra charges (e.g. just to use the sauna, use a bicycle, restaurant 'cover' charges, arrival deposit etc); food portions in Sagra are excessive (part of a general disregard for sustainability); guests around the rooftop pool tended to be loud and inconsiderate. The rooms are a little bland for the price.

Everything was exceptional. The boat shuttle is very convenient. The rooms are spacious and very confortable. The breakfast is various and delicious with a welcoming staff. Rooftop pool with extra view on Venice is a cherry on the cake, what a pleasure to swim after intensive day. The last point, that I really appreciate is check-out at 12 so can really enjoy your last morning in the hotel with a late breakfast, swimming pool and not prepare your luggage and check-out in a hurry.

The staff in the hotel were welcoming but there is some point to improvement. They try to do the check-in as fast as possible, just to give a booklet with a qr-code to website. The water, tea etc are not always renewable.

out loft apartment was beautiful . It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff gave us lovely surprises through out our stay. It was lovely

in insta the hotel advertise it self on the James Bond style arrival dock but you only go there if in a private taxi. The complimentary boat does not use that dock which was disappointing on arrival. But we did a private taxi leaving from there and it was fabulous.

The island is very peaceful and secluded away from the hub hub of central Venice. We really loved this aspect of the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we were made to feel right at home. If you are a couple or a solo traveller and not a family, I recommend booking a room outside of the main building which is quieter. Also, reserve your breakfast at the Doplovaro restaurant as it is fantastic and the restaurant is very tranquil compared with the main breakfast area.

The gym was not clean enough and often there was no water inside. This is the only real fault that I could recognise.

Nice property and nice grounds . We ate and drank well. The Chef Alessandro cooking the eggs went out of his way to make some last minute eggs . Was very nice when everyone else was busy saying no to everyone. The bartender from Greece was extremely helpful and good at the lobby bar as well. And the Night shift service staff gentleman, I don’t remember his name but helped us at the rooftop bar making some new friends as well as excellent room service support.

The pool for families was a little small. Options for shade poolside were limited . There were a couple Occasions that certain service staff were abrupt and not very helpful.

Arrived earlier than check-in but the room was ready. We received an upgrade to a suite which was very much a surprise! The room fantastic, very large and comfortable, easy access to the roof terrace and the breakfast restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are second to none. Very welcoming and friendly and very attentive. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Great choices and always fresh. The food in the hotel in general was excellent. This is our 5th trip to Italy and food is always excellent!

Water taxi to the hotel from the airport isn't cheap (165/170 Euros) and once you're on Isola Delle Rosa there's no "cheap" option for a soft drink. This is the only down side to staying away from the main centre though. Rooftop restaurant is very nice and the staff again are excellent, but the menu prices are on the high side. Room service prices are far more reasonable and there's an excellent choice. Not the hotel's issue, but when we stayed some of the other residents were extremely rude. We have no problem queueing for the boat to/from St Mark's Square, but it seems not everyone is accustomed to the European version of Queueing!

The location away from the hustle of Venice was bliss and calming after long days, The shuttle boat every 30 mins was so well organised. The extensive grounds, fabulous kids areas, heated amazing pool just fabulous, staff all attentive and polite and made you feel so welcome.

The only thing and this is being really picky is for a hotel charging €700 per night (and yes understand it’s all about location) would it not hurt to actually offer water free of charge round by the pool instead of charging €1 a glass, also the ice cream again €10 a scoop perhaps a nice touch would be to offer children a voucher a day so they could perhaps have 1 free ice cream a day ? Just little things like that would a nice touch. But that is all can not fault anything at all about this hotel, location or staff
