Amazing location right by the lagoon – I could hear the canal from my room, which was lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel has a unique, charming vibe, with classic furniture and a historic feel. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. I stayed in a single room – very comfortable and great value for money. The private bathroom was just across the hall, no problem at all. If I ever come back to Venice, I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Tiny tip: unless you want to share the room with Venice’s mosquitoes, keep the windows closed! The AC and mosquito repellent do the trick.:)

Wonderful location, fantastic hotel, very professional staff, many delicious breakfast options, gorgeous canal-side terrace-restaurant with excellent food. The staff really makes guests feel welcome and fusses over them in a good way. I’m a rather critical customer but LA CALCINA ticked every box with an exclamation mark. I only hope that my enthusiastic review will not make the hotel impossible to book. Oh, and have I mentioned the pricing is very good and fair, also. Can’t wait to stay at La Calcina again.

Great elegant hotel with a real Venetian feel. Located on a canal very close to several vaporetto (boat) stops. I had a best room with a view on the canal on a 3rd floor (room 31) and the view was marvellous. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, bathroom spacious. The wifi was good, and free complimentary water has been provided every day in a room. Breakfast has been delicious and you can also have dinner, as well as sit outside on the canal to have some evening drinks. The hotel has no lift, so you will have to drag your luggage up the stairs if you're staying on higher floors, but the view I had from my room was absolutely more than worth of any discomfort (the hotel has this unique old Venetian hotel style feel anyway). Highly recommend this hotel and I will be definitely coming back!

Amazing place to stay in Venice ! Staff of exceptional kindness and high qualities. From the reception, to the breakfast and the restaurant staff was amazing. Rooms are very nice, especially those with view to the canal. Breakfast very nice, Wi-Fi very good, air conditioning very effective,. Mary and Ronaldo the dream team of the restaurant ! Everything very precise and the feeling of hospitality is everywhere.

Lovely quiet location situated away from the crowded tourist areas around St Marks etc. but still close enough to reach on foot. Gave me the opportunity to see some parts of Venice that otherwise I may not have seen. Beautiful setting on the water. Arrived well before check in time but my room was unexpectedly ready. Had a delicious dinner in the restaurant.

My room was spotlessly clean with a great view & everything I needed but the decor (wallpaper) was a bit jaded.

The breakfast was excellent with choices of continual and/or bacon and scrambled eggs. The bread was freshly baked and Italian almond cake too. All varieties of tea and coffee styles available. The fresh fruit was plentiful.

The plumbing, although plenty of hot water, was a bit difficult to regulate, the shower was a bit feeble. Nothing serious. No elevator could make it tricky for some, but this is the trade off as it is a beautiful old building.,

Canal view room very good, other rooms very small. Location excellent, close to vaporetto stops for all destinations. Easy walk to Accademia bridge and San Marco and lovely view over the Guidecca Canal. We really liked the restauranrt which had excellent food and lovely views

Coffee making facitities were not available in the room. Our initial room was very small so we upgraded to a larger one. The alterna was rather shabby and there were large gaps between the floor boards. The choice of food at breakfast was rather limited we would have liked some cheeses or smoked salmon.

The location is excellent. The view across the Guidecca canal is lovely plus very close to the Zattere stop for water transport. Eating breakfast outside in the sunshine (in November! )can’t be beaten. The staff are absolutely charming and extremely helpful. We have stayed here many times over the years and will be back.

No lift but they are about to install one.

Service orientation of staff is truly exceptional, breakfast is amazing and location is exceptional. I was so glad i booked this property instead of being in the over touristy san marco square areas

Everything about the property was first class! The cleanliness was top drawer and their attention to detail was exceptional. It is a beautiful property with a staff that is well trained and always available to help. Outstanding!
