Located in the heart of old town so 5-15 mins walk from everything. Beautiful hotel with many features dating back centuries. Service is impeccable - smiley, helpful people everywhere with no expectation of a tip. Lovely pool area with nice and plentiful sun loungers. Amazing world-class restaurant at very reasonable price.

The hotel added on an extra £25per night general service charge (to be allocated across all staff) and a £5 a night insurance/security charge. I found that rather distasteful given the cost per night of the rooms. Has a smell of Rynair about it!

We loved the hotel! The property is absolutely gorgeous. Most mornings we had lunch out on the patio or in the garden so that we could take in the beauty of the courtyard. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was very attentive. The concierge was very helpful and scheduled a hair appointment for me in town. We loved our time relaxing by the pool, but I think the food was what we loved most. We had breakfast included with our stay and it was exceptional. They had eggs made to order, arepas, pancakes, bacon, and other local breakfast foods, fresh pastries as well as an assortment of fruits and fresh squeezed juices. My husband couldn't believe this was the included hotel breakfast.

The hotel had turndown service and they would leave these delicious coconut candies in the room. The problem was that if we were out when they came by the bugs would come to the room and get to them first. We also had a bit of a hiccup on the last night of our trip. The AC stopped working, and it was not an easy fix. They moved us to another room on the same floor, but that side of the hotel had a very strong smell that I didn't like. Otherwise, it was a nearly perfect trip.

The breakfast was phenomenal. Concierge seervice was outstanding. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived for check-in, so the receptionist moved us to a finer room so we wouldn't have to wait after a long day of travel. We were thrilled with our upgraded room. The location of the hotel was perfect. The bed as comfortable as we've ever had when traveling.

Our last night in the hotel there was a private party on the upper deck overlooking the pool. The music and guests were quite loud and didn't disperse until after 11:00pm. We had an early morning flight to catch, so it was impossible to get to sleep until much later than we'd hoped.

Everything! First THE STAFF! This hotel is not only in perfect location, amazing amenities, luxurious decorating and atmosphere/the staff was the most attentive and sincere I have ever experienced. They went above and beyond both before I arrived and while there. I especially want to mention GABRIEL in the concierge. He was beyond helpful in planning my time there by booking excursions, car to and from airport , lunch /dinner recommendations. Highly recommend this hotel. I checked out other hotels that I was thinking about and there is no comparison.

Nothing loved it all

- the hotel room was great and the property has lots of facilities - food was very good both breakfast and lunch - staff were friendly - location is great (right in the walled city)

- there is some noise due to the location but this is to be expected and would only wake a light sleeper - the service at times felt a bit impersonal but this was simply down to the size of the property - some bits of the property are showing their age. Broken signage, tiles, bathroom lights ect. Just needs a bit more maintenance. But for a property this old it’s generally in good shape.

The staff are exceptional and make you feel welcome. The breakfast buffet is amazing with so many tropical fruits to try. The pool is clean and great to do laps in. The garden is lovely to sit. The location makes accessing many of the local attractions. The junior suite with a balcony view of the pool and sea was very special. The Cano jewelry store was perfect. The whole experience is five stars.

No complaints

Unique colonial (most of it is colonial) hotel in the heart of Cartagena. The suites are simply outstanding, the regular rooms not so much, although they are nice, they are kind of small. The food is exceptional and the service is flawless. If you come to Cartagena, this is the hotel to stay at. I do gave a caveat, and that's weddings at the hotel; and although they are not invasive and loud, you can feel the presence of those weddings all the time. The suite was big and spacious, and we had a view of the Plaza de San Diego. Amazing swimming pool areas and gorgeous facilities.

At times, the wedding guests behaved like they owned the hotel. Taking over by the swimming pool spaces.

Everything! The grounds were well kept in a good location. when you first arrive, you are greeted by Bell hops that are dressed the part. The staff overall was great. Carlos was assigned to walk me to my room and he gave me such a personalized experience. I would go back for the staff alone. They really make you feel special. I always felt safe. They also have a wide variety for breakfast and it was always good.

Honestly, everything was good. If I has to say anything, it would be that you have to keep the room pretty cold too avoid condensation on the floor, but Cartagena is hot in general so this is expected.

This hotel is beautifully located within a historic complex of buildings at the very heart of Cartagena's old city. The court yard and the swimming pool area are very nice oases of silence. The buffet breakfast is spectacular, great choice and quality of foods, with just the service being a little slow. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Standard rooms are okay but nothing special.
