-Location was what we wanted near to places we wanted to see. -Breakfast has many options, very filling traditional Japanese which we liked -Comfortable Bed and room is good size compared to others -Onsen! -Free parking just in front of hotel -New Towels & trash clearing everyday -Polite & helpful staff. There is always someone at the reception 24 hrs. -Not busy or over crowded during our stay -free little amenities supplied for daily use

f you’re planning to visit both the Hakone and Fuji areas in 2-3 days, Gotemba is the ideal town to stay in, and Hotel Route-Inn Gotenba Eki-Minami is an excellent choice. The hotel is approximately a 40-minute drive from Lake Ashi, making it convenient for your travels (assuming you traveled the Hakone area before arriving). The next morning, you can head directly to the Mt. Fuji/Fujiyoshida area. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. On the first floor, there are separate onsens for men and women; although they are small, they are charming, well-maintained, and open until 2 a.m. for hotel guests—a delightful bonus during our stay.

The service was beyond my expectation. We stayed in separate single rooms and when we left we carelessly left a small watch charger in one of the rooms and in another we discarded a shirt on the table. The next day we contacted the hotel about the charger and the replied promptly that they found the charger and a shirt. We were willing to pay for the delivery cost but they covered it. For the rate that they charge the service, breakfast, Onsen, cleanliness, and location are well above our expectation.

The staff is EXCELLENT. They were all kind, welcoming, courteous, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, though a little crowded. The location is great. It is very close to the Gotemba station--easy to find and get to. It worked very well for what we were looking for. Breakfast had a good variety of choices, and staff kept all the food selections well supplied.

We had a room with two beds because we thought it would be a little larger, but the beds took up so much room that there was very little space to put out two suitcases. The sink and shower faucet were one in the same. Though it worked, it could use a little updating.

Location is superb about 200 meters from Gotemba train station and you can see the view of mount Fuji.

I left my small beg and texted the hotel to deliver since I was still in Tokyo but to my regret, the hotel responded late even after I have texted them few times and cannot deliver the small beg before I departed to my hometown.

The staff were professional and friendly. Room was spacious and well-equipped. Bed was big and comfortable! We had a great view of Mt. Fuji from our window. We enjoyed breakfast and the onsite onsen! There is a lil' standalone shop selling ramen directly opposite the hotel. It's family-run and everyone was so warm and friendly! Definitely give it a visit if you're staying here

It's a bit of a distance from the bus station, but still quite an easy walk away!

breakfast was sufficient, across the street is a 7-11 and its just 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station. it fit our requirement for our Mt Fuji hiking the next day. would've loved to stay another day when returning to use other facilities. maybe next time

Great location, quick walk from the station. Staff were helpful and attentive. The room had an incredible view of Mt. Fuji, and everything we needed for a night. Breakfast had a lot to choose too. Great value for money!

Unfortunately the room could have been more thoroughly cleaned. It was fairly dusty on surfaces like the table and windowsill (which set off my asthma a little). Looking more closely at less obvious places like under the fridge were REALLY thick, like animal fur, with white/grey dust.

Onsen, reception staff, location, efficient check-in, breakfast was very good, easy checkout.
