My wife and stayed here for the 5th leg of our Japan honeymoon. The staff were extremely friendly and professional here, and our interactions with them were the best out of the 9 hotels we stayed at in Japan. I had been in contact with the hotel since booking to arrange a surprise here for my wife - flowers and chocolate - and Ms. Yoshie Hyuga at Hotel Nikko was able to facilitate my request. She was very attentive to detail, and went as far to ask for any specific flowers I wanted incorporated (orchids) and suggested adding a message to the flowers too -- something I hadn't thought of but of course wanted! Leading up to the stay, Ms. Hyuga kept in contact with me, letting me know the prices for various bouquet sizes, and answering any additional questions I had. When we arrived at Hotel Nikko, our luggage that we had forwarded to the hotel was brought up to the room via the bell service that escorted us to our room and made sure that everything was to our liking. And the bouquet was there, which made both my wife (who was totally surprised) and I very happy. The room itself was very large, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with amenities. The curtains for this room were very good at keeping the room dark, which was a nice change from the hotels we had stayed at prior. Making reservations for the hotel restaurant and bar was a very smooth process, both of which had extremely good food and drinks at shockingly affordable prices. The bar also has a nice jazzy feel with a live singer and pianist. This made for a truly romantic evening. This was one of our favorite stays during our honeymoon. The hotel is located right next to Kanazawa Station, is well insulated from city noise, has great restaurants on the top floors. I would have been happy to spend 3x the rate I paid to stay here.

Our bedside light broke randomly while we were laying in bed. But a phone call to the front desk fixed this issue immediately by providing us an additional light. Not a big deal, but legitimately the only thing I can think of that went "wrong" during our stay here.

This was my favorite hotel during my 17-day trip to Japan during May 2025. Everything about this hotel was wonderful, including the smooth check-in (they let me check-in early, and the concierge was so nice to help me with my bags to my room...he wouldn't take a tip), great room with a view of Kanazawa and the mountains in the distance, friendly cleaning staff, courteous dining room staff, convenient location across the street from Kanazawa Station (including an underground route to the hotel, too), quietness of my room, and the comfy bed. I felt very safe staying at this hotel for four nights and walking outside at night by myself. I liked that they provided abundant towels, which came in handy when I handwashed several clothes in the bathtub and needed to wrap them in towels to remove some moisture before hanging them up to dry in the roomy closet. My room had a mini-fridge, which I stocked with breakfast items from the grocery store across the street in Kanazawa Station. I also liked the pajamas they provided, which were great loungewear while hanging out in my room. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries, although I used my own products for my sensitive skin. I loved the bathroom layout! It had a separate room for the shower beside the bathtub, a separate little room for the toilet (with all the gizmos Japan is known for), and the sink/vanity area with ample storage underneath. I would stay at this hotel again if I'm ever lucky enough to travel back to Kanazawa!

This is a minor point, but I had to wait about 5 minutes for an elevator around 7:50 am when I was rushing to meet a day tour that was meeting up at Kanazawa Station at 8 am. I just added extra time the next day when I had another 8 am meet-up time for a tour.

The hotel is very impressive though a little old, the staff were very attentive and tried to help with any request. Most of the staff only spoke very little English but they tried thier best to help and they all had auto translators.

The sound proofing doesn't entirely block the noise from the street, especially the Shinkansen in the early morning. The air-conditioning didn't cool the room when set to cooling, only heated it. It reset to that state everytime I closed it, so even though I left it open the second day the cleaning staff closed it and I had to call reception every night to come to my room to fix it.

Excellent location, within 5 minute walk from Kanazawa station. The lobby is spaciously comfortable which is an excellent place for waiting and meeting friends. Excellent staff with amiable smile and courtesy. My room was in good size, with an excellent view of the city. The in-room condition was good, everything was clean. It had different dining options with good price, somewhat promotional sale in summer time, it was a shame that I could not try them because I had been fully occupied by something else. I had stayed in other Nikko Hotels but this one, in my opinion, was the best.

Pros - beautiful hotel, we had a big room with a great view. The hotel is probably the highest building in the city so it was easy to navigate back to it when we were out and about. Location-wise it could not be any better - the toyota rental for car drop off was literally next to the hotel, the train station was a pleasant 5-10minutes walk via the underground walkway. We walked everywhere for the three days we were there. The concierge service was excellent - they gave great restaurant recommendations and booked for us weeks before we got there. When we arrived, the concierge gave us a map wi the all the reserved restaurants all marked out. First class service!

Cons - nothing. This is the best hotel we stayed in for our 3.5 weeks trip to Japan.

I liked the staff, they were very helpful; my luggage was sent up, information for the local area was provided and they even offered to check with the restaurant I had made a booking with, about the time. All in all, they make the space, so everyone from cleaners to hosts at the foyer and the Japanese restaurant: they made me feel welcome and looked after. The location is very convenient. The room was lovely as well, very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. Every little detail was taken care of. The food was delicious and there’s items in the menu I’ll look forward to trying again next time. It will be my hotel of choice for Kanazawa.

You can walk underground from the station all the way to the hotel. The concierge was able to help me book difficult to get reservations for high end restaurants. The shower drains and dries well, the bath tub is nice and deep and feels like your own private bath house. The bath room was impeccably clean, every nook and cranny scrubbed including the bidet. I do not use bidets in most places. Room was small but it was comfortable because it’s kept so clean.

The front desk could be friendlier and the building decor looks a bit outdated but that’s it.

The view from the 25th floor over Kanazawa Station to the Sea of Japan impressed us, changing with the sun, rain, sleet from hour to hour. This is a very good large high rise hotel with all conveniences. The trains and busses from Kanazawa station, shopping and restaurants were all very handy. The service both for food and housekeeping was impeccable and the room was very well equipped with nice bathroom amenities, complementary bottled water and a range of refreshments. Loved the pyjamas.

Our double room was a little small for a couple. There was only one bedside table and the bed had received more use on that side so that the mattress sloped - I found myself rolling onto my husband during the night. As vegetarians we found few suitable food options in the hotel restaurants and ended up eating out despite the bad weather.

The property and the room were nothing short of spectacular. Our room was so spacious and comfortable. We even tried to work out how we could change our travel plans to spend longer. The views were remarkable, the range and standard of products in the room were of the highest quality. It was quiet, so convenient to transport and meal options at the mall close by were fantastic for dinner. Staff were polite and able to answer questions we had. We have stayed in other Nikko hotels but this one was the nicest one and we can’t wait to return (or at least advise friends to stay there).

The hotel is connected underground to the Kanazawa train station, convenient for the bus that goes to the old street and to the Kanazawa castle and the superb Kenrokuen. There is also a good mall nearby. It is a deluxe property with good service standards. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, with a very wide and good selection. The room we booked was supposedly the stylish twin room, but what we got turned out to be more like their comfort twin room. The room was of a good size and it was clean and comfortable.

On our first night, we were not given a yutaka. We pointed this out to the housekeeping lady and she supplied them the next evening.
