Very clean, nice traditional Japanese hotel. I have a family of five, and it was nice to have all of us in one room. The staff was accommodating and the room was very clean. The small kitchenette was nice. We didn't cook, but we did make tea and coffee.

It is very inconvenient to go to the check-in place, and then far across town to the hotel. We traveled by train to Kyoto, so it caused 2 cab rides to the check-in and then to the room. The door had a keypad lock, so it would have been so nice to just handle the check in online. The check-in place is very non-descript; it was not easy to identify from the address provided.

The room was big and clean. There are cooking facilities and a nice japanese style room for experience.

There was miscommunication with the accommodation during check-in. Apparently, the reception for you to register is not at the place of accommodation and it is about 30-40 mins walk one way. It would be good if I knew it was different way before hand so that i could plan my route. The good thing was that when we arrived, and realised it wasn't the same place, the person came over to meet us at the accom, otherwise I need to bring my whole family with luggage.

check in is in another location which there is no good easy way to get to the hotel location from. can drop bags here before check in time but then need to go back to this non hotel location to pick them up again instead of them getting brought to the room location.

Nice location easy to access

Great location for sightseeing and trains, had laundry machine and detergent.

Small things like no towel hooks, no clothing deoderizing spray, no shaving razors, never any staff around at the desk, didn't ask but probably can't hold bags while out.

Horrible Booking Experience Despite making our reservation months in advance, our booking was abruptly canceled less than 24 hours before our scheduled check-in. This left us in a horrible situation as we were mid-travel, scrambling to understand and rectify the situation. Due to a lack of response via booking.com’s chat, we had to contact the hotel directly - incurring substantial roaming charges in the process. The staff expressed ignorance regarding the reason for cancellation and we were forced to rebook at a higher price! Upon arrival, we asked for an explanation from the staff responsible for reservations. In a situation that demanded accountability, all we received in return was a smile. If our experience is anything to go by, there's a real risk of being left stranded with no explanation! Potential guests should seriously reconsider their options and perhaps look for accommodations that value and respect their clients.
