The location, located on a side street right in the heart of Gion, easy access to subway stations and bus. The room had a small seating area with a little coffee table and 2 chairs. so was a little larger than all the other hotels we had stayed at so far on this trip. Also laundry in building was convenient and worked well

Everything was good, no complaints. Although nothing to do with the hotel at all but the small restaurant located on the corner of the same building is garbage, with all the places to eat in Gion, avoid this place.

This is a great value for money in a superb location. Despite being right in the midst of Gion it was quiet for sleeping. There are absolutely no frills - really the bare minimum of space for bathroom and beds, no restaurant, and front desk staff only there certain hours - but if you want to save your money for sightseeing and dining as we did you can't do much better. Clean and easy to deal with. A couple tips: you can get breakfast next door at the Granbell for under 2000 yen if you want to eat something other than coffee early in the morning, and get the benefits of a much more expensive hotel without paying for the room there. Also in Japan you can send luggage ahead with various luggage transport services which means you don't have to lug bags on the shinkansen - and the hotel had these brought to our room before we arrived which was great.

It would be nice to have some food options in the morning for breakfast, and the staff wasn't always at the front desk. The bathroom is also only EXACTLY big enough - in fact the sink and bathtub share plumbing. Hard to get dressed in there, for example, if you need privacy from your roommate.

- Very clean - Good facilities: lovely warm toilet, microwave oven, washing and drying machines (coins only) + shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner were provided (i liked the POLA honey shampoo and hair conditioner, and the lovely smell of the shower gel very much!! <3 I wanted to buy some and bring them home!!) - Good location: close proximity to convenient stores, restaurants and a lot of shops selling souvenirs - Good service: 1) We arrived later than the regular check-in time by mistake but upon prior agreement, we were still accepted. (To the receptionist girl who received us: Many many thanks for your kind help!! We would also like to sincerely apologize for disturbing your sleep! >.< ) 2) Another employee was helping other guests and us to solve the laundry issues. He even offered to have our clothes hanging somewhere if they were not dried well by the drying machines. ^u^ - Additional mirror in the room

Location is very easily accessible as it is near to bus & train station. Near attractions which is walkable by foot (near many sakura locations) & Hotel staff is friendly & nice. When we early check in, they help to store our luggages then transfer to our room when it is ready. When we come back from our walk, our luggages are already in our room (which is fantastic service!). Overall experience is above average. If given another chance, will stay again in this hotel.

Room is small similar to other Japanese hotel thus is comparable (open one luggage then no space to walk). If remember correctly, after 10 pm there will be no receptionist at the front desk until next morning.

The property is located very conveniently in the Gion area and close to a subway station and bus stops. The room I booked included a double bed and single, so it could accommodate 3.

The value for this hotel is very good considering the prime location. While I consider this hotel clean, this hotel is not luxurious or new/modern, so if that is important to you, this is not the place for you. The room itself is spacious, but there isn’t a closet or drawers for clothes. There’s 6 hooks on the wall and 4 hangers. The toilet and bathtub/shower are separated which is convenient. However, there is very little space in the bathroom to hang your clothes or place your skincare/cosmetics. An extra shelf of some sort would’ve solved this problem.

Prime location!!! Everything is right outside the hotel (and yet it was peaceful in the room) or just a few minutes walk - konbini such as 7/11, FamilyMart, train station, bus stop, Miffy's kitchen, and other places like Yasaka Shrine, bars, clubs, Pontocho alley, etc. The staff - Arisa and Kawasaki-san are friendly and nice. The room was big for a solo traveler considering the Japanese standard room and it was clean and quite nice. Also, the bath and toilet were separate, that's just great! They had laundry service and a microwave on the ground floor. I eventually extended my stay here. I will be coming back here again for sure!

There is no good view from the room. But it hardly matters!

Location. Was excellent . Soo close to stations .. shops food temples and 7/11 and family mart. Bed was comfy. Chair and table to eat.. .. would definately stay here again when in Kyoto. ... recommend.. Staff so lovely and very polite and helpful Recommend the in house massage too

Fridge broke down and we lost some seafood as food warm when we got back... fridge was replaced quickly but the next one very noisy keeping us awake at night. Not much room for suitcases for 3 people but we managed

The hotel is small but clean and nice. Its location is a bit nice. I would recommend it. There is only one problem, next to it there is a kimono rental shop, don't go there because they lie about the prices and a lot. First they told us to rent a kimono with a haircut for 30 minutes, it would cost us 5500 and 8800 yen, it depends on the kimono we choose, but then after they dressed us they wanted 16500 yen instead of 8800 per person. Don't go there, there are many shops for renting kimono at much cheaper prices even than the official ones, but then we understood

The location and price of this hotel is great. It is right beside the major train stations and right in the middle of Kyoto's beautiful Gion area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The laundry was nice to have and a very good price. Overall I would stay again for the price and location!

The amenities were very basic - you definitely get what you pay for with the cost of the room being so low. The room was very small and had a bit of an off smell that we couldn't get rid of. The window is frosted glass so it feels a bit claustrophobic. There is a very small kitchen area but it's not large enough to sit and with the rooms being so small there isn't anywhere to take a break if you don't want to be out all day.

The staff were friendly and assisted us whenever we needed and were able to take our luggage for us as we arrived a bit too early and wanted to go exploring. The room is a bit basic but a really good size for Kyoto and is clean. The location is fantastic, it was the best part of staying here as you're in Gion district and there are lots of brilliant bars and restaurants to go to in the evenings when it was quiet and no tourists are there.
