It was in good location and walkable to various temples and subway. They had a tub which was a perk and you could get your towels refreshed daily.

Was not informed on the renovation when I booked, which isn’t an issue but the rooms didn’t allow for temperature control, it was just heat. Honestly, I preferred the room being cold. Luckily it was winter time and I just turned off the heat but that left the room a bit stuffy at times. Hopefully when they finish renovating the exterior they will also do a refresh of the interior.

I like the location! It speaks of everything!

When I first check in the room was very dirty and dusty. I was sneezing the whole night and my wife was coughing. Didn’t bother to ask reception for change as it was late. Next morning we explain to reception and she ask to come up to view. That’s when she saw the condition and immediately ask us to pack up for a change of room. We were shown a higher floor room but the difference is night and day. Room was clean, comes with humidifier and instantly could see that room was well clean up, So thank you for showing hospitality to the utmost!

The location was perfect — close to public transport and within walking distance of many great attractions. The best part of our stay was the exceptional customer service. We had an issue with our initial room, but the staff were incredibly supportive and resolved the problem immediately. Their kindness and efficiency made a big difference to our trip. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved the location! It’s right in the heart of the busiest street, just steps from Geisha Street. I could even see a shrine from my window. Souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, and kimono stores were all just feet away. If I get the same or a similar room, I would stay here again and again. I couldn’t be happier. The bathroom was decent — they provided toothbrushes, toothpaste, hairbrushes, and more. Beds were okay, but the window view\... I could live there!

Perfect place to stay in the heart of Kyoto - Gion. For me the location was everything since it allowed me to explore things at night while there are less tourists. Kōdai-ji temple looks amazing at night, and even just strolling through Gion is amazing. It is in a main street with bus station nearby. There is also a metro station maybe 500 meters away. It was easy to move around. The hotel room was nice, since they are never too big, they had elevated beds were we could store our luggage, this is a plus. Hotel had all the amenities. Staff was nice and really helpful when we decided to use the services that ship our bags to the next hotel. Helped us with the paperwork and even confirmed with the next hotel that everything was ok to receive our bags there.

Air conditioning is not controlled by the guests or even by the hotel. It was so cold in the room that we could only turn it off and hope to be warmer. As a solution, hotel asked if we wanted more blankets... After turning it off it was ok, but it never felt as comfortable as other hotels were we control the A/C. Breakfast seems expensive at the hotel so we did not try it, but there are a lot of places to have breakfast a few meters from the hotel.

We loved this hotel! It has an excellent location in Gion, making it possible to walk to many places or take the subway, which is right next door. We stayed in the King-Size Bed Room, which is huge and very spacious! There is no daily cleaning, but they leave clean towels at your door every day. All bathroom amenities are provided. The bathtub was essential for relaxing at the end of the day. The staff is very attentive and helpful—I would stay at this hotel again!

Property was in an excellent location and with plenty of bus stops nearby. Hotel is currently being refurbished but we did not experience any noise issues during our stay. Great little laundry room there which was very welcome after spending 7 days in Tokyo. Helpful staff.

Could have been a bit cleaner. The two glasses provided in the room were actually quite dirty as was a cover provided to put on top of the bedding to help keep it clean.

Wonderful location right on a busy street with lots of food shops, souvenir shops, and personal care and cosmetic stores. For us, the station we needed to use was relatively close to a subway station, just a few minutes walk away. The room was bigger than your average sized Japanese business hotel room, but it could be because this hotel seems to largely cater to tourists. We were able to comfortably fit our 2 pieces of luggage in the room no problem. Very generous with amenities, they even provide hair ties for women!

The hotel staff seemed to speak limited English, but were polite and helpful nonetheless.

The best location! In front of Yasaka Shrine, walking distance Ninenzaka, Senenzaka, Kiyomuduzera, Nishiki Market and a lot more. 1 train to Fushima Inari, 1 bus to philosophers path. We watched the sunset at the nearby river while drinking coffee, had walked throught the streets of Gion at night, walked through temples in the morning. Starbucks at 1st floor and outside is full of japanese street foods. Good hotel breakfast, the rooms were clean and big enough, good ammenities. Loved my stay here for 5days in Kyoto.

Easily the comfiest beds in japan! The location was amazing, stepping out to a shrine on your right and the gion district on your left with plenty of shops and a Starbucks around made everything easy.

Building work was going on during the stay so no outside views and loud noise during the day, not a huge deal however and obviously temporary. No laundry machines.
