breakfast was very good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Location and price was really good as well. Its only a few blocks away from the Kyoto Subway and 1,000 yen taxi ride from Kyoto Station. They only have one washer/dryer, but less then one block away there is a coin laundry with plenty of them.

There was a little bit of dust that made it seem like the area around the bed headboard had not been dusted for a while. Everything else was very clean though!

I loved the interior and all the facilities. The room was spacious for a hotel room in Japan. Additionally, I liked that it was very centrally located (next to Karasuma Station), which allowed for easy access to everything, but it was not in the crowded tourist area of Shijo. Everything was so clean, and the shared bath had a great view to a garden space.

Once we entered, the hotel staff immediately approached us and asked for a passport. Even though they were fine afterwards - we could put our heavy bags down and take out everything necessary, I feel incredibly rushed upon entering. There is no need for such a hurry when someone has a huge suitcase and a backpack. I know they probably mean it well but I was frustrated a bit at first.

It had rooms with three beds, which are not available in many hotels.

Flight was delayed a day due to the typhoon so I wanted to extend another day but they ran out of 3-bed rooms. I wanted to squeeze the three of us into a twin room but they were too rigid and wanted us to book 2 rooms.

The hotel is colorful and attractive. The lobby looks onto a Japanese garden with comfortable chairs where we enjoyed reading time. The onsen/public bath is great and was not too crowded at the time I went, 6pm. The beds were very comfortable and the shower had nice pressure.

The breakfast offerings were never warm enough which, given it was winter, was less than ideal. Eating was further problematic in that we were there during the holiday period - Dec 29-Jan 4 - when most restaurants in the neighborhood were closed. In addition, all the museums and palaces were closed. We had not understood this would be the case when planning our trip to Japan. Kyoto was extremely crowded during this period. The buses were often too packed to get on and any restaurant that was open required lining up. Most did not take reservations.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the local tube and there’s a bus that takes you directly to Shin-Osaka station which we found convenient since we arrived by Shinkansen. The hotel was phenomenal and the service was excellent. The staff even helped us out with making restaurant reservations as we couldn’t make local phone calls. The facilities are amazing and we were able to use the in house washing machines to do laundry. The public bath is an amazing addition. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with both local Japanese delicacies and continental dishes. If you get a choice you should absolutely look to include breakfast in your stay it was the highlight of our trip!

I paid for the breakfast which was excellent with their selection of traditional Japanese food and western food. Hotel location was convenient to get to the Karasuma Station where I could catch the express train to Osaka. Also it was central to catching buses to many historical sites in the west, east and north. The room with two twin beds was adequate. Loved the Toto digital toilet.

Room was a little tight for two people with suitcases.

Stayed at Mitsui Garden hotels for 3D2N. Room was small but nice and comfy, with humidifier provided. Breakfast was great (choices were similar to most other hotels, but not too crowded hence we had breakfast peacefully. Hotel location was 2 stations away from Kyoto station, however we can take the #50 bua direct from Kyoto station which stops in front of the hotel. Traveling to other areas such as Kyoto Bal, Gion and others could be reached by bus or train. There’s a family mart just 2-3 buildings next to the hotel hence very convenient. Public bath was not that big, with ~10 shower booths however was good enough and amenities provided (shampoo, conditioner, soap, facial wash, cleanser)

My pre-delivered luggage was told to be already in my room. However when I went to my room it was another traveller’s luggage. However the issue was addressed promptly by the hotel staff and my luggage was delivered within <5 mins to my room. Turns out the hotel staff mis-clipped the receipt paper. The hotel provided me some candies as form of apologies upon check out. No view in the room - window was facing a small residential apt building. AC directly sprays to my face while sleeping.

This was our favorite hotel during our stay in Japan. The hotel is quite big, not very personal, but it was actually much better than we expected. We got a free upgrade to a Moderate room when we arrived and that room was very spacious and nice. The TV had netflix etc and all other basic facilities you need. Beds was very comfortable. It is not the most central hotel but easy to get to all other parts of the city. We found a cute small road with lots of nice restaurants nearby. We would have wished we stayed here longer! There was a small spa also but we didn't use this.

Check-in fast and efficient. Room and all the facilities were very comfy and useful. Laundromat in the hotel, which is super useful. Room size is just enough for 1-2 people. Hotel is 5 minutes away from Shijo metro station (connection to Kyoto train station) and to Karasuma station (direct connection to Osaka-Umeda station).

I couldn't find anything problematic in the hotel.

The location was quiet but convenient. Ideal for a decent walk to Karasuma and beyond using various rail ways.. The room was clearly recently regraded and tasteful without being over the top nor boring. Breakfast was consistent and provided a good cross section of Japanese and Western bits and pieces. A diner should be able to find sufficient to enjoy breakfast. The Coffee was good even though I am a Tea preference person.

I like a bit of fresh air so the window wasn't opening sufficiently. I noticed an earlier occupant had opened the window beyond its designated stops. The toilet flush had to be watched and adjusted to reduce water running wastage. The first night I did open the window ajar but it was quite noisy (we were on the third floor overlooking the road) but after shutting it, it was peaceful.
