Close to the JR Kyoto Station, friendly staff, free welcome drink every night, free coffee, tea and cold water. Bigger (bath) rooms than other hotels in the same price range.

Drying machines need renovation, they simply don't work (clothing is hot but stays damp, even after 1,5h....). Breakfast needs to be booked way in advance. Can't be booked on the day itself or even on the day before. Always 'fully booked',no more room, even if it's a buffet and not all the tables are full. Very weird!

Location was excellent. Room size was good. All toiletries were included.

The carnage, due to the fact that the rooms are not open to access until 2pm. The lobby is crammed with people waiting to access their room. Really odd this process.

As an Irish traveller it was difficult to find a good breakfast in Japan. The breakfast in sakura at 1600 yen was very good and very similar to a breakfast at home if you wanted (sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon etc), it of course had more Japanese style food aswell which was also beautiful. At 1600 yen per person I could not fault it. The room was clean and had sound sleep each night. The public bath was well organised and was refreshing after a full day sightseeing. The complimentary drink each evening was also very appreciated (alcoholic or non). The staff were exceptional for a non Japanese speaker at any time of the day, there always seemed to be at least one staff member at reception with very good English even if the initial contact was not perfect (this is not a negative as it's my ignorance not knowing any Japanese but was highly appreciated). Was very close to kyoto station which would take you anywhere you wanted and was right beside Kujo station (literally seconds from front door) so as a comfortable Base it was perfect.

Breakfast seemed to be sold out when asking the person sitting the people but then at reception I was able to purchase breakfast. Extremely minor issue but was slightly confusing.

Next to Kujo underground station which connects with Kyoto Station which is great for travelling. Just one stop away. The staff where friendly, warm and helpful. The public baths excellent. Everything exceptionally clean. Kyoto Station is massive with lots of food and a high end department store. Sakura Terrace is one side of this and the Gion area the other side. Taxis are good value, no need to tip and will save you time and energy when visiting all the Shrines and Temples. It was very busy most places as tourism has increased. The buses and hop on bus are easy to use. I highly recommend and would like to thank everyone at Sakura Terrace for an excellent stay. The lobby was great for a free drink each night and the breakfast was excellent value for money.

Great for a longer stay and spacious for 2 people. The staff were friendly, the facilities were super clean, and they give you an outfit to wear to the onsen! Or can be used as pajamas. A tote bag and flip flops are also available for the facility. The female onsen is locked behind a key pad door for privacy and the bath was nice and hot. There’s even an area of the bath for those that struggle with getting up or sitting down (bars are in the water). The lounge area is nice and large for multiple guests to hang out. And you get one free drink a night per person from the bar (alcohol or non-alcoholic). There’s also coffee and tea areas for you to enjoy at your leisure. The bathroom was nice and spacious compared to other places we stayed. And there was room to leave out our luggage. The hotel is right next to the metro line (literally right outside the front door). Only downside was the WiFi. The connection was really terrible throughout the day and night, where the phones had a hard time staying connected. Just as a heads up for anyone that may need to conduct business or wish to unwind at the end of a long day out and this would be important.

Location was brilliant, there is a metro station as you walk out of the hotel. 7 min walk from the main train station. 10 min walk from a massive mall (forgotbthe name), 5 min walk to Don Q., plenty of food options around. The room is spacious, happy with the cleaning, bathroom spacious, air conditioning, you can also open the windows (saying this as i came across a hotel where i couldn't). The bed mattress was so good (i suffer from saiatica and my back was killing me the first 2 days from all the walking. I slept so well thanks to the mattress and was pain free by the 3rd day). They also have blackout curtains (for anyone interested in a dark room during their sleep). I recommend staying here and if I'll go back to Kyoto I would stay here again. Staff helpful as I needed an iron and a charger and they provided these. They also have a smoking area at the back. A free drink each evening. Also, their massage chairs are amazing!!

Nothing to add in this section.

A great amount of room for a Japanese hotel. It was clean and the staff was polite. It is next to the subway station which made traveling so nice. Each room has its own air conditioning and they have translations of the most important buttons on the remote.

There isn't individual room wifi and I could not spot the private hotel wifi password on the laminated information sheet provided in the room. The dryers in the laundry facilities are slow and delicate. The handle came off one and I had to spend several minutes figuring out how to put it back on. There is a sign to be careful and gentle but it still detached from the door while I was being gentle. It would be nice to have a little photo of how it should connect to the door attached to the warning sign. The positions of the outlets are not conducive for charging next to the bed. It's not a big issue, you just need to be aware to bring a long charging cord if you need your phone next to you.

Traveling with our late teen/early twen sons, the lavish breakfast buffet was a main highlight of Sakura Terrace. It offered Japanese and western food, both cold and hot, various types of fruits and pastries and plenty of drink options. The lobby was really a place to relax, with free drinks during the day, massage chairs and a small library of interesting books. The clean rooms had a good size, with very comfortable beds and practical bathrooms. The washing and drying machines were free to use and even had a few laundry stands available. The location was perfect, 1 metro stop or 10 min walk from the main station, with a metro station right in front of the hotel.

Rooms are of decent size.some with balconies. Beds are large and comfortable.Ground floor sitting area is big and very convenient for groups sitting. Free massage chairs, a free complementary drink for guests and free tea/coffee facilities during day time was an surprising pleasant touch. The hotel also offers free laundry facilities and public bath opened erly ithe morning and in the evenings. Proximity to a subway station and only 600 meters to Kyoto station makes it easy to get to any side of Kyoto. Highly recommended hotel

Staff were friendly, the free welcome drink each night and tea/coffee bar were a nice touch, the onsen was nice to use. Breakfast was very tasty when we tried it (1600 yen per person). Overall a very nice and relaxing environment. It's also next to Kujo metro station exit 2, although you need to take 3 flights of stars to leave it. It's about a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station. The ice machine was awesome. There's a 7-eleven across the road.

The Wi-Fi was very slow and often disconnected. The king size bed was against the wall so you could only get in from 1 side or the end. The washing machines were always busy and not the clearest instructions. We ended up going to the coin laundry to dry our clothes. The luggage sending was twice the price of the 7 eleven across the road.
