Hotel is located one bus stop/one short walk away from Hankyu Karasuma station, and is a short bus ride away from the shopping districts of Shijo and Sanjo. With two supermarkets and one convenience store beside and across the road, you'll never run out of food. The amenities bar offers a fresh change of loungewear and other essentials every day. The water dispenser by the counter means you don't need to buy bottles of water. As a solo traveler staying for three weeks, the room was plenty spacious. I was worried when I read reviews about the rooms being warm, but turning off the beside light helps. Adjusting the aircon's fan speeds accordingly helped keep the room cool. Fridge, shower/bathtub, toilet, bed, kettle were all working well. Soaps provided smelt and felt good. Pillow was a little too high for me, but the reception was kind enough to provide me with a lower one. For longer stays, room cleaning is done once every three/four days, which worked well for me. Staff were friendly and approachable, and I had no problems communicating with them.

This is really nitpicking - the fridge hums on occasion, which may disturb some light sleepers. The netting of the chair in my room was also a little sunk in, which was a little uncomfortable for my back. Other than that, nothing else comes to mind, especially for the price paid.

The staff were overall really kind and helpful with any questions. I was always greeted and acknowledged entering/leaving. There is a space near reception where you can collect any towels/razors/tea etc. that you need for your room. The hotel rooms are really quiet despite being on a main busy street. There are several supermarkets, 7-Eleven etc. on the same street. The laundry service is really affordable and easy to use.

Staff don't service the room every day so you have to either leave your trash out or wait until the next cleaning day. I noticed guests weren't obeying the rules with the laundry machines which are on the 6th floor so they would continue to use them past the designated times at night. Also I dropped off my luggage to be forwarded to Osaka when I checked out - I didn't know it would take overnight to arrive at my next hotel. I scheduled this 2 days before I left so I would have preferred to know I wouldn't have my luggage and clothes overnight - I could have packed some things or dropped the luggage earlier.

This was our second time visiting since 2020, and this hotel is still amazing! The locality is great and very convenient with the supermarket across the road.

We had an issue with the aircon not working properly in our room and it felt like we were trying to sleep in a sauna, BUT the staff were AMAZING and helped us out with moving to another room

Great location for the hotel, which I consider to be the best neighborhood in Kyoto! Located very close to the subway and the castle, with a supermarket and multiple convenience stores nearby, and with a coin laundry available in the hotel, which is very convenient. They had umbrellas to lend, which was great since it only rained one day, and we didn't have an umbrella with us. The room was great, a bit tight, but that's Japan for you, so I have no complaints!

The bed was a bit small compared to the other double beds we have in Japan.

The staff were very kind, welcoming and explained everything we needed to know, the buffet breakfast was lovely, the food was perfectly cooked and kept, good quality, the hotel itself, our room and surrounding area was very clean and maintained

The room was very small, it was uncomfortable for two people, it felt very claustrophobic when both moving around, especially with bags and cases in the room as well. The lighting was terrible, even with the curtain drawn back and light on. Other than that, no complaints!

The staff were great especially the 2 guys and one girl that worked evenings throughout the week of December 4-10. They gave great tips for additions to my already well optimized itinerary. They suggested great local food options and some tips for living like a local.

No air-conditioning. It's controlled by the hotel for heat or cold and your air-conditioning works based off of their hot / cold setting. They had heat on and it was like an oven the first 2 nights but we left the window cracked while it was 42F and just tried to balance out the temp. The shower also had some malfunctions while we were there but they fixed / accommodated it accordingly.

The highlight of staying at this hotel is the location - extremely conveniently located for access, and it has a convenience store right next to it. The staff is very warm and efficient - they were prompt in responding to any requests. The rooms were good as well.

The interiors do feel a little dated, but the comfort compensates for it. However, the hotel does not offer daily room cleaning, which substantially affects the comfort and luxury of staying in a hotel. They also don't have a smoking zone on the premises.

The bed was super comfortable. The room and the bathroom were spacious compared to the hotels in Tokyo. The staff is very nice and friendly. They helped me to ship my luggage to another hotel. The location is very good with a big supermarket across the street. I used to get coffee and breakfast from there the day before because it was cheaper.

My room was on the 6th floor where there was a washing machine and dryers. Most of the time they were both working when I was leaving in the morning and getting back in the evening and because of the dryers, the air felt stagnant. It’s not a big problem but a bit unpleasant.

1. It was near the metro station. 2. Room size was decent. 3. There were 2 supermarkets and one convenience store very close by. 4. Room had kettle and refrigerator.

It took a long time for the water to get hot. This happened every time I turned the water on. Rather incovenient especially when I was only brushing my teeth, washing my face or hands. For showers, I had to let the water run for a minute or two before hot water came out - a waste of water as well.
