The staff were exceptionally courteous and professional. The location was peaceful and away from noise, offering a relaxing atmosphere—yet still conveniently close to the train station, just about a 6-minute walk away.

When booking this suite, it was stated that a kitchen was included, but unfortunately, there was no kitchen in the room at all. That said, the staff were kind and helped me work around this issue. The location is far from the city center and lively areas, which could be either a positive or a negative depending on your travel goals. There was also a strict enforcement of the check-in time, even though the room was ready—this seems to be a common practice across many hotels in Japan.

The staff were incredibly professional at every opportunity. The room had customisable air conditioning. A bottle of water was provided every day. The room had a capsule machine and a coffee pod and green tea pod were provided each day along with coffee creamer and sugar. There is a nearby bus stop with regular services for central Umeda…

… but subway access is inconvenient with a tedious transfer or significant walking required. The bathroom door closes as soon as you let go of the handle and I did not see a door-stopper. I would recommend only providing towels in the daily bag and not a complete refill of all amenities in order to conserve resources. The walls are soundproof but the window isn’t.

This was a small hotel with two guest rooms on each floor. We really appreciated the spaciousness of our room and its beds. (We cannot attest to the spaciousness of other rooms.) It allowed us, for example, to do our morning floor exercises. The bedding was also very adequate and comfortable. Hotel appeared to be a family-run place that took pride in the hotel's appearance and cleanliness. Hotel was not really close to the subway, but still within easy walking distance. It does not offer breakfast, which is OK. Our room did have a fridge, which allowed us to stock up some simple breakfast foods from a nearby Lawsons or 7-Eleven.

There was nothing to dislike. There is no exercise facility.

everything the staff were top tier and even the 3000 burger owner amazing went out his way to grab the hotels coupon for free fries. the hotel staff are beyond polite and super helpful with Taxi. having the park across the road was super nice. and the pillows i love them lol if you don't get daily room service they will leave fresh towels and amenities on your door

Close to station, easy to get around to as two subway lines in Awaza. Also bus stop just in front of the hotel that goes to Osaka station. Two supermarkets that closes late nearby. Nice park just across the street. They don’t have many rooms so it’s nice and quiet, room decent size. All staff were super polite and accommodating.

Really big and clean room. The suite we booked was on the top floor with an amazing view. The only tiny issue was the proximity to the centre. The station is 5 mins walking from the hotel. The area is quiet and clean with amenities near by. They also have lovely burger restaurants which makes one of the best burgers.

Little far from the center and dull area at night not many eateries nearby

Hotel Shiki Utsubo was the best place I stayed in all of Japan. Staff were so kind - allowed me to store my bag before check-in, even put the bag in my room for me ahead of check-in, greeted me every time I came/left, gave me a Band-Aid when I got a packing injury. Room was impeccably clean. Bathroom so well-equipped and comfortable - great water pressure on the shower. Excellent wi-fi. Room had a mini-fridge and kettle. Quiet location across the street from a park, which had a huge and gorgeous rose garden, yet still walkable to major attractions like Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori area. Very reasonable price (possibly because it was a weekday).

Grasping at straws here because there's literally nothing I would complain about, but if I had to pick something, I'd say there was a kettle and coffee machine that takes pods but no pods or instant coffee or tea were provided. Would have been a nice extra touch to be able to make coffee/tea in the room (without needing to pick up the ingredients myself ahead of time) but honestly everything else was so fantastic it wasn't even an issue.

Overall it’s a good property. Staff are very friendly. Room is much bigger than I thought, convenient location to USJ and easy bus transportation to Osaka station

The booking website mark it to be 4 stars while in fact it’s 3 star hotel which is out of expectation. The room was on 3rd floor with big balcony outside facing the road which as a solo female traveler feel not so comfortable and safe at night. The bus can be busy sometimes for ppl who prefer taking metro instead

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, the room was large and comfortable! Lovely view of the park, close to family marts and 7/11 and the Awaza station. We would 100% stay again next time we are in Osaka and recommend them to everyone we know 😊

Staff was very accommodating. We appreciated a larger room for our 4 night stay. The room was super clean. As a coffee drinker the coffee machine was fabulous. Our breakfast each morning was perfect.

For our itinerary the location was difficult at times. That being said, it was a great hotel.
