Great central location, friendly staff, room was large and comfortable with clothes washing facilities.

Darkest mirror I have ever seen in a hotel room! Not possible to do makeup in properly unfortunately.

I was a little nervous coming to this hotel after booking a non-refundable room and reading some multiple reviews after I made the booking. There were concerns regarding cleanliness and lighting being too dark. I'm writing this review to hopefully help out this property, and this is definitely non-solicited by the hotel management. Arrival process was easy and quick and the front desk agents were very friendly and helpful. We were able to check-in early and this was completed within two minutes. The room cleanliness was not an issue, the surfaces, bathroom, and the bed were very clean. We stayed for two nights and missed to request for housekeeping service, not an issue at all as we had sufficient room supplies and towels for the short stay. The room is not that dark, people are exaggerating it. Bed area has ceiling and bedside lamps. The bathroom was bright and well lit. The hallway and sink area could be brighter but this was not an issue, it was part of the mood of the room. The hallways are, however, DARK with minimal lighting. However, this was part of the design and it was rather a beautiful mood and interior design. If generic Marriott hotel designs like the ones in the US is your thing, avoid this hotel at all costs and go be basic. This boutique is lovely for interior design junkies like us. The location is perfect - close to shopping areas and Dohtonbori, and right across from a Wagyu BBQ place and a convenience store. Thanks for a great stay! Would definitely come back again!

Nothing at all. Keep up the consistency with cleanliness to prove people wrong if they read negative reviews.

The room was luxurious and the entire stay felt very premium. The toilet being separate from the shower and bath was a huge plus. The hotel was the perfect distance from Dotenbori to avoid the crowds but still enjoy walking the area. So many incredible restaurants were just around the corner from the hotel as well. The hotel was definitely a huge part on why staying in Osaka is better than Tokyo.

The alarm for the in unit laundry was quite loud and the first load woke me up. If you’re going to do laundry with the in unit I would make sure not to put the load in at night even if the washer dryer combo will take care of everything on its own.

The hotel was in a fabulous location, right in the center of Dotonbori. We had a room on floor 14 so very quiet. Staff were extremely helpful on the front desk. Very modern and lovely ambience as you walked into the hotel and great chill out areas. I would stay at this hotel again when visiting Osaka.

The rooms were very dark, I like a dark room but just a bit too dark for us to see. If they changed the mirror from tinted to normal and put a full-length normal mirror in the room, it would be better. My husband struggled to shave, and I couldn't see to put make up on. The reception gave us a small stand-up desk mirror that did help. Housekeeping was a bit of a hit or miss and we had to ask for towels and bin change on 3 occasions out of 7, even though we had requested this with the note on the door.

Great location for dotonburi and shopping. Loved having washer in room

Needs more lights in the room. Don’t even try packing at night without a flashlight. Lots of restaurants nearby but very few kid friendly places. Most wouldn’t allow kids at all.

Location is amazing! It’s a short distance from several well connected stations and a short walk to the Dotonbori / Shinsaibashi / Americamura area. There’s a konbini directly in front too so anything I need, I can just pop downstairs. If you’re worried about halal food, it’s super close by to Halal Ramen Naniwaya and other places. Definitely would come back again. Yes, the corridor is dark but that didn’t bother me and the rooms aren’t as dark as I thought either. Rooms were kept clean and the washing machine meant I could come back from the trip with a clean wardrobe and not much washing to do!

Tried the restaurant and it’s okay but fair warning the seasonings and taste is acclimatized to the japanese taste. i wouldn’t say its authentic italian but pretty good unless you’re expecting authentic italian.

So far, Mercure is the best hotel we have ever stayed in Japan. They have perfect customer service thanks to their brand name. Since the 1st day I booked the hotel on Booking.com, their customer service already followed up to make sure my request is fulfilled (I requested extra bed for the children). They also supported me to arrange the shipment of our luggage back to Tokyo and helped us to fill out all the form and connected to our next hotel. Room is spacious, enough for the kids to play inside room. The bathroom is also amazing with bath tub and both hand held and rain shower heads and they are the only hotel provide the body lotion among 3 other hotels we stayed during our 8 days trip in Japan. Their breakfast is super delicious with variety of choices. The only small complaint if I ever had will be the hotel is a bit dark, but I guess it is their unique style :). So 10/10 and for sure I will be back one day.

Location is unbeatable. Locate just off the Dotonburi area. Between 2 main metro lines, pink and red. Many walking directions, almost in the center of it all. It's very convenient to get around. The area is very close to an Embassy (literally 20 steps away), so there are always armed guard nearby the front of the hotel 24/7, I kind of like it. Also there's a family mart in the front, and it's also a Luup parking spot. The corner room was spacious and with night view. We could place 2 big luggages wide open (in front of where the TV is) and still have room to walk around easily!

We stayed on the 10th floor, but I could easily hear people who came out drinking chatting/laughing in front of the family mart late night to almost morning. There were also motorcycle gangs that intentionally came to make noise doing at least 4-5 rounds everynight. Also I can hear the guests next room coughing very loudly one of the nights. Eventhough the room was bigger than most and the bath room was spacious, there were almost no place to place your toiletry kits because the bathroom sink area was very small, and almost nowhere to hang anything apart from one hook. The hotel and the rooms were very dark and many have reviewed. It's not a problem for me, but my wife find it hard to do her make up. Personally, I find the 2 pillows provided too flat and quite tiny.

Great hotel, fantastic location, good sized room & comfy beds. We booked a Superior Room with 1 queen bed. Really friendly staff & super helpful reception. Found sending our luggage to our next hotel super easy with their help & they received our luggage at the beginning of stay with no issues. A lot of reviews when I was booking this said it was a dark hotel & lacked lighting, I disagree with the premise of hotel itself or the rooms being dark. The room had dimmer switches so all you need to do is turn the levels up if you want more light in the room. The design of the common areas while being moody & contemporary it is not overly dark it just discourages loitering in corridors so as to not disturb the rooms in the area. The lighting design is very clever & relaxing. The lobby was brightly lit & because of this other guests tended to be very loud in this area so much so you could hear them when eating breakfast from the floor above, all other areas were quiet.

The breakfast was not bad but it wasn't great either. We found it really blah. If we booked this location again we wouldn't bother with booking the breakfast too.
