Location is great - 3-5 mins walk to metros and JR line. Family mart right outside. Cosy bunker rooms. Clean rooms and clean toilet. Worth the money.

Shared kitchenette is a bit dirty. I guess some guests don’t clean after use.

We stayed at Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel for 4 nights with our family and had a wonderful experience. The place is clean, tidy, and beautifully maintained. It's in a great location—very easy to reach from the nearest station, and both 7-Eleven and FamilyMart are just a short walk away, which was super convenient. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, providing great support whenever we needed it. Ueno Park is also nearby, which made for lovely family strolls. The room was comfortable, with good heating and cooling, and we all slept well at night. There’s even a small desk and a table lamp, which was perfect for getting a bit of work done. The bathroom facilities were clean and functional, and we appreciated having access to the common kitchen area and laundry services during our stay. Overall, it was a hassle-free and pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend this hostel to families or anyone looking for a peaceful, well-located stay in Tokyo.

Location! 2-3 minutes walk from Yushima station, 6 minutes walk from Ginza line. 10-15 minute stroll to Ameyokocho shopping, Ueno station and Akihabara. Clean! Private restroom with bathtub and super clean. The rooms are configured in a useful layout providing some space and didn’t feel cramped. We had a family of five and two of the bunks are on top, so please consider this if traveling with elderly or have physical special abilities related to climbing small ladder. The bunks are solid and offer a privacy curtain. The room has all the basic necessities and the kitchen/fridge is located on 4th floor dormitory style like at college. Our tween kids loved this and it was a glimpse into college life.

Well-located hostel in a neighborhood known for its safety and order. Common areas are a bit small, but it has a washer and dryer — a great convenience if you’ve been traveling for several weeks. This is a hostel geared toward Western travelers, with the basics you need to enjoy the city. The metro is about a 10-minute walk away, and there are restaurants nearby with good food at fair prices. The room lacked amenities and was very, very basic — no refrigerator or TV, just the bare minimum. If you’re staying only a short time, this is not a major issue; however, for stays longer than three days, I would recommend looking for larger rooms elsewhere.

Really solid place to stay nothing fancy. Never stayed at a hostel before so was not sure what to expect. We booked a private room with a private bathroom. My kids enjoyed the bunk beds with the curtains for privacy. I liked the smaller feel. Front desk was always very helpful and spoke English. The lounge was nice to heat up food or get hot water. Hot water, mini fridge and microwave on each floor. We used the laundry and it was easy. They even give you soap. My favorite thing was the nice shower pressure. Walking to the trains was decent. They had loaner umbrellas when it rained. We walked to Uneo park(10 mins) good cafes close by and shopping. They helped us ship our big suitcases to the next hotel.

No real issues. Go in expecting a clean no frills place. The come in and take out your trash daily. The beds could have been softer but I slept fine. The curtains make noise but the kids really enjoyed being in their own space. Very budget friendly and they are very kind to talk to

Great location, yet a quiet area. Very accommodating to all sorts of travelers. Super close to the train station and a short walk to Akihabara. The room was comfortable and they had a wide array of amenities such as washing machines and dryers and a public shower space incase your roommates were using the room bathroom. Never a moment where I needed someone’s help and they weren’t there.

The curtains on the bed are super loud even if you move them slowly so it’s kinda hard to get up in the middle of the night without making a lot of noise but the addition of bed curtains in general was a very welcome feature and the curtains did block out a lot of noise as well.

Clean in all area, easy access to Yushima Station, surrounded by nice small local restaurants from izakaya, home cook, famous fish, coffee shops, family mart, dorayaki with red beans and other redbeans traditional cookies also walking distance Ameyoko market. Staff speaks english really well, very helpfull and kind. You can keep your luggages before check in or after check out. I travel with 3 kids and they really love bunked beds 😍 Kitchen small and basic, only one stove. Every floor get microwave and refrigerator so you don’t need to go to kitchen all the time.

Laundry machine busy most of the time, have to wait but there is no queue number etc, so when the previous laundry done and you were not there, other people will take the chance. But i finally made it in the midnight.

The room was very spacious. We were a family of five and able to move around the room comfortably. The hostel also offers free self-service laundry. It also has a shower room and comfort rooms in the common areas, just in case you need them. Very close to restaurants, shops, and train stations.

The only downside of our stay in this hostel was the noise of the kids' footsteps on the upper floor. Nonetheless, we are happy with our stay in this hostel. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay in room 605. Children just loved the bunk beds. The room can accommodate us a family of 3 adults and 4 children ranging from 3-8 years old. Facilities wise, the room is equipped with air con and heater, water heater, towels, toothbrush tooth paste, shampoo and shower gel, beddings and winter blankets. Location: its near to train / metro stations After check out 10am, we are able to leave our luggage in front of reception counter and continued our sight seeing. We came back around 5pm and manage to freshen up using the level 4 common shower, bathroom and have a quick bite at pantry before we leave for the airport. Value for money. Highly recommended.

For washing clothes, we used the washer and dryer, but the dryer isn't strong enough to dry our clothes - need to redo another round. Washer - 200yen (approx 30 min) Dryer - 100 yen (30 min)
