Its proximity to the beach and that it wasn’t far from the Ukunda airport was a win for us. The breakfast was good especially on “Swahili breakfast”. The staff was very friendly always and helpful when there was need.

The only perk was the shortage of shade at the front beach. There were quite a good number of guests and with the sun so hot, there wasn’t enough shade for all so it became a competition for who booked the sun beds in the shade first. That was annoying because at one point it led to a conflict between us and another guest. So my suggestion would be to get more shades 😊

This is our third stay at Bahari Dhow and it never fails to impress. The hotel represents amazing value for money. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy and the monkeys are cheeky. The breakfast is also amazing. The onsite Kite Surfing school is great and Hassan is the best teacher in Diani. We loved our stay as usual!!

Don’t expect 5 star service at this price. The hot water may not work, the mosquito nets may have holes and you might be waiting longer than average for a fresh towel, but if you aren’t fresh off the boat these things shouldn’t bother you in Kenya!

The property itself is beautiful with the villas overlooking the pools which are massive. There is a beachside restaurant at the back of the property, and direct access to the ocean with loungers lining the side of the property. We really enjoyed our stay here and our only regret is not staying longer. We stayed 3 days prior in Shanzu, and if we did it again, we’d skip Shanzu altogether and just stay here!

The bed was hard but it was still ok. The ONLY other thing would be that it is not within walking distance of the “downtown” area where the shops and more restaurants are. But we were fine with this as it was nice to have a balance of a more peaceful accommodation, and just go into the downtown area when we wanted to. Ubers are very cheap!

villas are great and kept clean, pools are well maintained bedrooms and showers excellent staff are very helpful and polite

facilities aging, hot water pipe in kitchen gave rusty water for a few mins. kitchen was functional.but severely lacked cooking equipment, basic things such as a sharp knife not present, all utensils were rusty. on property cooking facilitiy was very disappointing and not to a great standard.possibly.responsible for me and my wife's poorly stomach for the week.

The beach contact was the best of this accommodation. I suggest to choose a deluxe room with balcony. There are 2 others room in a villa. If you have a chance, you are alone, if not, you have to share the kitchen, the fridge :-) and the seating area. Pool is quite clean. Garden is very nice. Bed was comfy, huge room with AC. Fruit jujces are delicious. A Carrefour supermarket is 3 minutes in tuk-tuk.

Garde robe room was not clear, we did not use it. Washroom is a bit used, needs maintenance, mainly valves. Water pression is weak. Breakfast is quite good for Europeans. But the dinner menu is really overpriced and the quality is so-so. Staff is not kind, they hate their job. The site is overpriced.

The location is great, at the ocean, the staff is nice, our cleaner Ngala did a great job, everybody was nice. There is a security and a gate, it feels safe. The pools were cleaned during our stay.

The bathroom is ruined down, the water was leaking on our first day, but they fixed it quickly. The breakfast facilities should be renewed, the juice tank is leaking. There are a lot of flies on the fruit. Lot of cats in the restaurant. Lot of sellers who annoy you on the beach. One day there were a lot of monkeys in the garden, so close your windows.

The grounds were very well kept, clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The security kept things at bay and in order when locals would come to do business. Everything was great! The breakfast every morning was an experience to look forward to every morning. Watch for monkeys and Ravens, they will swoop in for your food lol.....

The towel service, and some of the facilities needs to be upgraded. The patio furniture, huts and beachside awnings needs to be upgraded or refurbished. The monkeys were a little intrusive when walking around. You didn't know if you were about to be attacked or not lol. The bathtub water spout issued water way too slow so I was unable to soak. The bed mattress was a little hard for my taste. The locals can be very aggressive and overwhelming when trying to do business. They don't take no for an answer, they just keep coming back.

Quiet great location close to the beach. Friendly staff restaurant breakfast was unbeatable. Rooms were large and clean and fresh bottled water was supplied daily .

Shower ran off solar and although the weather was good it was more often than not difficult to get any hot water. T.V was very limited and difficult to even find channels that worked.

The location was perfect just a few steps from the beach with a great view! The restaurant was also well located with an amazing breakfast buffet menu which I highly recommend for all guests. Finally we were surprisingly pleased to find out they have a live band on Sunday afternoon until evening which we were lucky to have attended!

Only downside is the restaurant didn't accept cash and you either had to use your card or MPESA - This isn't really an inconvenience if you planned ahead so lesson learnt for next time!!!

The territory is very clean, green and well-kept. The staff is extremely friendly and fulfilled all requests very quickly. We were offered early accommodation and breakfast for free. the beach is very close and beautiful. restaurant by the ocean - everything is delicious, but outside the hotel it is significantly cheaper. The pools are large and deep. there is a children's pool.

villas need renovation. common areas are ok and rooms are old. bathrooms need updating.
